one thing i've noticed, is your saxophone customized? i can see a long rod at the left hand side extending to the top octave mechanism at the neck; a small tone hole can be seen. someone correct me if im wrong but i assume that the extra mechanism has something to do with alternative/altissimo notes? EDIT: i've done a small research, it's actually a third octave vent. the sax he used was probably the Selmer Paris Alto Saxophone Series III Jubilee
a lot of the virtuosic violin pieces have chords, therefore impossible on saxophone. it wouldnt sound the same with just the top note or bottom note of a double stop
May have been a requirement from the conservatory, stress as mentioned before, who knows. If you want a better saxophone rendition of the piece check out his transcription on baritone sax: ua-cam.com/video/zvmLaDxHJws/v-deo.html you will likely enjoy it a lot more. Cheers!

how happy would Adolphe Sax be if he could see what his invention has achieved ?
yes
He’d be looking at Coltrane and bird not this

I see the strings players sitting behind him smiling. I wonder if some of them are jealous, because I certainly am. The sax is a legend.
*Supongo que se rien porque los caprichos fueron escritos para Violon y lo esta ejecutando en un saxofon.*
Yo tambien estaria sonriendo, de lo hermoso que suena ;D
The sax is very much a legend, just the sad thing is that it is not featured in orchestra as much.
Je pense que les violonistes ont un sourire un peu condescendant

yes! It is the harmonic key that was introduced on the Series III Jubilee as a customizable neck option!
What the fuck is that
My self esteem went 📉
Very impresive. It seems that he can play most violin concertos but in sax. Certainly most violin concertos can be played on the soprano sax. I think.
a lot of the virtuosic violin pieces have chords, therefore impossible on saxophone. it wouldnt sound the same with just the top note or bottom note of a double stop
Rishi Puri that's incorrect because technically you can sing long with playing a note to create a interval.
@@kaibibi The double stops can kind of be achieved with multiphonics, but they don't have the power that they can have when played on the violin
@@kaibibi that might stop you from playing it note for note, but many violin pieces could still be adapted quite well.
The other problem is that a soprano cant hit a low A (concert g) unless they have a low A extension

So big respect

ABSOLUMENT FABULEUX !!!🎶🎷🎶🎷.
i had to watch this twice; once to focus on the music and another dedicated to staring at the faces of the orchestral musicians in the back lmao
makes me giggle when i see the chamber orchestra behind him all smiling
Unsane!!!! Ufffff... The sax must be on fire in the end!!
the altissimo was extremely clean and smooth
Impressionante, maravilhoso, primeira vez que vejo a obra de Paganini no saxofone
His tone is impeccable.
Amazing sound! Great performance I wish to be this incredible at the sax
