    I daily drive mine and don't even own another car. I haven't had TOO many instances where people stop me and want to talk about it, but generally when I'm in a hurry, I'm not stopping anywhere to start with. Other than that, I think your video is spot on.

    If You want to daily drive Corvette in Europe, your life becomes much harder. The gas is more then two or even more then three times more expensive. Parking places are thinner so You need to worry about car mirrors.

    • @HorsePowerObsessed

      Wow. I thought gas prices here were bad...

    • @therealjoshtodd
      @therealjoshtodd 6 років тому

      Yeah I was stationed in Germany a while back and gas was definitely expensive if you weren't using vouchers. As far as the parking goes, that's the same situation here in the states if you're talking a parking garage. I NEVER park the Z in a parking garage. I park out in the boonies, at least 5 spaces from the nearest car and up against a curb if possible so that no one can ding the curb side and i've got a lot more space on the non curb side in case some asshat decides to park next to me.

    One more point to daily driving a vette: I just threw this on before heading out for work at 2:30am.

    Love the content man, great info. I will keep my car now or upgrade to a Explorer or Cherokee for my daily driver just for more storage and room. I think most would be wise to consider another car as a daily driver. Keep the mileage low, while having something better for the snow. Also if I plan to go into the city, I wont want to take my Corvette and parallel park where just about anyone can scrap you or park you in lol. But it's good know that you could daily drive it if you wanted.

    With the new mag ride update it is now a good ride in tour mode. My wife and I take a lot of road trips and that was the only thing that prevented me from buying the Z06. Now I will be buying either the Z06 or the ZR1 with the new tour rid update. My son has a Z06 and since the mag ride update it has been terrific in tour mode. The update to the Z06 made it ride just like non mag ride Stingray in tour mode.

    I daily drive my Stingray here in Indiana. I don't really have a commute for work, so that helps in the winter months. Great video as always, lots of good points made. The practicality of these cars is surprising. The trunk space on a C7 coupe is easily twice what I had in my G37 coupe. I'm planning on getting the Mag Ride update that's supposed to retune Touring mode to be even more comfortable and track mode to be more hardcore.

    I have a "89 C4 coupe that I got new in 1989 and I drive it everyday (Chicago, Texas and now San Jose ,CA )and I can verify everything that you said about daily driving, especially the constant attention that you have described. The gas mileage doesn't really concern me much because at some point we all have to buy gas ( and as you know THAT'S PREMIUM GAS ). The luggage capacity is absolutely dead on. And I am very glad to hear another corvette owner say that your mood definitely is perked up when you drive anywhere. I had a guy track me down in the rear of a grocery store to ask me if I were the owner of the white corvette, and that was about 2 years ago here in California.

    Great job with this video and it you've answered some of the questions I have about z06. Getting ready to retire in three years am thinking about z06 as a daily driver, which won't be too much of a daily driving in FL. More or less a symbolic for me of having one and take it to track (only in my mind for now, not cleared with the wife yet..). Definitely a pre-owned C8 or C7 z06 in three years. Thanks. Looking forward for your next video of your thoughts since you made this video and if you have anything else to add, such as you still liking it as daily driver, pros & cons, and etc...

    Hey man so you mentioned that you used to have a 370Z. I currently have a 2009 370Z that I bought new. Last year I was in Vegas and rented a corvette stingray convertible and fell in love. I wanted to get the stingray but after going to a dealership with my wife and seeing the stingray, GS, and Z06 side by side my wife said I can only get the GS or Z06 because they look sexier. Would you recommend getting a GS or Z06? I went from a 2003 Tiburon GT, to a 2006 370Z, then 2007 Mazda CX-7 (wrecked the Z....sigh), then 2009 370Z. The jump from the Tiburon to the 350Z was mind blowing to me. I’m just afraid that the GS won’t be as much of a shock for me compared to the Z06, would you agree coming from a Z owner. I know 460hp for the GS from the 332hp of the Z isn’t anything to laugh at but 650hp for the Z06 puts a smile on my face just thinking about it.
    I guess I really value your option as you can relate to my situation a bit better as being a former Z owner. I wanted a GTR but the maintenance is more than the vette and I really want a manual before manuals disappear.

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  6 років тому +1

      Absolutely, man. I can totally appreciate the situation you are in. I am slightly biased, but after driving the Stingray my wife and I rented for vacation one year I was not totally sold on it until I looked at and test drove a Z06. They are a Stingray on steroids basically lol. In my opinion I'd go for the Z06 over the GS just because of the additional power. I'd rather have it and not need it than the other way around!

    • @woodymammothwoodworking
      @woodymammothwoodworking 6 років тому

      HorsePower Obsessed - lol yeah you make a very valid point. I guess I’m trying to rush into getting a vette. I could easily purchase a stingray right now but I’m from Illinois and wouldn’t get to enjoy her much as winter approaches. If I save (which I aggressively am) I can get a GS next year. If depreciation works in my favor I could get a Z06 next year which is what I’d love. Lol my wife said she likes the ZR1 the best but I said you’re gonna have to go work full time if you wanna make that jump. Well I’ve become a subscriber and keep the videos coming.
