I got to spend time with their son Sean Lennon and Mick Jagger daughter who he was dating then and all the members of The Strokes after Sean opened up for them , an acquaintance of mine played bass in Sean's band and after the show Sean his girlfriend and all The Strokes members went downtown to the East Village and got piss drunk! Sean was brought up well by Yoko because he is a very down to earth guy! The concert was in beautiful Central Park here in Manhattan!

People always have to create fairytales around their idols. John was hardly the adoring, doting husband to Yoko. The stories of his infidelity and public humiliation of Yoko are voluminous. Not that I'm a fan of Yoko's. But, his songs are not who he was. They may reflect a PIECE of him, but they're just songs. John's legend is not who he was.

@@e.l.norton I have absolutely no sympathy for Yoko and think she got what she deserved as she was after all having an affair with John while he was still married to Cynthia - poor Cynthia came home after being away for a couple of weeks only to find Yoko sitting in her home and wearing Cynthia's own dressing gown, gazing in to Lennon's eyes....Yoko and John treated both Cynthia and Julian abominably and Yoko continued to do so even after John died. I don't believe she broke up the Beatles, but I do believe she is a truly shameful specimen of humanity and a talentless hack who coasted along on the shirttails of her famous second husband. I love John the musician and artiste, but as a man he was cruel, selfish and abusive....he was badly broken (just a fact and not intended to excuse his behaviour) and as a result caused a lot of pain!

This still hurts to listen to. The album it’s from was released right when he was killed, so this song was on the radio during that painful time. I loved him with all my heart. First celeb death that devastated me. Especially as he had finally found such happiness.

The truth about Yoko was that she was one of the few people outside the band who stood up to John's more destructive tendencies, and he was well on the way to becoming a much better person when his life was cut short. She provided the space for him to grow into the person he always wanted to be, in a sense. Which makes his death all the more tragic.

It's a beautiful song but it makes me so sad. He had been away from a music for a while being a stay-at-home dad, raising Sean before he started working on this album. It was supposed to be a return to what he loved doing, making music. I am a huge Beatles fan and the first album from John in 5 years was such a big deal to me. Three weeks later he was shot outside his home and this whole album was forever associated with that tragedy for me. I cried as you were listening to this.

@lady jane Do u mean the affair that she pushed on their young assistant to have with him, while she was having an affair with a man named Sam? There is so much more to say about this woman but I don't have enough space. Yes, he reluctantly did it, and the disrespect she had towards his wife cynthia and Julian. John is at fault for this as well, but the greedy heifer wouldn't for years even give Julian what was rightfully his after john died. She auctioned off his personal belongings, and even postcards he wrote to Julian and what little money she decided to give Julian finally,he spent alot trying to buy back his father's things. I love john lennon's music, but this woman was using him to try to further her imaginary career!!

First it shows Yoko alone after John is gone and you can just feel her pain, second it shows a horrible picture of a dead John that the national enquirer snuck in and took, and third it shows the picture of John with his killer. Yoko didn't break up the Beatles...growing up did. You have to remember, 7 years of beatlemania, took it's toll.❤👊

People say she's one of the main reasons The Beatles broke up I don't know how true that is and frankly I don't care I think John deserve to be happy and so did she I believe they were soulmates and meant to be together whatever happened because of it you know that woman went into deep Sadness and Sorrow when her husband was taken from her so tragically it affected the entire world imagine how it felt to her😣✌️❣️

Someone has likely already mentioned it here, but the guy in the background at 3:54 was Mark David Chapman who shot & killed Lennon 12.8.80. Earlier the same day, Chapman was standing outside the Dakota and held out an album which Lennon took & signed for him. Photographer Paul Goresh captured that moment.

It's heartbreaking how his older son, Julian and his mother, Cynthia Lennon were cast aside.. Julian was a small child when his father left his family behind for Yoko Ono...

The comment section, mostly full of praise for Yoko and the love she and John shared... Shame some of that love couldn't have been extended to Julian when his dad died so he didn't have to go and buy at auction, all the mementos that should have been given him but were refused by Yoko....

An interesting bit of trivia: before he became famous John Lennon was in a band called the Beatles.

Death do us part, deeply dedicated love combined with human faults! Who am I? to dare question, John's Muse (how much should one dignified Woman endure? obviously, as much as the 'press' and others could possibly to dish out. She's still standing! (Although now more time in a wheelchair) Please keep exploring this Fab world. Thanks, Peace n Love
