Okay, as a Christian , Protestant, I think these buildings are huge grand examples of architecture. I attended a modest church, with my grandma's Methodist chapel even smaller. Since Jesus was a humble shepherd, does all of this grandeur represent him, and his teachings. I think this would overwhelm him, I don't see humbleness.🙏💓@@courtneypollard2770
The Catholic Church does not believe and teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore it is a false church. My advice is for you to start attending a Bible Church in your local area that stands up for the true Gospel outlined in the Bible.
More lies from the pagan church. The Catholic church was founded by the Roman Empire. The head is the bishop of Rome. Jesus Christ never lived in Rome. They are a representative of the "ruler of this world"
Hi Manuel, many years ago, I visited the Vatican. I attended a mass in the space just behind the Baldacchino. Also, I walked up the winding staircase, up the cupola to the rooftop viewing area on the peak of the cupola, overlooking the Vatican Gardens below. Then we walked around on the roof of the church to view the gargantuan statues lining the colonnade. I also remember a small shop located on the roof as well.
Wow bravo! you really took the time to put the word of God right into the cathedral. It really brings the place to life to know what it says. God Bless you
These translations all appear to mark a stamp onto the structures; like we own these now! My guess is these structures were much older but claimed by the Catholics around the 1500s. These translations are invaluable, thank you for doing this 😊
Before this domed basilica was built in the Renaissance, there was an older basilica in Romanesque style that was built in Emperor Constantine's time. And before that, there was an old graveyard and the edge of Nero's Circus (racetrack) complex, and Vatican Hill (aka Bardic Hill, because a vates was a prophetic bard).

Thank you for an excellent translation. I have had discussions with some of our Protestant brothers and sisters who claim Catholicism is rooted in paganism, siting the obelisk . I wish I knew the translation at that time to explain the significance of its representation of Christianity’s victory over paganism.
The Roman Catholic Church, *as an institution* with a consensus on the doctrine (specifying with the Nicene Creed the statement of belief, that is, in what exactly Catholics believe), was created by Christian bishops convened by Emperor Constantine in the Council of Nicaea in AD 325. Before that, there were hundreds of small Christian communities in the territory of the Roman Empire with different beliefs, with no consensus, and with no canonical scriptures (there were more than 30 gospels until the canonical four were established, along with a consensus on the doctrine).
@@ManuelBravoEarly Church Father appealing to the Bishop of Rome within a hierarchical context is found in the writings of Ignatius of Antioch. Ignatius, in his letter to the Romans, expresses a unique deference to the church in Rome, acknowledging its prominence within the early Christian community. In Ignatius's Letter to the Romans, he writes: "Ignatius, who is also called Theophorus, tothe Church which has obtained mercy, through the majesty of the Most High Father, and Jesus Christ, His only-begotten Son; the Church which is beloved and enlightened by the will of Him that willeth all things which are according to the love of Jesus Christ our God, which also presides in the place of the region of the Romans, worthy of God, worthy of honor, worthy of the highest happiness, worthy of praise, worty of obtaining her every desire, worthy of being deemed holy, and which presides over love, is named from Christ, and from the Father, which I also salute in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father."
@@ManuelBravo"No consensus" is a stretch. Generally, there was a lot of consensus, albeit not complete consensus on the details. The writings of the Church fathers corroborate this, showing a great number of near universal beliefs, beyond just the Creed (which merely addressed fundamental beliefs about the Triune God to counter Arius). If this were not true, you'd see tons of conflicting views and writings regarding theology beyond what was codified, and condemned as heresy by the Council. Yet, on the contrary, there were a great number of beliefs that were taken for granted and held near universally, despite not being talked about at the Council
Jesus was a Jew and he worshipped the true living God Yahweh. He was sent to earth so he could show us how to worship Yahweh our father in the correct manner and to be sacrificed for our sins. The Catholic Church corrupted the truth and injected false beliefs into Christianity.
You are ignorant of Scripture and the writings of the fathers in faith in the early Church. Jesus Christ established the Church and changes Simon Barjonas name to Peter , Mathew 16:13-19. He gives Peter the keys of the kingdom signifying authority. You must be an ignorant Protestant otherwise you would have read Iraneus in the 2nd century writing confirms the office of the Papacy. @@ManuelBravo
the inscription at the dome of St. Peter's for me is one of the most important verse in the catholic faith as a whole because this symbolizes how special Peter is and his role in Christianity and its enduring legacy will continue to all eternity just as intended by Christ himself.
And yet the rock upon which Christ built his church was Peter's confession or acknowledgment that Christ is the son of the living God. I never understood why papists want to interpret this to mean that the church was built on Peter, or any man. Peter died. Nowhere in scripture does it say that he passed down any power or responsibility. I would rather belong to a church with Christ as the bedrock and cornerstone, than a man whom Christ scolded as Satan, get behind me.
I think they say that the church was built on Peter in a more simply figurative way, because the latin name Petrus has the same root than the word "Petra" that means "stone" or "rock" and actually has the same meaning.
You never believed it because of you hate for Christ and his church on Earth. Because you're on the outside looking in and use that hate to justify yourself.
@@geordiewishart1683 Papists, or those who are a member of the Church founded by Christ, believe that Christ founded His Church upon Peter because _that's what He said_ . No, Jesus wasn't talking to Himself about His Church being founded on Himself, which your sect translates as the body of Christ. It's absurd circular reasoning. You're a bible literalist right? Or is that except when it's inconvenient for you? Yes, Peter died. As did all of the Apostles. Did the commission and power that Jesus gave them just die out? No. This is where the so-called papists understand the concept of Apostolic succession. The early post-Apostolic church understood this and it is well documented in writings of early Church fathers. Which of course, your sect doesn't do. Sola Scriptura is invalid btw. Not all things are contained in the bible (which the bible itself says) and faith is not conveyed by scripture alone (also from the bible). Rather than trying to stand on what you think the bible doesn't say, maybe pay attention to what it actually does say without attempting to explain it away.
When Jesus changed Simon Bar Jonas name to Peter, Peter was a non name. Jesus didn't just change his name he gave him the keys of the kingdom as well, to bind and lose he says, you seemed to have left that bit out. You must read all of the Scriptures to be a faithful Christian and not leave the bits out you dont like , as Protestants tend to do. @@geordiewishart1683

Excellent - thanks! Reminds me - I took a year of Latin in 9th grade all boys Catholic school. This is a great idea to translate these words in the Vatican. I love history and you just put a great spin on this part of the story. Thanks, again!
This was great. I wish you also translated the faded latin inscriptions from the obelisk itself. Im not aware of any other youtuber expounding these essentials translations. It would be interesting to hear the latin from the inscriptions from the arch of titus and augustus and constantine
Such a simple concept. Yet I was spellbound. Because it was also a unique video, transporting us to the building history of this building through age old inscriptions. It was a treat to hear you read the texts. A feast to follow the words in those beautiful roman capitals. A joy to try to interpret them before you gave the translation. Thank you so much. Oh, and your question about other translations... you might find some texts that are unexpected, with a double meaning or a twist. I guess both Romans and renaissance architects liked to hide clues, just like brilliant composers like Bach did in their compositions. It might be a way to say something about a building and its builder through those clues.
We as a civilisation don't think in allegorical terms anymore. I tell people who have not been aside from any religious aspect it is so visually overwhelming that your jaw hits the for after about 20 seconds and after about 30 minutes your brain really can't process any more. You really need to go see it then go back again to be able to take it all in.
Miles de gracias, casi me haces llorar de emoción ya que estuve allí hace 1 año y no me di cuenta de esos importantes detalles. Gloria a Dios!!!! Gracias de nuevo
Thank you so much for your translation and the images to go along with the translation. Would love to see more translations of Latin in other churches in Rome. One small criticism the Catholic Church wasn't founded by the Romans. It was founded by Jesus Christ. I believe one of your translations about Peter made that point. The Church was often persecuted by the Romans but was finally allowed to exist in peace.
The Rock on which the Messiah would build His church was "Peter's answer", which was the Christ, the Son of the living God. By no means did, or would, the Messiah build His church on a person as fallible as Peter, who would deny Him 3X before the cock crowed.

@@fabianosampaio6000 it was Constantine, I believe
Young man, you've done a wonder for so many of us. Thank you. Your work is noted.
Thanks for another fascinating video! Never really thought about what was written there until now. Very genuinely interesting!
This is so, so awesome. Thank you so very much, Manuel.
Thank you for an excellent translation. I have had discussions with some of our Protestant brothers and sisters who claim Catholicism is rooted in paganism, siting the obelisk . I wish I knew the translation at that time to explain the significance of its representation of Christianity’s victory over paganism.
Victory over paganism by making pagan symbols everywhere ???? Sorry but that's nonsense
What a wonderful video. I'm so happy this appeared on my feed. I look forward to watching more of your work. Thank you so much! ❤
Thank you . Latin is a beautiful language
I love the church
Do you love how it protects paedophile clergy?
Thank you for your time.
The Church was in Rome long before Constantine converted, and was not founded by the Roman emperors, many of which persecuted the Church.
In Ignatius's Letter to the Romans, he writes:
"Ignatius, who is also called Theophorus, tothe Church which has obtained mercy, through the majesty of the Most High Father, and Jesus Christ, His only-begotten Son; the Church which is beloved and enlightened by the will of Him that willeth all things which are according to the love of Jesus Christ our God, which also presides in the place of the region of the Romans, worthy of God, worthy of honor, worthy of the highest happiness, worthy of praise, worty of obtaining her every desire, worthy of being deemed holy, and which presides over love, is named from Christ, and from the Father, which I also salute in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father."
Clever awareness & awesome translation! You would not believe how impressed I feel! Thank you!
the inscription at the dome of St.
You never believed it because of you hate for Christ and his church on
Earth.
This is great! I’ve always wondered what it said and I couldn’t find it anywhere. I love the inscriptions inside, I think it looks so cool
This is insightful and helpful!
This was greatly needed! thanks!
Thank you! I learned so much (and am starting to remember some college Latin)! I’m especially interested as I never learned how the Roman’s pronounced Roman numerals in written/read Latin.
Excellent - thanks! Reminds me - I took a year of Latin in 9th grade all boys Catholic school. This is a great idea to translate these words in the Vatican. I love history and you just put a great spin on this part of the story. Thanks, again!
Marveling once again at your incredible videos. I couldn't wait for the Spanish version and I saw it in one go... hahaha!! 😂😂😂 thank you so much
Thank you so much for this translation of the beautiful latin inscribed in the Vatican, Manuel!! May the Lord Bless you for your efforts!
This was great. I wish you also translated the faded latin inscriptions from the obelisk itself. Im not aware of any other youtuber expounding these essentials translations. It would be interesting to hear the latin from the inscriptions from the arch of titus and augustus and constantine
So good to hear this. I have forgotten a lot about latin & greek from my school years. Grazie mile Manuel🙏👌
Thank you very much for your translations . Excellent work !
Excellent and very interesting. It really contibutes to the understanding of the spirituality behind the Cathedral.
So very interesting , your language abilities are impressive as well. Thank you very much! Enjoyed it!
I love your Latin pronunciation.
Manuel, you have the same Roman accent in Latin as the great Pontiff Pius XII. Thank you for bringing his memory back to me.
Just the fact that you can read Latin, is worth a 'follow'.
Thankyou for translating these for us. Very interesting.
Great work 👍
Interesting and educational

Congrats on 400K!
Miles de gracias, casi me haces llorar de emoción ya que estuve allí hace 1 año y no me di cuenta de esos importantes detalles. Gloria a Dios!!!! Gracias de nuevo
Amazing!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH...Been trying to learn to read it on my own... This was a great help!!
Bravo, you are truly incredible…. Always a pleasure to watch your work. Thank you.
Excelente! Deberías tener documentales en grandes canales por el Mundo !!
Thank you for taking the time to educate us. 👍💕
I love being Catholic. Cool video
Excellent! I too always try to read what was written on old buildings, monuments, graves, everything...
The Rock on which the Messiah would build His church was "Peter's answer", which was the Christ, the Son of the living God.
By no means did, or would, the Messiah build His church on a person as fallible as Peter, who would deny Him 3X before the cock crowed.
I went there on Christmas Eve and funnily wnough was fascinated by the inscriptions.
Now the UA-cam algorithm has sent this video to my feed.
Thanks for uploading this, watching with great interest !
infinitos obrigados Manuel!

Hello Manuel Bravo, thank you for this video. I learned something new. Keep up the good work!
Manuel, the Catholic Church was not founded by the Roman Empire. For at least 300 years it was persecuted by such empire. Many martyrs are testimony to that time.
