I stopped following OW Esports after OWL ended. I was surprised to see them jump straight into topics, until Reinforce was like "we are gonna do something unusual and jump straight into things". Glad to see this pod hasn't changed.
That's one of the reason I hope MR succeed, I don't want the toxic player pool to come back over here, ever again. It's just sad that those that weren't are in the cross-fire. Well, main reason I wish them the best is also so that they can develop in their own way, and maybe we can steal stuff from them XD (so far, factions looks nice, and still on the fence on the ban system they have, not that I don't like it, but I just wonder if the number of leavers would increase)
1:22:32 I've been saying this for months now that it isn't 6v6 that people actually miss, it's purely tank duos. If you play a 2-1-2 composition in Open Queue (OCE community does this every Tuesday), it's so much more fun and enjoyable.
This is how you end up with 20 min queue times for dps and you lose what's left of your playerbase again. You have to keep in mind the vast majority of the playerbase prefer dps throughout the history of the game from the very beginning and if you make the experience worse for the majority that is a problem overall
1:01:47 Yeah CR and Zeta are essentially the 2 biggest orgs in Japan in terms of popularity, after that we enter the less big teams with varrel, and Lazuli I guess ? But essentially, Japan already have all their org team in owcs in one region or another as far as I can remember the orgs. 1:17:40 Honestly, it really feels like the NA server is hell to play on XD
Super would co-stream some shock games on his stream and he’s literally the biggest ow streamer. Baffling Also can Mr Vast stream again I’m having withdrawals
How Avril describes playing DPS and support in 6V6 is literally how us tank mains feel all the time. It sucks, but I think I’m at the point where I don’t want the weight of the world on my shoulders every time I boot up and play overwatch.
like maybe a week ago i just realised that ive never seen the control map antarctica played in any face it owl or owcs or calling all heroes etc matches and now i really want it to be played
i think one of the biggest downsides of 6v6 (at least historically) was the queue times, right? well... if we have a 5v5 mode and 6v6 mode concurrently, maybe all the 6v6 heads will be queueing that and the queue times will be more or less fine? meanwhile the 5v5'ers will just queue 5v5 and those queue times will stay fine too? maybe...
Sf shock is the team that got me into esports, I loved overwatch and I live like 20 mins from San Francisco, unfortunately this is just another sign to keep playing rivals
I'm a big Open Q enjoyer. Its a good way to enable off-tanks, which is fun. And yeah there are things like Zarya being able to give her main tank 2 bubbles which is crazy, but it feels good. And we get to play 3 tanks and 2 supports, as the game was intended to be played when I started playing. OpenQ and 6v6 are both trash without a group tho. Having the wrong composition is just a hard loss with no option to outplay your opponents. If your team has a hog, you're guaranteed to lose.
I think using the Roadhog argument against 6v6 is pure cope. Roadhog feels terrible to have on your team in 5v5 if you're a support or dps because as soon as they have a hero that counters him (so half the hero roster) you literally have no tank and it's up to you to kill a raidboss tank on the enemy team while yours is feeding on cooldown. Yes I'm sure it feels awful to play Rein with Hog into Rein Zarya but lower health pools mean that your dps and support can have impact in the tank trade (reminder a couple headshots from Ashe or Cass can instantly burst a Zarya with no self-bubble, so imagine 2 dps and 2 supports shooting her, you don't necessarily need your 2nd tank shooting her). Good luck trying to kill a 5v5 Rein who's getting healed with just your dps and supports, spoiler alert : you won't. 6v6 means less reliance on your tanks in general, and gives freedom to one of your tanks to flank or not pick an optimal character because the other roles actually matter in the front line trade. I could go on the whole support rant too but to keep it short supports' ability to flank and dps is a big part of why DPS feels so much worse in 5v5, I mean Kiriko for example has no downside to flanking because she literally can't get punished due to TP, has insane burst and can 2 tap most flanking dps appart from Genji and Reaper, and due to 5V5 tanks having so much sustain they can live for a long time without her direct support, depending on comps. In 6v6 she needs to keep both tanks up at all times and it shifts the power level of the flanks back to the DPS, Tracer might not win the 1v1 against Kiriko (trust me, watch even Kevster play and he almost NEVER duels the Kiri on the flank, she just wins the duel/trade 90% of the time) but having her distracted means that the tank isn't getting healed and gets burst down faster, inherently rewarding more the DPS for flanking than the support (which is the whole design of the game btw, Tracer's whole indentity is flanking and dueling whereas Kiri can do everything in the game). What that means is that the DPS, even inderectly, can affect the tank trade by distracting supports too way more than in 5v5 thanks to lower health pools and more reliance on heals, meaning that even if your tank comp isn't optimal you can still have other players outside of the tanks affecting it, which is barely the case in 5v5.
let's also not forget this is 1 patch for 6v6 they made whilst still balancing the 5v5 live game and it already feels like you have more options to win tank trades as a team then 2+ years of 5v5 balancing ever has lol. Imagine the balancing we could get with the current team and their full focus on this (also they would just rework the tanks that don't work well like hog and the maps that are too congested because they have CLEARLY shown they are willing to do that for 5v5 anyway)
I loved the Sig, Hog meta in 6v6, in game and in OWL. It was my personal “GOATS wasn’t that bad guys!” My preferred tanks are: Mauga, Hog, Ram and I think Hazard is creeping in there. Yes I’m a degenerate

Samito going to Rivals would be the best thing to happen to Overwatch in 8 years.
Facts
Huge facts

48:46 Avrl lowkey always has great quips. At least once an episode.
Lord of the Rings is my favorite Christmas movie

I agree with this completely, I *loved* the max 2 quickplay hacked, kingmaker and 6v6 role queue were miserable
yeah, maybe it doesnt need to be 6v6, we just don't like super tanks, with all that passives
Yeah 6v6 for me has been MISERABLE both in Classic and in the current play tests. 2 Tanks in the one quickplay hacked was amazing tho 😂

If you get a gambling sponsorship, I would not mind for platchat since yall getting the bag 😂
Slmn is DONE with this year!

11:30 AVRL, maybe, just maybe, this might be, because the meta revolves around haz, who is the most broken thing I've seen
Hazard is mad weak lol. Get killed instantly
should 100% should have combined FP and clash
like maybe a week ago i just realised that ive never seen the control map antarctica played in any face it owl or owcs or calling all heroes etc matches and now i really want it to be played
The BS at the end is amazing!
How many times Avast says "like" in this episode?

REINFORCE U ARE MY GOD FOR SAYING OW CLASSIC RANKED AND 6V6 SEASON
Sf shock is the team that got me into esports, I loved overwatch and I live like 20 mins from San Francisco, unfortunately this is just another sign to keep playing rivals
Lmao
Same dude, they were my start and I’m near San Jose
Glad to see that awful org & Fraud Miller is out - won't be missed
Regardless of your 6V6 or 5v5 I don’t think where tanks sits in 5v5 is sustainable.
bald

I'm out here dancing on the Shock's grave. Good riddance.
Why? Not sure the point of the hate
Say you were a Gladiators fan without saying it!! lol
@CGTradez absolutely noy. Im repping ATL, HO
the escort map pool is bs, they picked the worst maps.. i rather watch circuit that can even go over 6-6 and be exciting

Wrong. As per usual, I’ll have you know Kiriko can’t fly!
(She can fall with style)
I personally prefer 6v6 gameplay wise, and I can understand people preferring 5v5, but for me 6v6 pro play was infinitely more fun to watch
I loved the Sig, Hog meta in 6v6, in game and in OWL.

@ sig hog was fun to watch, it just screwed over some teams
