    Alex sold me my first big muff and a fish and chips eq at Midwest exchange in Bloomington Illinois a good long while back. Ever since then he keeps popping up on UA-cam. Pretty cool! Still have those pedals

    Amazing video, I really wish all the companies had a video(or series) like this to provide each amps unique sound ✌

    Having been a tube snob for decades, I never believed that I would come across a solid state amplifier that could "replicate" a tube amp with all they joy and feeling a tube amp brings. Then Fender came along with the Tonemaster series of solid state amps and after owning a Twin Reverb Tonemaster for a number of years. It sounds as good as a tube Twin Reverb at a fraction of the cost, a fraction of the weight and with no heat production.
    Spend a few hours (not minutes) with both, blindfold yourself and ask a friend to plug you into both amps dialing in the exact settings while alternating both amps a number of times in no particular order. You will hear and feel no difference. Through the years I've tried Line 6, Vox and other solid state amps and was disappointed. Not so with Fender. They got it right. At the end of the day, play through whatever makes you happy, but I strongly disagree that tube amps are superior in any respect. After 65+ years of playing and instructing professionally, I seriously doubt if anyone in an audience would be able to tell the difference between a tube or solid state amp---or even care for that matter! In my performances, I've never had anyone complain. That being said, kudos to Paul and everyone at PRS for producing beautifully crafted guitars. I have a collection of all the brands and popular models and while all of them have been great, my PRS Standard SE 2408 is as good as if not better than all of them. Great quality at a reasonable price. Thanks PRS!!!

      @@FGC_Archer Evidently you missed the comments starting at :027 seconds of the video. Alex literally says, "These are things you can kind of do in the digital world, but it's not the same experience. You cannot replicate the feel of a great tube amplifier in anything other than a great tube amplifier". This is a fallacy in my and other professional guitarists' experience. Alex goes on to say, "A great tube amp will help you become a great guitar player" Really? There is no amp neither tube nor solid state that will help you become a great guitar player. If an amp exists that can do this, the manufacturers would not be able to keep up with production and orders. Only perseverance, dedication and practice will help you become "a great guitar player." At the end of the day, and if you take the time to thoroughly review and pay attention to the first portion of the video, you will realize that "this literally has EVERYTHING to do with this video".
      Other than that, I wish you happy picking!!!

    Doug Sewell is a tube amp genius. The early stuff he did for Paul were the best; simple controls, nothing fancy, sounded good any way the knobs were turned. His amps when he was on his own are amazing. Paul was lucky and smart to scoop him out of Texas.

    I love my PRS guitars but I wish they'd would bring back the SE Kestrel bass and maybe add something new like the option for a maple fretboard this time. I think it's great that PRS has expanded their amp and pedal lineup, but it's a shame they don't have at least one bass in their SE line anymore.

    PRS, should make the new SONZERA 20 in a head format. Everything else they make is available in a head so why not the Sonzera 20 ? Not everybody wants or needs a combo. A head would surely sell just as well as the combo. PRS, if you're listening, feel free to respond or better yet release a SONZERA 20 Head. I'll buy one and so will many other guitarists. Thanks !

    • @Bandersnatch786
      @Bandersnatch786 2 місяці тому +1

      It's not the FX loop. It's EMF across components. They took the Archon 50 circuit and just shrunk it down without spacing the components out properly. It's a badly designed amp.

    • @AlexAfterwork
      @AlexAfterwork 2 місяці тому

    • @JohnWiku
      @JohnWiku 2 місяці тому +2

      @@Bandersnatch786 It has nothing to do with that.
      The noise issues ARE unshielded cables coming in and out from the FX loop circuit, if they replaced this with shielded wire, there'd be NO noise!!

    • @Sperzel
      @Sperzel 2 місяці тому

      @@JohnWikuit’s not that easy either unfortunately. The physical placing of the loop jacks next to the power transformer is also a major contributor to the problem. They would need to redesign the circuit board and I don’t think that’s happening.

    I was so excited to get the MT100 the day it became available to the public but after 4 mins of plugging it in and playing it, the lead channel completely died as well as a loud constant hum on the clean channel. Even after checking all the tubes, it still didn’t fire back up. I sent it back and got myself a Revv Generator 120 MKIII and I’m very satisfied with it but I was so disappointed that the MT100 I got was such a lemon. Turns out there are a lot of other players who had similar issues with theirs. The MT15 was such an awesome amp (which I still have) but the 100 needs some serious work in the QC department.

    You guys need to fix the MT15. It's an absolutely unusable amp as it is. Change the master volume knob to an audio taper and space the components properly so that the whole thing doesn't buzz. You took an Archon 50 circuit and just shrunk the size down without any considerations for EMF and expected it to just work. It doesn't.

    • @recub13
      @recub13 2 місяці тому

      I have a first run mt15. Sounds incredible and not overly noisy at any volume on both channels. Are the newer ones designed differently?

    • @andrewbecker3700
      @andrewbecker3700 2 місяці тому

      @@recub13 yep, there's multiple different versions with various upgrades. There's videos about it. Mine is stamped 2018 on the boards. Has the 6L6's and the upgraded harness, with those white clips to hold it up. The lead channel needs a noise gate obviously. But that's somewhat expected. The one I have does exactly what it's supposed to. I'm not sure what people expect. Yes, the master volume pot has shitty taper. Doesn't stop me from using it.
