Johor MB: New Special Economic Zone could reduce Malaysian workforce migration to Singapore

The Johor government is optimistic that the establishment of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Special Financial Zone (SFZ) will help curb the outflow of locals seeking employment in Singapore.
During a dialogue session marking the one-year anniversary of the Madani Economy on Saturday (Aug 17), Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi highlighted that salary differences are a significant factor driving Malaysians to work in Singapore.
Meanwhile, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, who also participated as a panelist, expressed the state's commitment to the success of the Southern Gateway Economic Corridor in collaboration with Johor and Negri Sembilan.

It should not just reduce migration, it should also bring back Malaysians especially Johoreans from SG. From 1mil -> 500,000 maybe within the decade.

Harap tak membuka peluang kepada warga asing dan meminggirkan rakyat malaysia sendiri.
SEZ konform la kerajaan tak boleh kawal pengambilan pekerja. sebab semuanya bergantung kepada kehendak pihak swasta sendiri untuk menggaji siapa yang mereka kehendaki.
nanti bermacam-macam alasan akan diberi oleh swasta untuk mendesak kerajaan membenarkan kemasukan pekerja asing ke SEZ.
sebab mereka nak untung banyak jadi kena cut cost. mestilah pihak swasta nak ambil pekerja asing yang boleh digaji dengan kadar upah yang murah dan sanggup bekerja sehingga 30 jam sehari.

It is only possible if the wages is the same or near to rate as S$. Maybe it the other way round, singaporean coming to work in JB but getting paid in S$.
