Great video! As a Wushu teacher and a Soto Zen practitioner I understand what you mean by Chan & Quan as a unity. That 's what I try to explain and teach to my students. That Wushu is more than just the physical aspect of the training, but the inner practice is very important too. Yin & Yang in a dynamic balance developing together. Thanks again Shifu 🙏

It makes me very happy to know that there are Shaolin Temples all over the world. I am old and have practiced both the marshal arts, and Zen for a long time. When I started my practices there was only one Shaolin Tempe and it was in China. I hope that in my next life that my karma will allow me to enter one of the temples as a monk.🙏

You don't need to be born next life to learn in Shaolin, what you must start examines why you want to be learn there, what you seeking? Lifestyle or ego fullfiled?
Chan Is Buddha teachings of truth of law universe Dharma..
And Chan is free because of Prajna Wisdom and emptiness of self ,
You already have healthy fit body because learn martila arts, and have basic Zen of awarnes.. Just learn more Buddhis principles teaching, meditate in relax, examine our minds.
Just be good, not do the evil hings, examine and purified the mind.

Find some Guru and Community to helped you learn and build your path..

Or you even can visit some monastery and center, be volunteer there so can be learn and have good merrit and experience like how to living in monastery first then go to Shaolin with your family if your time and finance to see yourself, how is really Shaolin life from morning till night by your own eyes and how to applied in our daily life.
If we don't understand the reason and essence, everything will be just ordinary rituals, or daily job routine without any meaning... 😌🙄😽

Your dog is like my cat, follows you/me everywhere, and part of everything 😹 😻👍. Thank you for showing us your beautiful ceremony and ceremonial hall. When I was teaching many years ago, I used to rent space at the Wat Thai Buddhist Temple of Los Angeles, and inside the main temple was so beautiful and good feeling. We need to have a similar set up for women as they traditionally only do for men. I know I needed that type of environment back in my 20's as a student, but I had to make do with my ShiFu's class and my own practice and life style. And lastly, that's a great shirt 👌✌ to be a great warrior (or great anything) one must have a calm mind. would you say this would be a good year to practice our hops 🐇🐰🤣 - take care!

Downtown LA used to be such a fun & wonderful place. Now, the last time I was there visiting the Disney & Music Center, & its surrounding areas, I felt like sitting down on a bench & crying! What has happened to the indigent, the people who work in the beautiful building, & the well-designed common area parks is a crime. Although their behavior doesn't help them, generally, most blame the homeless population; however, the systems those in power are implementing + those who are electing them, in my view, are responsible for the debacle. Attended Our Lady Queen of Angles school & lived near Chinatown for many years of my youth. It was such fun to take the bus to visit the Central Library & treating myself to a great meal at Clinton's Cafetería. What happy days! Now the smell of urine & feces permeates most of the Downtown area, + the filth is unbelievable 😳. Hope for a better tomorrow for this area that, on its own, is a beautiful place. 😍
@@Redwood-Rose Yes, very sad. I lived in Santa Monica, and we had a huge homeless problem there too. It's very sad. I think that's an issue with all the large cities. Let's hope someone can come up with a brilliant idea, to solve this problem. Wishing you a happy new year too.

That's I was just say Zen to avoid confusion. The Chinese were the first to bring Buddhism to the U.S.. But most Americans are more familiar with Japanese Zen and or Tibetan Buddhism. It's cool there's more temples now. There's Cha'n and Pure land temple fairly close to me.
