Bring the story of Susano'o, his horse-throwing at his sister and his redemption by defeating Yamada no Orochi. Come on, a hero god face a giant multi-head snake demon, what is cooler than that?
Actually the crocodiles in this story weren’t crocodiles at all. Instead they were Wani, Yokai that are a fusion of crocodile and shark. It also maybe the inspiration for the Pokemon Gyarados.
Can you please do Extra Mythology about Hikayat Amir Hamzah? The story is embedded into Malay culture so much so that many other tales here have connection to the story.
Wow, deceiving crocs and jumping on them is same with Kancil (mouse deer) story. I always wonder why myths and legends sometimes has similarity even though the origin is far away
Another parallel between Indonesian and Japanese folklore; Timun Mas and Sanmai no Ofuda, both of which features young protagonists throwing three little things to escape their pursuers. Not to mention how Momotaro also seem to be connected with Timun Mas in certain elements (being born out of a vegetable/fruit and fighting giants).
