I have just purchased this kit. I hope the company sends you all the kits they make as you my friend are a great modeller, fantastic film maker and to top it all off are a genuine nice honest guy
This is my second wooden ship kit and the first was 30 years ago! After watching Alex's video series I jumped back in for my second attempt, and I am not at all disappointed at all. Between following Alex's words and the enclosed instructions I could not be any happier with the results. The hull is complete and I am ready to keep pushing on. Thank you, Alex!
Thank you very much! Your video's are very informative and clear. What I realy like is your blue background, it makes it all so clear specially with the robes. I startet with the same model a few years ago, but a broken shoulder, bad eyesight and shaken hands (80 years), I have just made the hull. But now, after your vide's .....!
I don't think you need to apologize; it's only a model and your first wooden ship model. You did fantastic work! Mistakes are expected. The more you do it, the more you'll improve. I hope you've continued making more.
Its not a secondary channel! This one is Occre Official UA-cam Channel! Were you can find videos and visual help on building some of the best wood ship models in the world and i feel honored Occre uses my vídeos on there channel as a reference and guide! Stay safe!
Thanks for these videos! This is my second wooden ship model; my first had a resin hull, so this will be a more advanced model. It looks like the instructions have good details for the rigging-- I didn't have anything like that for my first model, so I just had to do the best I could. How long do you think it took you to build this? It looks wonderful!
Thanks a lot Ben !! :) It depends on many factors: the level and experience of the modeler, the level of detail you want to give it, the time you can dedicate. :)
My only fault with these models, not your construction, but the models themselves, is that at a 1:100 scale, if you were at a distance that people usually view models, you would not be able to see the warp and weft lines in the woven fabric of the sails if viewing the actual ship. The fabric used for sails on these models is way too large, not to scale and looks a bit off. I've had good success using paper as sail material, especially paper dipped in tea and left to dry to give a weathered and aged appearance. After drying you may need to iron the paper if it wrinkles.

What a good episode. Again, the jazz ambience really makes this video so relaxing. But why do you have a secondary channel?

¿No sería más cómodo coser las velas antes de colocarlas?
