Haha “War doesn’t Know it’s Christmas” haha! Just started getting into the game and found your videos. Freaking outstanding! Thank you for making then. Gives me hope my wife will play and kick my butt as well! Haha
Great battle report. A brilliant example of how you can have a really fun and exciting game of BP, on a regular sized table, with 28mm figures. 👍 Merry Christmas to you both. 🎅
Brilliant and hilarious batrep once again. Just one thing - I think the combat which saw off the voltigeurs they should have drawn. Fairly sure they get a bonus to combat resolution from occupying the buildings, varying depending on the size of the building. Of course it wouldn't make a difference here because they were shaken so would have had to test and the result would be the same... But might make quite a big difference in future. Thanks for the time and effort you put into these for the rest of us, wishing you a merry Christmas
Really enjoyed your game. Think the way you video it, particularly when doing the movement, speeds it up nicely. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas to you both.
@@7thson726 yes, very interested. I actually play across the table with Gamer Dom, mostly SP, bit of Saga. I also record games on UA-cam , mostly Saga, bit of SP. I liked your way you used time lapse for movement phase of the game. Took, I reckon a good hour off recording time, to good effect. I am tempted to try BP, so far, resisted it, but your games with Hayley, are a lot of fun. They could lure me.. Assume you just use a iPhone for the movement phase/plan view?
@@hayleybrook9600 I must say he accepts his shellackings most graciously and cudos to you too Hayley for embracing Martins hobby the way you do. Cheers and have a safe new year.
I have to say that I've now watch most of your BP battles and enjoyed them immensely. Keep it up and I'm glad your dice rolling is like mine, but as they say I would rather be a lucky General than (like me) a good but unlucky one !!
Really enjoying these videos as i learn the game 😊 Enjoyed watching Hayley getting more and more tipsy as well 😂 Looking forward to the christmas 2021 rematch 🤘🏻
Great stuff watched this while at work, a great giggle watching this, made my night shift go a lot quicker, many thanks for taking the time to film this wich makes our lives a little bit brighter in these yucky times, merry christmas to you both and hope santa brings everything your young family desires, thanks again Iain..
I think Haley cooked your dice before the game then cooked your goose during the game with the aid of her magic gin. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
There are a few things id change with these rules, 1, french light companies "Voligures", should have a minus when facing off against a solid line, unit of foot. It's about mass, 2. When a unit is in square it should not have the "support" rule as they are in a fixed position and therefore unable to move or support... "only in so much as fire support". Good game though.
I completely get where your comkng from, the French lights already suffer by rolling less dice than the line battalion, i just got very lucky and when they are in a defensible positon they will get bonuses to their combat resolution. They will always fall eventually. Lots of examples of this, most orominent that comes to mind is of the light KGL defending La Haye Sainte against massed French troops for 6 hours at Waterloo, eventually they fell but it took a long time to get them out 😃
What did you use for the snow sprinkled on the road? The game reminds me distinctly of Charles S. Grant's Wagon Train scenario, which is on a smaller scale and possibly more for a skirmish style. A wagon (or coach, or important personage, etc) is escorted along a winding road by two regiments, with a third coming on randomly at the other end, while two opposing regiments coming on at random points and times must stop them. A lovely table and festive game! Makes me want to try something like it at work this winter.
Hey, thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it, was a good bit of festive fun 😅 I used talc powder as the scatter, as it stayes in one place when laid down and was easy to clean off
I'm thinking next time, have Hayley play the French - that way they may have a chance of winning... 😁 Seriously though, I've enjoyed these battle reports, and I'm glad Hayley is enjoying them too - not nearly enough women in our hobby. 🙂
Bonsoir à vous et à toute la famille. Joyeux Noël et bonne et heureuse année. J'espère que tout le monde se tient bien et est occupé en ces temps difficiles.
Thanks very much 👍 basically movement for infantry is normally 12 inches but that assumes your playing on a table say 12 ft x 8 ft. As we are on a 6 x 4 we reduce it to 2/3's as it means they cant travel over 75% of the board in 1 turn but still allows a high degree of manoeuvring 👍
Twas the before Christmas, and Supply Run sounds about right!
Haha unfortunately not alot of running from the French, at least in the right direction 😅
Великолепная игра. Люблю смотреть ваши ролики.
