Matty, what’s the cpu like on this compared to soothe 2?
Thanks Matty. Looks like a cool plugin.... I bought Soothe 2 in 2020... and I can still use it. But I have many Waves plugins I bought in 2020 and 2021 that I haven't been able to use since I got my Mac Studio in 2023 because I would have to pay to upgrade to the same exact version I had before. Their upgrade plan doesn't make sense in today's market. But as usual, great video!
Still cheaper than buying Soothe once.
@@GC-nd1lp Not in the long run when you're gonna have to pay upgrades every couple versions or every time you upgrade machine.
@@CamiloVelandia Why would I have to pay upgrades every couple versions? I'm on a '23 Mac Studio too, and I won't be upgrading the OS since that machine is strictly for my studio.
@@GC-nd1lpif you stay in the same iOS, then you’re guaranteed everything will work. Every number of iOS updates, Waves will release new versions. I started buying V9 Waves.. now theyre announcing V15. As mac continues to upgrade OS, Waves will release newer versions. But they will stop supporting old versions of their plugins as you upgrade OS. Make sense? Regardless of if you upgrade machine or not. And if you do upgrade machine down the line, then almost always you will have to pay Waves upgrade plan to keep using plugins. I cant use any plugins that were V12 or earlier in my current Mac Studio unless I update them to V14/15. Thats my point. Whereas Ive been using the same exact Soothe version I purchased for years ago.
@@CamiloVelandia Your first sentence is correct and was my whole point. This machine will not be updated so none of what you said will apply to me. If you bought Soothe it would have been $50 to upgrade to Soothe 2.
interesting plugin. $40 is great price tag if it has power of soothe2
i recently bought soothe2 and i have it all my mix/master chains. i gave CE a run and replaced all my soothe2's, im so mad that it sounds a little better after spending 200$ for a 40$ plugin to do better.
@@danficaradj wow, so useful info, thanks!
Great review. Instant buy
Super useful tutorial! Thank you! I'm using Equator and I'm really liking it so far. About sidechaining, I wonder if it's better or more useful than Izotope's Neutron Unmask. Still haven't tried to compare. Maybe, it could be the theme for one of your future videos. Thanks again!
Sounds pretty good and good controls, like a dynamic EQ. But what frequencies is it targeting within the bands, can you adjust that?
The multiband reminds me of the Phil Speiser "The Smoother". I use that a bit and I like breaking up the ranges with custom thresholds. Equator doesn't look bad (and actually modern looking for Waves). Looks everyone is getting into this genre of plugins.
The vocal sounds great . Great plugin ❤ , it's cool
Nice Background and Visual setup Matty. Keep doing the good work 🤍
Nice demo Matty, thanks!
Is it similar to some modules on Ozone 11 or Soundtheory Gullfoss?
More like Bloom from Oeksound
it's similar to Neutron's Sculptor, Gullfoss and Ozone's Stabilizer
@@bwayneeth more like Soothe, than Bloom. Bloom is a tone shaper, not as much a resonant suppresor, and its extra controls are crazy
@@fcmas none of that its more like a smooth operator from baby audio this pluin its basically trash
@@yuli8897 Have you used it yourself?
I kind of wonder if everything is smoothed and under control, won't it get boring to listen to. I mean no edges, no squeaks, no emotions .....
I think that's why you have to really listen to all the multi-dynamic plugins. Soothe2 will take the life out as well as others if your not careful.
Anything waves is a no no no no no!! 😂
Smooth operator from baby audio did it first
False. Melda mspectraldymics is dang near a decade old
Soothe 2 user. I’ll pass.
@@tkelong3569 owner of Soothe2 and Bloom, and I still see potential for it in my toolkit
