- I'm playing through the game again on another clean merciless run. This time I will be doing a low level run. I will be doing as little grinding as possible. If I can easily avoid enemies I will but I will not go out of my way to avoid battles.
Date: 4/22
Level: 7
Guide:
- I used Bicorn (fused Mandrake and Jack O' Lantern) to cast Tarunda to lower Kamoshida's attack
- I used Rakunda (Jack O' Lantern) to lower his defense to make the DPS checks easier and the phases go by faster.
- There are 4 phases and one of them is a DPS check. After doing enough damage, you will move to the next phase.
- Phase 1 is just a normal phase, do enough damage and he will heal by eating the bodies in his cup. Then you move to phase 2.
- Phase 2 is another normal phase similar to phase one but you have to destroy the cup.
- Phase 3 occurs after the trophy is destroyed and is a DPS check when you send a party member to steal the crown. I always send Morgana since he's the weakest.
- When entering phase 3, he will always start his turn by preparing his spike attack which deals a lot of damage. After you send someone to steal the crown, weaken him with Tarunda. Note: After his spike, his next turn will be a random attack move followed by lustful slurp.
- During the end of phase 3 he will prepare for another spike when the 2nd DPS check is passed, if you DPS him out of phase 3, he will skip his spike move.
- Phase 4 is the easiest and last phase. His armor will be reduced and you will deal significantly more damage. His attack will also be reduced to 1 instead of 2 so healing is less of a concern.
Recommended Items to have on hand (buy from Tae or negotiate):
(5) Takemedic All [Recovers 50 HP to the whole party]
(2) Odd Morsols [Heal 30% HP, ATK up, ACC/EVA down)

Weapon: Ryozanpaku Sword (68 ATK, 94 ACC)

Accessory: Muscle Anklet (Str +2)

That volleyball attack one shots my characters, and I’m in level 9. It’s either letting him attack me so I can attack and then die because I didn’t block or block and eventually die because I was not able to heal my team
Remember to always keep him under tarunda.

I am working on it now, I swear! I needed to play through the 2nd palace again to gather notes. I was informed (a bit back) that I can kill Madarame at level 13 so I'm going to try and do that and add that info to the guide. I originally beat him at level 16 which required a bit of grinding, so if I can help people avoid that it'd be better.

Anyway to beat him if I don't have the ability to lower his attack? All I got is to lower his defence. He keeps killing me with his stupidly long volleyball attacks
I think it's required since he out damages your healing.
JRPGFanatic does the same go for normal mode?
You could go for that in the normal mode but kamoshida is much easier on normal than merciless besides that I fought kamoshida at level 9 and my first attempt was going so well until he saw skull and yeah I was like but I already attacked you twice damn it! After his gold medal spike he immediately noticed him Ugh
@@JRPGFanatic this is very late, but for future reference, I believe it’s possible to scrape a victory with rakukaja to increase Ann’s defence. That being said, you almost have to neglect your game on purpose to not be able to buy bicorn. That, or spend all your money beforehand.
@@supersonicthehedgehog3721 Kamoshida only needs ~200 damage per distraction in the original. Royal increases it to ~500 per distraction, possibly to compensate for the lack of random Gold Medal Spikes during the crown-stealing operation.
Obarion resists physical so try him on Joker

How do I get a Merciless Mode? I have a PS4 but when I want to change the game settings, I can't find it. Is it a free DLC?
Yes, it's a free DLC you can download off the playstation store. They have a few other free DLCs (items and costumes) you can download as well.

This feels like bs. He's doing way more damage on average than me even though he is at lvl 7 and i'm on lvl 9. He even takes less damage from the volleyball attack. It usually does from 29-37 damage to me but he only takes about 18-24 damage.
Edit: Ok, i'm not sure whether that was just luck or something else, but i only get a warning on a normal turn where he can act twice for the lick. And before i can do anything about the warning, he uses his extra turn to insta-kill Ann. Kamoshida never gave off a warning directly after lustful slurp or libido boost, where i would have time to react to the warning.
I have several questions, in case you remember any of the answers:
-Were you applying and maintaining Tarunda in the first half? I observed numbers in the smaller range instead of the larger one when doing so.
-Did anyone have any decent protectors that were better than the starting ones? I noticed Morgana taking more damage than the others because I wasn't yet able to get a decent collar for him.
-May or may not be a dumb question, but were/are you playing Royal? Because this video is for the original release, from which Royal is very different.
I brought up the last one because most of my base P5 experience comes from Royal, and I've only ever seen Kamoshida stare on action 1 and Lick on action 2 in the same turn, rather than stare on action 2 on one turn and Lick on action 1 the next. On the upside, Lick is survivable without guarding when Kamoshida has Tarunda applied and Ann's* HP is kept full.
*There's a mod for the PC port that makes Joker female, and it actually tweaks Kamoshida's Lick so as to have a 50/50 chance of targeting _her_ instead of Ann. Which makes it even more dangerous, as it can easily lead to an instant game over if you're unprepared...
@@steam-powereddolphin5449 This is very outdated, as I have now found a different boss to get stuck on and haven't touched the game in ages, but I will still answer the questions.
No, I did not use Tarunda (or any buffs or debuffs) during my attempts, not even on my winning one.
Yes, I did have defensive equipment that was better than the usual stuff, but it may not have been much better and/or had little defensive equipment besides base.
Yes, I am playing on Royal. I just thought that Royal came with a bit more stuff (like a deluxe edition) and didn't know that it affected gameplay.
@@mr.mcflurryco.1034 Did you get stuck on the fifth big boss? That's the one particularly infamous difficulty spike in this game.
@@steam-powereddolphin5449 No...the second. It seems like a pattern. Even though I'm on the hardest difficulty, I get through the game fairly easily with few mishaps...until I get to a boss fight where I get stuck and stop playing the game for a while. Last time when I came back, I beat Kamoshida in 3 tries. It wasn't the case this time though. The next time I go on my next Persona frenzy (as I like to call it) I'll be in the Mementos grinding as I think that I am slightly underleveled. (Around lvl 22-23 if I am not mistaken)
@@steam-powereddolphin5449 I've only gotten past the first phase once, honestly. Even then, I still got instantly wiped off the face of the earth. I may need to start using buffs and debuffs during it. (I also don't have a counter to his black paint move that makes you weak to everything, so I need to find one.)
But how would you get Berith for Sojiro?
You can get him later in mementos or fuse him once you hit level 9 (there are multiple formulas). Getting him late should not affect the schedule too much since I decided to stop hanging out with Sojiro after Rank 2. I didn't talk to him again until after I got my fortune to Rank 7 for affinity reading because making coffee is a waste of an activity. Since I'm doing a low level run, I'm not sure how having a delayed fortune will affect my schedule but I think I should still be able to come out with almost the same amount of free time in the end... hopefully...

I kind of sort of have a written schedule. I've written a spreadsheet for up to stealing Madarame's Heart and I have notes on my activities from 6/22 to the end of the game. I'm still working on compiling the schedule but I'll hopefully have it done.

How do you regain your sp? I need to know!
Items in certain vending machines and later on in the game, equipments that regain sp each turn and skills on personas that also do the same.
Leblanc coffee also heals SP.
trade with flowers from jose for sp recovery items, find snuff souls and soul drops in mementos, and so on
@@eonnephilim852 I'm seeing quite a few Royal comments in videos for the original edition. Jose does not exist in this version, as he is a Royal addition!
(Will Seeds also help with SP regen in Palaces, but they are another Royal addition)
