Ive just started needle felting and just love your videos. thank you for sharing, but one area I am stuck on is knowing how firm the felting needs to be at particular stages, for example when you are attaching the face to the head? should the head be marshmallow squidgy ( love that term) or firmer,
Hi, thanks for getting in touch! With firmness generally everyone is different with some people felting really firmly and others super squishy. For me, if I'm adding something, like a face or arms etc, I'll felt a bit more firmly. You should be able to add without flattening or completely misshaping what you've already felted. If you start adding and you find the head starts to indent stop. Go over the whole thing again so that it stays in scale and then try again. When adding features you can also build up slowly using layers of wool and not stabbing too deeply. This helps if you don't want to felt too firmly. Hope this helps.
