Fantastic video and just what I need as I’ve had my overlocker 2 years and not cleaned it yet. Thank you so much :-)
Do you use it much?
I wonder how many of us will be cleaning our overlockers this weekend😄 It was a well needed reminder. Thank you lovely ladies 💟
Lots I’m sure !!
I am good at cleaning my sewing machine but my overlocker had no guide on how to clean just how to oil so it has been neglected.
I watched this video this morning and then spent the next hour cleaning and oiling my overlocker it is now running much smoother. Thanks for the excellent video that I will come back to every time by overlocker needs a clean.
I am going to play this video when I next clean my beloved overlocker. So much good information. Thank you for this.
Looks like I need to do a clean and oil on my machine before I do my next project. Thanks for the instructions!
I am good at cleaning my sewing, embroidery, overlocker and my cover stitch machines. I also know better than to blow fluff out of the way. I had taken my pfaff mechanical sewing machine in for service and the tech showed me a little rust on the front loading bobbin . He worked really hard on it and cleaned it up really well. So please resist the urge to blow that fluff out. Learn from my expensive mistake. Good luck, thanks for a great reminder. Val❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
Hello Stitch Sisters thank you so much for sharing this important video. I have never oiled my overlocker just clean the dust out every time I use it. The things you showed to clean and oil the overlocker I shall get apart from the oil, bush and screw drivers.
I better start :) :)
Looking good Rachel say hello for Nikki for me haven't seen her for a while.
Your online classes are just brilliant I have purchase a few.
Look forward to seeing you ladies soon on your you tube channel. :) :) XX
Fun to see you on UA-cam again, even if it’s an overlocker cleaning video! Hugs from Oregon.
It’s so hard Loriann...we just can’t produce the content that we want to do, so we are thinking outside the box and releasing interesting chunks from our classes where we can. Hoping some normality will return soon but it doesn’t look hopeful ☹️
Yes, its tough all over the world for sure. The USA is sure having some problem spots at the moment. I watch BBC 1 or ITV every day to see how your country is doing and hopeful that they’ll let us into the UK without being quarantined for two weeks! We had to cancel two trips and have booked two more before the end of the year. The first cruise will start in Denmark and end in Southampton on the 22nd of October and we were hoping to travel via BritRail for another 3 weeks. That trip is looking threatened though and we’ll cancel if they quarantine us for 2 weeks. The next one is in December and January. Hoping, hoping... But I’m getting my England fix every day by watching the British TV channels and I’ve been watching Lisa Comfort Live on Tuesdays and Thursday’s and making lots of clothes from Sew Over It! It starts at 1 PM BST which is 5 AM Oregon time (Yawn)! Big hugs for both of you. Glad that you’re well. Loriann & Larry
I haven't got an Overlocker. Yet.😒 It's on my wishlist. 🤗👍
Thanks for sharing, how to maintain one.
Take care, stay safe, & Happy Weekend to everybody. 😷❤🙂🐶
Really good video. I just got an old overlocker with no manual & this helped me to get it moving! Thank you x
That's great to hear
I had no idea about cleaning the tension discs..I'll be doing that today! I think I'll also pick up a makeup brush at the dollar store to use for cleaning. Thanks for all the great info!
This was great 👍 thank you x
Thank you for such an informative and interesting video. I have just spent half an hour deep cleaning and oiling my overlocker. I normally get it serviced yearly but do little else between beyond de-fluffing. While looking for the manual I also found the receipt which tells me I bought it in 2011 so that's longer than I expected
👌 Great reminder and brilliant demo too...thanks very much 😁💕😘
Wonderful, I have a Janome very similar to what you have in the video, I’ll definitely be giving it a spa day following your very useful instructions. Thanks so much for uploading this demo :)
This is more like it. According to the instructions that came with my new serger, there are only 2 places that need oil. That sure doesn’t seem correct. According to Singer’s instructions for my sewing machine, there’s evidently nothing that needs oil because there is no mention of it. Amazing!
Brilliant, thanks...mine definitely needed it!
Thank you so much ladies. Another great video :)
This is very helpful. Thank you!
You look amazing! Nice neckless! Thanks for the vid! Very helpful!
Thank you, that was helpful 👍
Great info, thank you.
Rachel: don't blow in to your machine Me: ooops! too late LOL LOL
Thanks for reminding me 😉 I really should do better.
In my area it say 75 for service
My serger is no longer screaming at me: THANK YOU. I think I could stuff a small cushion with the lint I freed from all the mechanisms...
dont use water to clean the discs they rust
Oh, Ma, do I have to?
😃
