I'm looking for a 335 more than a V. I've never seen it do metal, but who's to say it can't!
All I can say is that I have a Jackson King V Pro Dave Mustaine MIJ from 92 and its the best guitar I have. And I have a LOT of high quality guitars....
@@irmasil3 It's no secret that Dave loves Jackson. He even tried buying the company before Fender got a hold of it. You can really get some get some good deals on Jacksons of that era. However, Jackson MIJ quality of that time was HORRIBLE! It was so bad they closed down the factory.

This current line up is like a band again and Dave confirms it. You can tell he let Kiko and Dirk into his circle and they are able to contribute to Megadeth in a way that was missing for years. My favorite line up since the 90's, by far. And the new album shows it.
@@goofykid2027 Outside of Ellefson, Dave hasn't kicked a member out since 98 when Menza was fired. Every member outside of that left on their own. The more I listen to Dave recent interview, the more I believe he is in a happy place right now. It also reflects in his newest album which is heavy, fast, and very nice to listen to.
I dunno, the fact that he'll let Gibson control his speech like that (making him call Dean "The Company") came across as weak and sell-outy to me. I lost a bit of respect for him here. Not a fan of the new album, either. Much like Priest and Maiden, Megadeth hasn't put out a really good album since the 90s imo

Great interview! Dave seems so content and happy right now. Even when he wasn't in a good place, he always gave a good interview. Singing is a hard craft. Generally I've never been into singers. I like people who can use their voice like an instrument. Dave may not have a conventional voice but he uses it to the greatest effect. Having a 'proper singer' wouldn't work. It wouldn't be Megadeth.
That's insane, of course but I think a good acoustic is always much more than an equally good electric ...and it's Gibson, so that's probably their idea of affordable.
Dave has switched brand so many times and always said they were the best guitars he's ever played that I can't take him seriously anymore. I'd bet money he'd still buy Jackson if he could at the drop of a hat.

But, he had Jackson for many years, the Dean for a lot of years, and now Gibson. But, what's the contradiction? He is going to say what he plays is great because at the time it is. You grow up, your taste changes, and you appreciate things for different reasons. You can tell he's more into the family vibe at Gibson, and that helps shape the way he talks about it. And, since these companies essentially make the guitars to his specs, of course they will be great for him. And why would he say they are the best he's had? He's refining the specs with each guitar.
