Hi Nate! It's martin, idk if you remember me, I edited some of your videos a couple years ago. Just wanted to say that this content is firee! 🔥 Love the pacing, the jokes, the way of delivering the info, all of it. Nicely done man, keep it up!!
11:25 Exactly! Most of the time when I see players not being able to mimic a good penultimate step, it's not because they weren't actively trying, it was because their body prevented them from going any deeper/faster into those steps. Even when I showed them step by step on how to do the penultimate, they would end up either hopping into their jump or start too fast and end up jumping at the slowest speed.
@IsaacG36 my first tip to start on working your jump technique is to start slow, finish fast, until you grasp the rhythm, then you can try going into your penultimate step at higher initial speed. It takes time, but it's necessary in getting you higher. The thing is, our body will prevent us from going into a jump at a speed it knows it cannot handle, i.e, a speed that would likely injure your knee when you plant your support leg and/or block leg at high speed. The way to fix this is by lowering body fat and get your tendons to be stronger, then comes muscle later. There are instances where athletes self-injure by their muscular strength generating more force than their tendons and ligaments can handle -> this leads to injury. So, get to low body fat, train your tendons to be stronger, then practice your penultimate step. Having stronger tendone and lower total body weight will show their results once you practice your penultimate step, you will feel that you can get better technique through those 2 things.
Was hoping if I trained my anterior tibs more, that the cops a couple miles down the road from you, aka "dawn there," (Yinzer Accents don't come across well when typing), where I'm at in Brentwood, would be as chill and knowledgeable as athletic perform training as "yinz city caps".....internet lied again! Seriously though, great content, a lotta great free game, much appreciated! keep, keeping Carrick on the up and up,... hopefully it'll extend to "the M.O." as well 😂
I re hurt my left ankle slipping when I planted for a dunk recently, the first time I slipped on a sweat drop on a basketball court. I wanted to get some jump reps in so I low rimmed dunk and I had a lot of fun, and it made me think of something. It made me think of Devon Larratt. I know he’s an arm wrestler that is heavily on steroids but he hurt his arm armwrestling and he said he healed it through arm wrestling ! He just arm wrestled weaker people that he knew he could beat but would still be somewhat challenging. We always want some fancy exercise for pain and yes they help but sometimes doing what got you hurt in the first place but a lower level might be the best exercise to get you back to health ! Nice video man maybe now my wife will sleep with me 😂
Hello nate, I have a question on your free jump program. If I do phase 0 although i rarely have knee pain, will it protect my knee and make it healthier, or will it be a waste of time? Appreciate it!

@@QuangNguyen-vf3nz thank you so much, i love you
@@QuangNguyen-vf3nz what workout do we do to get our tendons to be stronger?
@imhim3711 As far as I know, slow and controlled squats + isometrics are the best at this.
Hands down your best video by far! Well done !
I appreciate you brother! 💪🏼

nice one
Appreciate it!
I used to be big on low carb diets. But then I realized that the weight you lose from low carb is mainly just water weight.
Also, as an explosive athlete, restricting carbs also hinders our performance. I learned this the hard way.
If you cut carbs would you look leaner?
This video too funny 😂😂😭😭
fire
Appreciate you 🤝
Hey, coach, do pistol squats and their progressions help with your vertical jump?
Yes, 100% they do.

I would just skip it and go straight into Phase 1!
