I also pack away my Christmas towels and clothes with the decor. I use it for wrapping breakable items and it does not take up room in my closet and cupboards all year. Another thing I started doing is packing away the seasonal candles that are not used up.
Hi Jen!! So glad you liked the birria! Each state in Mexico does the birria different my favorite is Jalisco style birria. Claudia regalado here on UA-cam has a super easy delicious best birria you will ever have. I highly recommend her for so many recipes now that you are branching out.
This was the highlight of my evening. I wait until I'm in bed, about to wind down, and I watch your videos. It's like my version of a bedtime story because at least somebody's house is clean. 😄 I really appreciate all the content you post and the planning you put into your videos. I hope your 2022 is off to a great start.
WOW! Jen, I tuned in to your video this morning and had to soon double check it was you I was listening to because watching what you were doing made me think of watching Pati’s Mexican Table! You were actually cooking authentic Mexican food! Kudos to you girl! I too have watched Simply Mama Cooks a few times but thought I’d never be able to attempt all the steps required. But watching you gives me some hope! Thanks for the video
It's Saturday the 8th, and I just now took down my Christmas decorations. I switched to the "bins by room" method a few years ago and it's a lifesaver. I used to take everything down and stick it on my dining room table (where it would sit for 2 days LOL), then try to figure out what to put in each box fit everything in boxes. I do have multiple bins for certain areas and for those I have a list of what goes in what box so I don't have to play Tetris every year getting everything to fit. For ornaments, I do layers with thick sheets of bubble wrap in between each layer. I also pack them in order ... the ugliest ones or ones I don't really care about go in first, so they go on the tree last to fill in the back of the tree, or deep inside LOL. all my most cherished go on the tree first so they are the last ones to be packed away so they can be first to go on the tree the next year.
My kids are 30 and 31 and this was the first year I didn't get them each a new ornament. This was the first year my son had a big tree as he bought his first house and he was so excited to put all his ornaments on his tree. My daughter has been using her's for years. Great memories.
I love your nails! So pretty. And I love that you leave in the chopping/cooking sounds. I like it better than background music. Something soothing about it. Omg Jen...come make me those tacos. Holy crap they look fabulous. And I will never make them... Do you still have/use the hydroponic garden thing?
I absolutely enjoyed watching you prep and clean Jen. Entertaining as always. It's a joy to see your furry child Murphy. All the best in the new year for you and your family!
great quote at the end, love it and don’t understand how people can judge others meanwhile their lives are not perfect. and like you said they will never understand until they are in the arena. Love your tradition with the ornaments for your kids, such a cute idea!
Is there any better feeling than a clean house after the holidays?! I do miss the pretty lights also, but I enjoy the fresh space afterward. Those barrio tacos looked amazing. I don't have the patience, but there is a restaurant close by that makes them too and they get rave reviews! Happy New Year, Jen!
I just love your videos. I enjoy watching them in the morning before my kiddos get up. We are still doing distance learning so this Momma definitely looks forward to your videos to help start my day on a positive note.
Hi Jen. My Mom did the ornament every year tradition too. We have kept up the tradition with the next generation. My nephew is a senior in high school and will be heading off to college. He is excited to have his own tree next year. . You are making wonderful memories for Keira and Conner.
In my family, godparents gave their godchildren an ornament every year, same scenario with ‘theme’. This went until we graduated, then we got a tree topper (an angel) then a nativity scene the last year. I love putting all this stuff on my tree every year. I have ornaments dated back to 1973. We’ve found that we can’t fully use our angel toppers though. Twenty-five/30 year old lights aren’t safe. My cousins angel started on fire a couple of years ago. Thank God she was home!
Great video! I love your videos like these. I used to love eggs, but after I had my kids I they make me nauseated. So I substitute green beans. My grandma used to have themed Christmas trees, but I have always had trees with multicolored lights and colorful ornaments. I can't imagine my tree without the ones my kids made. I always think it is decorated with love that way. I really enjoyed this! Thank you for posting it!
I can so relate to your Christmas dishes purchase. I was collecting the Pfaltzgraff Winterberry collection and now I have a full set. I pull it out in October and put it away in February because if you have two sets of dishes, you should use them!
I totally agree with you about pre-lit Christmas trees... Ours is the same, the lights NEVER work. So frustrating. We have had to string our own lights too. Such a waste. I do the same with special ornaments every year for my kids, this is the first year I didn't get them an ornament.
I have been watching Angelica for some time. She cooks the way my mom taught me. Have you watched Rachel loves to cook? She is great too. Thanks for a new video. Wishing you the best in this new year
What a great quote! Your so thoughtful with things. I miss the Christmas decorations too but yet love the way our homes look all clean with a few new things or arranged furniture just a little differently. Fresh start for the new year- right?!
Great video Jen .. love the view of the snow! Those tacos look so good. I’m going to try and make them for Super Bowl weekend. Happy Friday! Hope y’all have a great weekend!
I love the ornaments for your kids. I started this too when I saw you talk about it last year or the year before. Thank you for the lovely idea! Though I may cry when the day comes for them to take them!! ❤️
Loved this video!! Got my house back to regular on Monday but I do miss some of my Christmas decorations but like you going to try to keep my poinsettia alive as long as possible.
Jen everything looks great 👍. I love your house it always looks inviting and comfortable. I know you were going to show us your basement so I was just wondering if you are still wanting to do that? I hope you have a wonderful day. 🙏🤗❤️🇨🇦
Jen, we had a devastating fire at our home two nights ago. Pretty much a total loss, minus some salvageable things. By the grace of God, an off duty police officer saw the flames as we slept and woke us all up. Myself, my husband, my two kids and two dogs got out. I thought I had lost my phone in the fire, but the fireman brought it to me. So watching this video today is extra special 💗 thank you!
@@MsK_1111 honestly it was a miracle. It could have been a lot worse. So sad to see the house my husband built burn, but we are safe & things are replaceable.🙏🏻
Great video Jen!💕 I love moma cooks ! I've been using her recipes for a cpl years now, you absolutely have to try her broccoli beef the one where she "leathers" the beef over night or I did anyway, in eggs and soy sauce and such, omg taste just like a restaurant beef so tender!! Its the broccoli beef recipe from 1 year ago not the 3 years old one(: Just wondering if you have heard of that before(: its been awhile so I hope I'm remembering right lol💕💜💕
We also have an eclectic tree and I would not have it another way! Hate "undecorating"! And love Simply Mama Cooks - I checked her out after one of your December videos and can not wait to try some of her recipes!
I do the ornament thing for my kids; however, I just buy an ornament or let them pick one then write their name and the year on it. My grandma did it for the grandkids when they were little so I just do it that way. Some years they get several if my dad or mom gets them some. My grandma hasn't done it for years now though.
I have bought my kids ornaments every year, for 20 plus years, with the plan of giving them the ornaments one day. When do I actually pass them off? Do I give them to them when they get engaged? When do you plan on giving your kids the ornaments? As I was undecorating the tree this year, I thought how weird the tree would be without their ornaments on it.
The Birria tacos looked delicious. What is the brand of the bowl/fry pan that you used several times? Look super useful. A cross between a fry pan and a Dutch oven. Also, what happened to your "salad greens" tower? tfs
Love your video. Question, how do you get your gas burner tops stain free? Have the same stove and the rounds that go on top of burner have dark spots!
Hi Jen I am so sorry to be getting back to you so late I told you Christmas night that I would tell you what was wrong with me as I’ve been sick the only thing they told me was last week they said I had a double ear infection they gave me anabiotic‘s for that I have no better so I went back this week and they said it could be possibly something viral it’s taking me a very long time to get over it and I am so tired of being sick October I had an upper respiratory infection November I fell and hurt my foot and then in December I got sick and his carried over to January not been the best start to the new year hope you are feeling good and thanks for all your videos
Taking the decorations down feels like the ultimate reset in the house for the new year. 😌 Hope 2022 brings many great things for you and yours. TY for putting out so much awesome content in 2021! 🎊🎉

I second the recommendation on claudia. Seriously the best!
I love Lenox! I have several ornaments by Lenox and they are precious 🎄💕
It always feels good to have the house back to normal after the holidays.
I hope you and your family had a great Christmas and A Happy New Year
Loving all your Mexican inspired meals content! Birria tacos so yummy!

Simply mama cooks seems like she has the sweetest personality 💜
I made her beef birria tacos quite a few times. Soooo good!
Wow those tacos look delicious!! I've had birria tacos on my cooking bucket list for awhile now, thanks for the inspo!
Love Simply Mama Cooks! Her recipes are authentic but she makes them simple to understand ♥️
Oh good!! A bedtime story. Thanks Jen...as always perfect timing!! 💜💜
Love the Mexican dishes you've been cooking lately!
It's funny, I was just wondering how you were doing and here's a video! Those tacos look really good!
I do really love the ornaments for the kids every year. That is wonderful. Enjoyed this. Love your organization with putting all the things away.
Really enjoy your videos. Something relaxing about watching someone else cook and clean. You have a beautiful home.

Happy New Year’s! I wish you an amazing year ahead. I think the magic of the holidays is in the traditions we get to relive and pass on. 🎄💖
Oh wow how smart about the separate bins for each area!! Definitely doing that next year!
Always enjoy watching you cook and I learn so much! Thanks, Jen!
That is a really great quote to have framed. I believe Brene Brown has that quote at the beginning of her book Daring Greatly. Such a good read ❤️❤️
Go Jen! YOU are in the arena! Love your channel!
I love that quote! Happy New Year! 💐
I found the Krud Kutter in the automotive or camping area at Walmart last week. Wouldn’t have thought to look there. Hope that helps.

Would love to be eating those tacos!
I am also a fan of that quote! Was nice knowing you are too. 🤗
Now this makes my Friday Night!😉
Can't wait to try the tacos. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good afternoon Jen! You always motivate me to get more done! Excited for the meal inspiration 💗
I am totally making those birria tacos this weekend 👀🤣🌮

I have always wanted to try these tacos! I don’t see them in the uk 😩 thanks for the recipe!! Have a great week
great video 😊
Happy New Year! You have such a beautiful and warm home. Shout out to Mr. Murphy - 1/8/22 is National Labrador Retriever Day! xoxox :))
What a beautiful home you have

Where do you find your daikon radish? I can’t find it by me.
Usually healthier grocery stores like sprouts

Check Fareway for the Krud Kutter if you haven't :) Ours has it.
We Hispanics season everything with chicken, beef or tomato bullion 😀
With a vitamix you usually don’t need to strain the chili
💕❤️
