An Amazing performance, Thanks to the men and women performing for their service. The directors confedence is noteworthy and comes out in an great way to cap off the performance.
When I was a teenager, as unlikely as it sounds now, the Stars and Stripes Forever - John Phillip Sousa was actually my favorite song. (Didn’t admit that to my peers, for obvious reasons 😊) Then I grew up, time passed and 2016 came. And my favorite song was displaced by a toss up between two; “Look What They’ve Done to My Song, Ma” - Melanie. And “The Thrill Is Gone!”- B.B. King. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
My late father loved this! They played it every year along with other patriotic songs at our local July 4th fireworks. I can just see him now next to me on my left loving every beat of this song almost more than the loud booms of the fireworks themselves. There on my right would be my late mother, passing the fried dough to us. It's so interesting how tastes and sounds can bring back such vivid memories.
Please get earplugs! Piccolos can really damage ears when the volume isn't controlled. Especially the sound is facing the right ear so your hearing won't be balanced. Earplugs really helped me learn this.
Kenneth Maese You're right. No offense to the flutists, but it's rare to hear a decent flute/piccolo part. John Philip Sousa knew how. So does John Williams in the Emperors March.

I’m in love with the piccolo part❤️❤️ It’s outstanding that 5 people can make the song sound more extraordinary👌🏼👌🏼
Just came from your show in Orange City, Iowa. Hard to put into words how blown away the audience was with your performance. Thanks for sharing your amazing talents with us. . . .
John Hubers Thank you so much! Glad you made it to our show.
The United States Army Field Band Are you guys going to be in Massachusetts any time soon? I love your music, and I really want to enlist in the Army some day!
[First Strain]
Let martial note in triumph float
And liberty extend its mighty hand
A flag appears 'mid thunderous cheers,
The banner of the Western land.
The emblem of the brave and true
Its folds protect no tyrant crew;
The red and white and starry blue
Is freedom's shield and hope.
[Second Strain]
Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation.
(repeats) Other nations may deem their flags the best
And cheer them with fervid elation,
But the flag of the North and South and West
Is the flag of flags, the flag of Freedom's nation.
Hurrah for the flag of the free!
May it wave as our standard forever,
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let despots remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.
[Repeat of the First Strain]
Let eagle shriek from lofty peak
The never-ending watchword of our land;
Let summer breeze waft through the trees
The echo of the chorus grand.
Sing out for liberty and light,
Sing out for freedom and the right.
Sing out for Union and its might,
O patriotic sons.
Hurrah for the flag of the free.
May it wave as our standard forever
The gem of the land and the sea,
The banner of the right.
Let despots remember the day
When our fathers with mighty endeavor
Proclaimed as they marched to the fray,
That by their might and by their right
It waves forever.
Thank you for the full lyrics!
"Let despots remember the day" goes super hard
This brings tears to my eyes. God bless our Military
This so awesome! 5 piccolos in sync AND in tune? Impressive! :)
Here in Argentina this american patriotic song is used as soundtrack for a popular news TV channel called Crónica
LIBERAN AL CIEGO... NO TENIA NADA QUE VER XDDDD
Listening on the 4th of July to celebrate American independence. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I've listened to this more than I'd like to admit (I'm a little obsessed), but I still get chills. Beautifully done. Absolutely fantastic!
And “The Thrill Is Gone!”-
B.B. King. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Looking at those faces, The USA's defense is in safe hands. The National Pride and Determination clearly present in Spades
Beautiful. Sounds amazing. So much love, honor and pride. God Bless America!
That crescendo near the end. It's a small detail, but an enjoyable one. Love it.
LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE FLUTE/PICCOLO SECTION!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Please get earplugs! Piccolos can really damage ears when the volume isn't controlled. Especially the sound is facing the right ear so your hearing won't be balanced. Earplugs really helped me learn this.
Soranthio Yes thank you! They helped me too
YESSSS!
Kenneth Maese You're right. No offense to the flutists, but it's rare to hear a decent flute/piccolo part. John Philip Sousa knew how. So does John Williams in the Emperors March.
MY PICC IS OUT!
There are some prime cuties in this video. Best thing ever happened for me was to join the Army and met my lovely wife there seventeen years ago! God bless you all.
Hey no love on the battlefield 😤 lmao thank you both for your service tho
I think it's awesome that they are still giving hearts and likes to comments eight years after this awesome video was published.
Military social media accounts seem kinda chill to me. I have been in the dms of the British Grenadiers before
I´m Brasilian, wonderful.
Happy Independence Day 2023, United States Field Army Band!
MY FAVORITE AMERICAN ANTHEM !!!! A GRAND PEFORMANCE, THANKS !!!
A great rendition of an absolutely fantastic song, but I can't listen to this and not cry a little every time
same here
Yes, it is moving.
Bernardo Ruiz
I cry as well and I'm not even American. But one doesn't have to be born in the US to love this song; It has the word 'beauty' written all over it.
This never makes me cry. In fact it helps me cheer up when I'm crying.
Music says things that we just can’t put into words. But here’s a try: God bless America and thank you for letting me be born here in this great wonderful beautiful country. Jersey Joe
From Argentina I’d like to say excelent performance!!
I'm proud to be an American, where atleast I know I'm free. God bless the USA!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👧🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽👌🏽
