    I'm a retired optician and i'm very well aware of Zenni Optical and I couldn't agree with you more about the quality of their glasses. I first became aware of Zenni and several other on line glasses sites back in my working days when one of my lovely female opticians heard about them from a patient. Since she wore glasses herself she couldn't wait to try out ordering her own glasses on line and she told the other girls as well and they also wanted to order glasses too. I was very skeptical of these sites so I insisted that they would allow me to check the prescriptions of their glasses before they started wearing them. I was very impressed with ho accurate the prescriptions were on their glasses and it gave me a good chance to get a really good look at their glasses and see the quality of their glasses. Some sites were better than others but they were all very good. One of the sit es I liked the best was Zenni Optical and that's where i have been ordering glasses from for my own family as well as many many friends as well. The reason you need to request your PD measurement is because it's not a part of the eye exam. The PD is done after you have selected glasses. If you remember the last time you goit glasses from your local optical store after you picked out the frame for your glasses an optical assistant or optician would have you look thru something that looked a bit like a view finder while he or she looked thru the other side. They were getting your PD measurement. Now once you are fully grown or an adult your PD won't ever change. So anyone reading this should write their PD down and save it in a safe place so they have it whenever they order new glasses. Now if you have never bought glasses from that store and don't know what your PD is then you should ask someone to measure it for you after getting your eyes examined or even ask the doctor to do it for you. You also mentioned why you take your glasses off when recording a video. You said it's because of the glare and reflections you get on your lenses. So i'm curious to know if you haven't been ordering your glasses with an AR coating (anti-reflective)? That coating works very well in reducing glare and reflections by quite a bit and it is only $5.00. that same coating sells for anywhere from $45.00 to well over $100.00 at local optical stores. Even worse most insurances don't cover it because they consider it as being cosmetic. Now by getting the Blokz coating your glasses will have an AR coating on them. As an optician, you really should be getting yearly eye exams but not so much because of a possible prescription change but because of checking for things like glaucoma and even diabetes. Actually by now I would think that your eyes are very stable and you shouldn't need a change in your glasses until you start to find that your arms aren't long enough to read small print anymore and you will be getting your first pair of bifocals. So I saw the prescription you had in the order form for your glasses and I assume that it's your real prescription? If it is, you really have a very weak prescription. Your very very slightly nearsighted and only have a small amount of astigmatisms correction in your glasses. Just enough of a prescription for a good excuse to wear glasses whenever you want to because when you have astigmatisms it does effect your eyesight for all distances, slightly. I don't have to tell you that even with a very weak prescription you're not going to do any harm to your eyes no matter how much you wear them and that includes full time even.

      Thanks for this well thought out and helpful comment!!! Yes, I have a hard time seeing things far away without squinting. I don’t think that was my real script😌 I love Zenni! Thanks for watching!!!!

      @soundmanpt 4 роки тому

      @@KathrynMay Thank you for your reply and i'm glad that you found my comment helpful. Not being able to see things at a distance very well without squinting can occur with even a rather weak nearsighted prescription along with some astigmatism correction. I don't see why you would bother filling in something other than your actual prescription, if you did that's fine, but it's not like you put in your social security number. Just because your prescription isn't very strong doesn't mean that you shouldn't be wearing glasses anytime you want to. Remember since glasses have become so popular many young ladies are wearing non-prescription glasses they either buy on line or at a boutique store. If you want your glasses to be a little stronger next time you order new glasses order them with a -.50 SPH and leave the CYL and axis the same as you have been ordering with. This is just a slight over correction and you will see things even a little clearer and sharper at a distance than you currently do with your current glasses. This won't do any harm to your eyes if you're wondering. Instead of seeing 20/20 with your current glasses you would be seeing 20/15 with the slight over correction.

    • @KathrynMay
      @KathrynMay  3 роки тому

      You are optometrist should tell you how often you should wear your glasses. I wear mine all the time except for when I’m recording because sometimes there’s a really bad glare. I also wear sunglasses sometimes that are not prescription

    Thanks for the video! If you have trouble with your plastic frames sliding down, you probably have too wide of a bridge for your nose. I have the opposite issue where smaller bridges pinch my nose too tight. To help, try measuring and see what your bridge size is. It's extremely helpful for me in choosing frames! :-)

    The Progressive (No-Line Multi-Focal) lenses options for BLOKZ BLUE BLOCKERS started at $43.95 .they actually recommend the one $73.95 , which is pricey. I might just try and get them without the prescription .
