I did this last year. May I suggest a hoover before sweeping off the dust. It's fast and keeps everything clean. I still brushed afterwards but doing the hoovering first stopped me dumping dust into the air for people to breath or my neighbour to see on their roof. Your end result is great. I am disappointed in the original person who laid it because they seem to have made quite a few unnecessary joins in the fibreglass. They also failed to feather the edges to remove the lines where the sheets join.
Is there a good product that lasts you could paint over this type of roof ? Ive had a room added with this roof and has leaked from day one builders gone and im out of large amounts of money to have it taken off really is there any advice ? Many thanks in advance.
Hi. I used Res Tec GRP 505 topcoat but I wouldn't get too hung up about the brand. Go to your builder's merchant and ask for topcoat for a grp/fibre glass roof. BTW, topcoat and resin are two different things. Resin is applied first and topcoat is applied second, on top of the resin. In my video I only apply topcoat because it had worn with time. I just wanted to explain that in case you weren't aware. And topcoat isn't cheap! Expect to pay about £80 for a 20kg tub. Take care
@@Mezquita100 I have lots of pin holes and fiber glass that wasn't properly soaked with resin. Would you suggest putting additional layer of resin and glass fiber matt?
I have done over 10 thousand fibreglass roofs and u should never do this clean sand acetone then you need to mat the roof then the top coat doing what he done will start to peel off I see this all the time to many roofers doing fibreglass who don't know what they are doing I started work building fibreglass boats I'm 1976
@@MrFlatroofer there is no felt flat 30 years old that hasnt had multiple repairs(mostly by cowboys) and leaks,if felt was better we'd still be doing it(no body was burnt alive or no house was burnt down in the making of this video)😁
@@robertodonoghue4490 I pass a roof many times that I renewed 27 yeas ago and not leaking. All the professional roofers where I live all use a 3 layer torchon system. (SBS Polyester).The GRP and rubber roofs were introduced for unskilled roofers. I have visited over 80 GRP roofs that were leaking. The felt you refer to is the old Glass and rag felt that has not been used for over 35 years since the Poly/SBS was introduced. If you wanted I could (along with many other flat roofers) construct a flat roof that would last over a 100 years and still cheaper than GRP. Not practical though. One prominent contributor to these blogs, no longer uses GRP. he was big enough to admit GRP is not suitable for flat roofing. I note your remark about fire though. Good point Sir. That is another reason why many roofers are turning to GRP and rubber, much to their disgust.

how much you would charge for a square meter similar structure roof?

Presumably the recoating would be covered by the guarantee.
Or you could just buy some aquashield flat roof paint. Just sweep the roof and paint on. No fuss.

What step did he miss? Mat the roof? Does that mean to wipe off the acetone?

Why would a fibre glass roof need recoating. if it was a 3 layer torch on roof, it would last at least 30 years.
