hobao made indded some good improvements ince the mt+sport : it's good to see a manufacturer that listens to feedbacks ! i've been in contact with them since 7 years and i hope that we will eventually get to the ultimate basher ! all i can do is show them my modifications !

Ok I already liked Hobao for years now since Hyper 7 nitro buggy. I think I’m going to need one of these trucks they look stout! Great unbox and look at the truck. You went into great detail and I appreciate it. This truck, and the recently release Hyper VSe 1/8 buggy are on my buy list for next spring/summer. Yes. They have a Us warehouse and any necessary parts are just a quick website order and a few days away. Most of the common parts are also available on places like eBay. This truck shares 90% of its parts with previous versions too so those parts have been out for a while.
@@DoRC That's good. I always buy used from big brands. They're too expensive new but parts are everywhere for my talion and i bash hard and hate downtime

Impressive that they went to 7075 aluminum, but are you sure it's machined and not stamped aluminum? Machined aluminum usually has a much nicer look and finish, I'm sure it will be super durable either way. Hobao vehicles are usually tanks!
Yes it's definitely machined you can tell by how sharp the corners are that it's not a stamped piece. Old one was stamped. It looks like it's been some sort of media blasted afterward to give it a uniform finish. It's hard to believe but this actually looks like it was machine out of a single billet. That's a very wasteful process but the only other way I can think that they're doing it is stamping it and then machining it but I've never seen that done

I’ve got a 4092 1250kv Rocket brushless motor sitting around from an old project I think if it would fit would be a nice efficient torque powerhouse for this truck
Unfortunately the 92 mm can motor won't fit. Looks like there's a maximum of about 84mm in available length. I ordered a 8545 motor to see if I can jam it in there for 8s. We will see how it goes.
@@DoRC that sounds like a nice motor to put in. Right on the edge of barely fitting! Hmm my 4092 I’ll have to figure out what to put that in over the winter it’s a fairly big heavy can.
Beefy injection molded towers and braces, take note competitors! Wheelbase appears to be close to 1/8 Kraton/Sledge, how does it compare to flat chassis with ease of service 🤔
It's actually pretty massive compared to both of those. In my opinion this is more 1/7 scale than 1/8 scale. It's pretty easy to work on. The steering can be a bit of a pain if you have to get into the servo saver because it's kind of buried but everything else isn't too bad.
Looks great apart from that huge open section from underneath, I think that’s inviting too much access for stones etc.. that said I’ve never yet owned a chassis like this so might be taking out of my smelly end.😂
I've never really had any issues with it but I also don't bash where there are a lot of small rocks. I haven't really heard of other people having problems with stuff getting stuck in there though I'm sure it is a potential issue. There's a chassis brace that you can buy that basically covers the backside which I'm sure will help a lot. Thanks for watching and a sub is appreciated. Check out my last video. I'm doing a giveaway in it.
The outcast is far closer to this than the kraton. Kraton is a long wheelbase truggy. Both this and the outcasts are short wheelbase monster trucks. I suppose you could consider the outcast a monster truggy. It's important not to look at the marketing terminology that is used and actually look at the form factor of the vehicle when making comparison.

@@DoRC thanks ! btw way, the motor lenght max might be more like 82mm, and i think that even 82mm requires some light triming. other point : the body is one the thin side : it won't last very even if the foam help A LOT
@@stephanez8036 yeah I noticed even my 78mm is close. I ordered a 4585 for 8s running. I expect to have to do a bit of trimming. Body does seem pretty average thickness. I was hoping for a little thicker given how well the +2 body held up.
Yeah if you want to truggy it's definitely a good choice. This is more of a monster truck though so I wouldn't say that they're necessarily comparable.
Sorry that you got that impression. Keep in mind please that this truck is very similar to the Mt +2 that's been out for a while. I suppose it's kind of like how your comment could have conveyed the same amount of information with just one or two sentences but doing it in a more dramatic way feels like a more effective way to engage with your target audience. The reality though is that this is just how UA-cam is. Everybody does it so everybody has to do it. If I didn't make compelling titles and thumbnails you would never see my videos because people wouldn't click on them and then UA-cam wouldn't push them and if UA-cam didn't push them there wouldn't be any reason to make them. just another electric... nothing special.. nitro needs to make a comeback. It's not completely dead yet and I don't think it ever will be... All this brushless electric b.s is getting overrated.. just my own opinion.
I'm not sure nitro will ever make a comeback. Nitro is cool and can be a lot of fun but it's really hard to argue that electric is superior and essentially every single way. More power, quieter, less maintenance, more approachable, etc etc. It's not like you get to avoid using batteries with nitro. Nitro vehicles still use batteries they just also need everything else that a nitro vehicle needs. Again not saying nitro isn't cool. I have internal combustion RC cars and love them.
