The most amazing thing I’ve seen on Broadway. My jaw was on the floor by the end of the ballet.
I know people have mixed views on this version of Oklahoma but oh my goodness, when I went to see the production in the Wyndham Theatre, the cast were spectacular. This part especially had my jaw on the floor the whole time, it is truly brilliant in my opinion.
I know it may be hard understanding without context from previous knowledge of the show but for me this part was absolutely stellar. The dancer for this scene smashed it out of the park!!
I didn’t think this rendition of the ballet was very clear to the audience. You’d have to know the original to understand what was happening. But wow, the music. Incredible stuff!
Why? What was different about it?

How did the R & H organization approve this?
The laziest, sloppiest production in history with the excuse of "re-imagining" the work. Why? To employ less than average "actors" with high school level skills? Could none of them dance? I was embarrassed for them.
Ok, boomer.
Felt like I was apart of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew. Except those movies were funny.
@@OstrichRidingCowboy What you don't understand is that you are inadvertently complimenting those of us who hold these views with your 'original' response. I am nowhere near the age of the baby boomers, but I envy their life-experience and accumulated wisdom. It's a badge of honor to be a 'boomer'. Hope you get there someday.

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes the attempts to "modernize" the originals just succeed in ruining them. Write something new if you want to, but don't destroy a classic!
