I received both the February 2021 Sew Sampler Box and the December 2020 Quilty Box on the same day. (The Quilty Box was delayed due to supplier problems.) I decide to unbox & compare these two competitors.
🎇 What do you think? Do you have a favorite? 🎇

I wish Quilty Box would come back. They made such a great box of lovely fabrics. In my opinion, they were much better than Sew Sampler, but I enjoyed your video.
I really loved Quilty box too and wish they were still a subscription.
I would love to see what you choose to do with your fabric for the first box. I love the green pillow i seen that you made very pretty.
Awe, thanks Barbara. I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
For value for money the FQS wins hands down!
Hi Lizzie. Thanks for your nice comment & for watching. I’d love to have you as a new subscriber. 💖🙋♀️💖
Nice boxes, beautiful lady!
Thanks Stefani! You're too kind! xo Lisa
Loving your black and white kitty you got behind you!!🐈❤
I cancelled the Quilty Box subscription after receiving 3 boxes and only partially liking one. I was furious that they valued a quilt label for $15.00 and really disliked that entire box. I cancelled Sew Sampler subscription after receiving boxes for 2 and half years. It was so much better in the beginning and just got progressively worse. When a subscription gets to the point where you wouldn't buy anything in the box then it's time to move on. I now get the Sew Yeah and Ginger Quilter subscription boxes - I've loved everything in each one and the value is terrific.
Hi Gina, agree boxes do change over time. I reviewed the Ginger Quilter box a long time ago and it was a very cool box. Her business has really grown over time. 😊 I'll have to check out the Sew Yeah box. Thanks for your comments.
Same. Sew Sampler has gotten repetitive and the quality has gone way down over the years.
I usually love the sew sampler but your quilty box looked better to me this time!
The fabrics are definitely prettier. I find the Sew Sampler patterns much easier to follow as compared to Quilty Box's patterns. TFW Fallon. Hope you're doing well. xo
I love both boxes and would love to subscribe thank you so much for the video😊.
Yes, they're both very good boxes & I love getting surprises. I hope you're subscribe to my channel, too. Thanks for the support. 💗💗Lisa💗💗
Hi Lisa, my favorite box was the Sew Sampler because I would fit in the begininer category.
Yes, this quilt would be perfect for beginners. You can do it!
Thank you so much Lisa
Hi Lisa! I love how you compared the two boxes. As you know I’m pretty sure I would have picked the quilty box this month. ☺️. Hugs!!!
Thank you Rene. Yes, I prefer that fabric, too, it's more my style. Hope you're doing well. Hugs Back..xo Lisa
Quilty box for me.
The fabric was gorgeous in the Quilty Box. xo
Looks like some nice supplies for you to play around with! Hehe I love the teal color pin holder.
Yes, it's nice, but I ended up selling the entire Sew Sampler box. TFW xo
I was confused by the tracing chalk too. Typically those are used for tailoring/clothes making while using paper patterns. I do not understand why they wasted the money to buy and include that thing in a quilting box.
Yeah, I was confused by the whole thing, too! I found some videos on how to use it, but I'm not clothing maker so I'm not sure if this tool is for me. Thanks for watching and I hope you come back to see more videos. xo Lisa
Because if you are going to make really intricate patterns to quilt your top after assembly, it can be nice to have the chalk pattern on the top already outlined for you to quilt over. Otherwise, if you don't have chalk lines, then sometimes your quilt pattern can be lopsided, or quilt lines aren't straight, etc. I also use chalk when I'm making half-square triangles, etc, and want a straight line to stitch along so I don't go off course. Always have a chalk pen ready to use. A lot of people don't quilt their own tops, they take it to someone, and then you probably wouldn't use all that chalk other than a couple colored pens for those triangles, etc. The tracing wheels are used like the chalk, only they leave an impression instead of a chalk line. Nice if you don't want to have to wash chalk lines out of your quilt after quilting.
@@PeleLua1 I get the chalk but the tracing wheels are used to trace over paper patterns usually, something that doesn’t have a bare area you can use chalk with. I guess I just haven’t seen a lot of paper patterns that I’d need to use a tracings wheel on for quilting. Again it’s a great tool for making clothes and stuff but for me as a quilter I do not see myself using the tracing wheel. I’ll use the chalk refills in my other pen but I’ll likely get rid of the bulky one they sent since I have really no use for it.
@@kambyr Obviously chalk is more common, but I also have two different kinds of tracing wheels for quilting (I don’t sew with paper patterns unless it’s to put a quilting pattern on my quilt, and then usually it’s not paper but a stencil) … more commonly used wheels for quilting are the ones that just put an impression on so you don’t have a chalk line. I haven’t seen this box up close so no idea what kinds of wheels or chalk. You had just mentioned you were confused why they would be in a quilting box, and my comments were to that point. You might look up “Pattern Transfer Paper”, it’s used a lot for appliqué too, it’s gotten more common that pressing or chalking lines in with pencil or wheel.
FQS wins loved everything in the box!!!!
I’m glad you liked the box. The subscription is a great value. 💖
I’ve been subscribed to Sew Sampler since Oct 2019! Hands down the best quilting/sewing notion subscription box available for the money. I was very impressed with this months box for February...the fat 8ths and panel paid for the box alone! Having some Bella Solids on hand is a wonderful thing, if you plan on not making the project of the month. Thanks for your comparison video...you have a new subscriber!
Hi, yes, the value with the SS is always there and the solids were very good to have. So happy to have you as a new subscriber. I love comments on my videos. TFW
I know this is a couple months later but quilty box has an EPP box and they use the same bundles of inspiration pamphlet...that box gives you the template and papers for the EPP project 😀
It’s never too late to comment so thank you for letting me know. 😊I hope you come back again soon. xo
Hey girl I really loved the purple fabrics in the Quilty box. Love the bright colors of the fabrics in the Sew Sampler.
Hey Girl, yeah, pretty things. Gotta make something soon. The days and time run too fast for me. Taking a few days off soon to see my Marine. Hugs to you and Sugar. xoxo
@@thehouseofjane lucky! My army guy is deployed to Latvia
Thank you SO much for sharing these ........ I've not yet tried either....... like the quilty one better.... maybe :)
Thanks for your nice comments & for watching. ❤️
Hi Jane, great unboxings, both boxes were good :)
Thanks Shanice. Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Quilty Box. I did not like the fabric in the Sew Sampler.
It wasn’t my favorite either.
I think u got some really good stuff in both boxes.
TFW have a great day Bethany. 🦋

I love the Quilty box! I tried contacting paper pieces to see if I could purchase this box. No reply. This table runner and fabric are what I have been looking for. Any suggestions?
Yes, I’d periodically check their shop on their website because they often list previous months subscriptions for sale. I did a quick check yesterday and didn’t see any, but maybe they’ll post some soon. Also, you can message them on Instagram or leave them a comment on one of their posts. They usually are very good at replying on post comments.
@@thehouseofjane thank you!
@@susangoodin2631 Hi Susan, I just saw the December box on QB’s website for sale.😊
@@thehouseofjane ohhhh i must go purchase!!!!! 💝. I ordered it! I cant thank you enough Jane! Sending hugs 🤗.
Hello beautiful Lisa!!!
Hi my foxy friend!😁

Yes, I tend to agree with you.🌞
FQS BY A MILE!!!!
Yes, I have to agree.
