@@eyebitez You don't deserve so much security for any kind of investment.
You don't get to dictate where others can live, if they have the resources to live somewhere they should be able to. That's the free market.
You already don't pay the property taxes that you should actually pay for your house, you probably can't afford to live here if you did. You should move. (not you, homeowners in general in this area).
This causes increased rents and indirectly the price of goods in your area.
You look like a donkey to everyone outside of your elite little club of homeowners that struck gold for buying a house in the right area of the country, no skill, just stupid luck.

Besides, 1.5M with the rates these days requires 300k as a 20% down payment, then basically another 8k A MONTH for your mortgage, NOT including property taxes, insurance, and (likely) an HOA. That's likely double the cost it is to rent something comparable in the same area(s).

allowing property owners to subdivide and build up to 4 residential units on their limited lots will decimate the character of this place with not only quadruple the number of residents but also the number of vehicles parked on its streets. this is no way to create housing density. i applaud the effort to preserve it. the greed lies with homeowners who favor being allowed to build additional units
