If people harp on us for booing Santa 50+ years ago, going wild after the Super Bowl win, among other notable instances, we should get just as much attention for essentially fixing Trea's year. It was all mental for him, his struggles. Giving him that Standing O showed we cared about him, we backed him, and he went off
💯💯💯. I'm so sick of that santa story being brought up to this day. People better start acknowledging that were more than that and do have a soft spot
Same thing goes for the response we got from Alec bohm when he faced a similar reaction from the fans…passion goes a long way
Agreed! Oh, and by the way... It was just a guy in a santa suit, anyway 😉
No one will care about us fixing Trea because they all love to hate. If they don’t understand the passion behind “destroying” your city then they won’t understand the passion behind fixing a slumping player
Couldn’t have said it better. And equally couldn’t have said what Kruk said better either , “son of a gun I love this place”
All thanks to the Philly captain for starting the idea for the standing O'. It's been so fun to watch this August
who
@@NATUR3F33LS He's a Philly youtuber /personality.
Who
Pretty sure that was Jack from WIP he said this before philly captain ever posted about it
it was spreading on twitter before that guy tried to take credit for it
My dad and I were at the game with the Standing O. Both of us seasoned Philly sports fans who hadn't heard the internet chatter about doing it, we expected the city to show its love the only way it's ever known how: with an onslaught of boos and jeers. We were both pleasantly surprised when everybody started standing up and cheering and figured we might as well join in.
Hats off to the Philly phaithful for finally learning how to use a little positivity to support our team.
Finally learning? Did the same for Bohm
“Finally“??????
Then you have the audacity to call yourselves “seasoned Philly fans”.. If you were actually “seasoned Philly fans” you would recognize the absurdity of the statement you just made.
I thought that was so awesome how the fans encouraged him instead of discouraging him, and dang it paid off in a big way! With my Tigers done for the year, I'm now on the Phillies bandwagon for the postseason! Go Philly!
Please go cheer for another team. Go be sanctimonious elsewhere.
@@alexandriaocasio-smollett5078Yall boo your own guys so relentlessly you have a reputation among the fanbases of the other teams in all 4 sports. Phillies fans were booing Trea relentlessly before this. Philly is the last fanbase anyone would expect this from.
It's amazing what a man can do with some support
that called bomb from kruk was outstanding! love it
That was amazing 😂
Everything from Kruk was great. "Yes! YES!!" Lol
Also crazy coincidence, I was listening to the radio broadcast and they were talking about how Trae had hit 8 3-run homers to that point, and one of them said now would be a good time to get number 9. Both color guys called it.
He always calls them
If I'm not mistaken, he took the blame for a loss in a post-game interview (rightfully so) and that's when we started supporting instead of booing. Like with Bohm last season, we reward honest and humility.
I love that no one held a grudge last season with Alec's 'I hate this 'fing place'. It was a comment made in the heat of the moment, he apologized.. a genuine apology-no one held the comment against him and we all moved on and continued to support him.
@@Stefanie2530 another example of how we just want our players to accept responsibility for f***ing up. When they genuinely do, all is forgiven.
best fanbase in America, I love my city!
I've never seen a player become so good again so quickly, and I think this is the story of the year in the MLB. You never know what's going through a player's head, after all they're nothing more than humans that are just super talented. Sometimes a little extra push can really be the difference maker
I get choked up every time I watch this. Trae turned around completely but it wasn’t just him , the whole team seemed to respond.
We love Trea ever since he got here. Yeah he had a very slow start but everyone, even Mike Trout, can go through a slump. And ever since that standing ovation Turner has been on fire. We don’t regret signing him in the slightest. He’s a great guy and a great ball player and he proves both of these everyday he’s on the field.
Trea is a type of player that you feel good about supporting because he is unassuming, classy on and off the field, and super talented. Not a Philly fan, but how can you not be a Trea fan? He is awesome to watch. Smooth swing, great speed, and has risen to the occasion to turn around a season that didn’t start as anticipated. The man is finishing strong. I was sorry to see him leave the Dodgers (my team), but happy for his success.
Best sports city in the country argue with a wall
John Paul on ch 6 was new last fall & he was doing standups at The Bank. He said he’s lived & worked in other cities who also love their teams but they he said he’s never experienced anywhere like Philly before.
We’re built different. Just lucky, I guess!
We’re all human at the end of the day, We recognized Trea needed our support and thankfully he received it well
Trea Turner is looking great.
Not just hitting but hitting in clutch spots, love it!
Hopefully this continues into September and hopefully into October
I’m not even a Phillies fan but I want tree turner to win World Series mvp just to shut up idiots on Twitter.
Your hope was enough
We never quit on McNabb or Ben Simmons… never quit on supporting Trae and he is delivering! Can’t wait for the playoffs!
you guys kind of did quit on ben albeit he didn’t wanna play but sixers fans treated bro horribly
@@jonathannovembre4562 We supported Ben until it became clear that he wasn't trying to help himself. He refused treatment, refused therapy, everything.
Not supporting someone who isn't trying to do better.
see what positivity can do
"I love this place" ❤️🔔❤️
If Harper and Turner get going at the same time, watch out.
They just did all this month
someone hasnt been watching...😏
@@HughMungus4655Hugh Mungus wot!? Hugh Mungus HITS, BABY! 😂😂
Have you not been watching the past 4 weeks?
that's what they saying to Trout and Ohtani, Cabrera and Fielder, Judge and Stanton
We Love You Trea Turner 7️⃣ 🔴⚪️⚾️🔔🤟🏾
Vote for the philly captain he fixed trea turner
Who?
Every player goes through a slump. There is no way you can play an entire season and not struggle at some point. Trea is "turning" that into momentum and is becoming a complete slugger. Phillies are dangerous when things start heating up for them. Watch out.
Trea finally showing the league who the best shortstop is, I just love this guy and he has been electric
Patiently awaiting another Red October.... Let's Go Phillies!
Kruk called that 3 run bomb
that was a darn impressive august. i usually start watching baseball in septober but glad i started a month early this year!
Best team in baseball rn
Still is!
I hate the Phillies, im a braves fan, but I always loved trea turner and his playstyle. He's really good in almost every facet of the game
This is awesome. I wish the Toronto fans did this to Alek Manoah
9:07 I absolutely love this 😂
Seriously Trea is one talented hitter. If Phillies get some elite pitching behind them watch out.
Trea's in the upright position!
Lol
Phillies new phavorite son 😎👍 it’s a Philly thing phor sure
I love Trea Turner show much i’m number seven in baseball ⚾⚾⚾🥎🥎
His batting stance, leg kick and follow through is my favorite in MBL, especially that follow through!!!1
I love that bat twirl and drop after a homer. Lol
I was there for that first game against the the Royals. He was 0-2 I think, and got booed both times he was retired. After he hit that 3-run homer, everything changed. The fans were giving him a standing ovation. I'd never seen anything like it.
Trea-mendous!
Go Trea!!
Such a good story.
Hopefully this shows that Philly fans truly are some of the greatest and most passionate fans in sports. But please keep mentioning the drunk guy who ran on the field dressed up as a fictional Christmas character at an Eagles game 55 years ago to fuel your agendas.
Love you Trea❤
LFG Phillies
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Billy Beane
I know that swing. St. Louis...
I did it, and counsel, bat drop...before them young men. I have receipts.
Beautiful swing. (Keep it tight)
LOVE INSTEAD OF HATE WINS EVERYTIME!!!
It's happening
9:01 John Nostradamus - I mean Kruk.
Just kruk doing kruk things lol
0:41 Catcher thought it was a pop up because of his swing 😂👌

Baseball… is.. romantic
Sounds like POTM to meeeeee
Can the whole world of sports just take a moment to think about how "
Trea's corner?
Knowing these people are likely also flyers fans, this hurts me to say, but... Nice job phillies fans.
Zooming in close to a home run ball is the stupidest thing ever.
this is why u should fix mlb th shows graphics and fce scans for mlb players since they're so inaccurate
One of the classiest things I've ever seen from Philly fans. Best thing I ever saw eagles fans do was throw snowballs at Santa claus
Been a phila fan for 60+ years and live in Ohio.
not me. he is 1 for 22 at the moment.
It’s fine. He was white hot through August and it wasn’t like it’s gonna last forever.
Learn, Mets and Yankee fans. Lmao!!!
I guess you could say that he's TURN-ed things around lately.
Wonder what would have happened if 76ers fans did this with Ben Simmons
Ben quit on the Sixers long before the fans quit on him.
They tried it plenty of times, it just didn't work.
1st?
black nigja suit up for the 2024 season when moose becoame a beisbol time
Philly faithful? They were booing him like a month or 2 ago
You don’t understand sports, do you? Guy signed a 300 million dollar contract and was batting a career low .230 before the standing ovation, as well as many errors defensively that were mostly routine grounders. Anyone from any organization would be booed by any hardcore fan base, and rightfully so.
Philly fans stuck with him through 4 months of horrendous baseball and look at the outcome? A few standing ovations turned into one of the most productive months in his career.
@SavoyPrimeable I actually understand sports alot. To turn on a guy just for the 1st half of the season. Then jump on saying "I knew he was gonna bounce back" they knew what they were getting isn't phillys philosophy trust the process? I think that's what the 76ers say? But what im saying is how are they gonna say philly faithful and trea turner in the same sentence.
@@Hashtonkusher1
1) Booing is part of the game. Ask any player who has ever played any sport professionally.
2) No one “turned on him”.... booing someone isn’t turning on them 😂 It’s communicating displeasure or frustration.
3) The fans literally gave him multiple standing ovations and snapped him back to the Trea Turner he’s always been! Why? Because they knew who he was and knew he would snap out of it. The fans did that!!! He might still be in a funk if that didn’t happen. How is that so hard to comprehend?
4) Point 3 proves no one turned on him. You don’t give someone a standing-O you turned on.
Oh now those heathens live Trea Turner. 🙄
"the city of brotherly love" lol yea if he's playing alright, otherwise these same ppl will boo you into the dugout if you're not playing up to their standards
That makes zero sense. Trea wasn’t playing up to his own standards and they gave him a standing ovation. You will get booed for putting up a bad effort. I do agree Philly isn’t for soft people so it might not be the city for you.
So do we now give a standing O for Nola and our entire bullpen?
