"Tota- misunderstood. The most misunderstood of all misunderstandings... For heaven's sake." I love how defensive Tom is of his character. Same Tom, same.
Totally agree. I think if someone else plays the character, Loki can be represented very differently. There is something about how Tom plays Loki that makes me feel for him and see the soft side in him.
Haha Hugh's face at the very end. Priceless. Loki - the most misunderstood of all. Perhaps a cuddle would sort him out. Love these answers. Yay English people.
@@kayleeescobar6828 ikr...Some people will say he'll kill you after he hugs you but no... as long as we are no threat to him he won't hurt us at all. I don't think so.
I always feel like that to Tom Hiddleston Loki is a very endearing character, much like a little brother or a child of his own. I'm not sure if it's because he's been portraying the character for quite a long time and reprising the role several times in multiple movies so that he's been through a psychological journey through the mind of Loki. Or if it's because it's simply his breakthrough role in Hollywood so that he loves it very much. It's just that it is very apparent (at least to me) that he cares about the character very much, in almost a personal level.
To play Loki the way TH has, I think he HAS to have love for the character, and that shows through in his portrayal of the role -- and so we all love Loki, too. (Well, that, and TH is unbearably HOT. . . . )
@@donnahagen5742 exactly. Tom is the one that brought dimension to him. He could have been just another evil dude trying to take over the world but Tom brought something to him that maybe you feel bad for him or at least understand where he’s coming from and those are the “bad guys” you remember most, maybe even more than the heroes
Tom obviously watched "Yes Minister". It was a fantastic series. His second answer comes very close to what they say in the series about why GB was in the EU. Hilarious.
Cece Cheung and he apologized like he was really sorry . im ksjsjwkowow T____T why he do that to my heart . who would even show a reaction like that . HE UNDERSTANDS how important books are for people over the movie

StitchGV me neither; I'd say the movie is the tip of the iceberg, a key hole's insight compared to the book. We only saw snapshots of Snape's life, memories etc.
Tom’s so cute when they say Loki. He’s thinking “ooh! Loki! That’s me darling! He so misunderstood, I think we should all just go have tea with him!” And then when Trump comes and he’s just like a 5 year old and thinks of the fun side!
TheLadyWinchester He absolutely is a bookworm, but his tastes clearly tend to veer more towards the intellectual than the outright entertaining. Harry Potter is very entertaining but lacks the intellect of a writer like John le Carré.
writerchick10 let's put it this way; it is far more -nay- EXCEEDINGLY intellectual than Twilight. Just observing Rowling's writing style is evidential enough, yes most of the content is entertaining, full of detrimental humour, but it takes quite a keen eye to pick upon the eloquence and wit.
there just all saying misunderstood for all these characters nice to see Tom hiddleston again back in action for The night manger can't wait to watch :) he's so adorable Tom :)
Vi esta serie the nigth manager, una palabra para describirla: angustiante, sería emocionanante si fuera el tipo de cosas que me gusta ver, pero los espias y los informantes, ay caramba, terror, que agallas para tener ese tipo de trabajo.
Loki just needs a father figure in his life and Odin didn’t give that to him nor did Laufey (his actual father). Frigga is the only one who understood him.
'i am a guest in this country and cannot comment on political affairs'. *dying* (for the record i would have said 'bad egg' for all of them. i LOATHE snape and Loki. sorry tom. love you)
Natalie Zayas-Bazan dude!?!?! Really!?!? The whole point of these antagonists in general is to seem misunderstood and relatable, which elevated the plot and brings moral issues. This is true of Loki. Where Snape is considered, if you have read or seen hp at all, then it is made clear in the concluding moments of DH than he was a good guy all along. Can’t believe some people, but no hard feelings.😄
"But I observe one of the most interesting electoral process ever to take place anywhere in the world" Hugh clearly doesnt know whats happening in Brazil haha #notothecoup
How is Snape's character arc different in the books vs in their ecranisation? I'm confused about interviewer's remark, because to me it doesn't make any difference...
Olivia was the only one having fun I think. There’s nothing wrong with games, but why not ask this stellar cast of actors of this caliber some deeper and more interesting questions?
There are multiple "serious" interviews with the same setting so clearly they were doing rounds of interviews that day, so this little fun game must've been a nice break. They all look like they enjoyed it.
"Tota- misunderstood. The most misunderstood of all misunderstandings... For heaven's sake." I love how defensive Tom is of his character. Same Tom, same.
Tom is my favorite
Totally*****************
Hema Malik Nobody loves Loki like Tom loves Loki.
Totally agree. I think if someone else plays the character, Loki can be represented very differently. There is something about how Tom plays Loki that makes me feel for him and see the soft side in him.
i literally said "oh my gosh, thank you, thank you so much for understanding him" when the other two people said misunderstood too XD
When Hugh pretends not to know who Trump is at first. "Basketball?" Died.
lcel pb : I like Hugh Laurie. Smart man.
Considering the size and fragility of tRump's ego, that was a Hughe burn 😊
"Did we all see the last movie?" ahaha. His expression at 2:12
the way he covers his mouth and says "sorry" when he said he didn't read the book. adorable!
he loves snape ..me too
@@anoziraflaminghot That reminded me of myself: I never read the books, but I saw the movies!🤯😍
Read the books. Don't get what she means, no difference
@@livb6945 exactly I was confused by that too

Damn, he's potter head too!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️💚💚💚💚💚

The way Hiddleston defends Loki😍😍
Loll = lots of Loki love 😘🖤💚💛
I love both Hugh's and Tom's answers to Donald Trump. Very interesting and diplomatic.
Tom obviously watched "Yes Minister". It was a fantastic series. His second answer comes very close to what they say in the series about why GB was in the EU. Hilarious.
My heart broke just a little when Tom said he hasn't read the Harry Potter books 😂😂😭

It takes a lot of time... Could've listened to Stephen Fry's audiobook while running though.
'I wish you all well'
Well said Hugh, I really couldn't have coined a better term for what is being allowed to happen right now.
He's so very diplomatic about it too. XD Certainly speaks to Hugh as a person.
Haha, I like Tom's response to the Donald Trump question.
He was totally right though- Trump was playing the "bad guy" so he could get fame/$$
Olivia's answer to Trump though! My respect. And Tom's face to the Severus Snape question, hilarious, loved it :D
I just love seeing Tom always being so protective towards Loki😭💕 He loves Loki more then anyone else.
I'm so happy! Tom defending two of my favorite characters of all time - Loki and Severus Snape ^.^
I love sassy Tom

Simon A it is believed that the people who voted for trump and the people who voted out - for the very same news. Fake news. They let fake news win.
"Maybe a cuddle would sort him out." Yes, yes it did.
Hugh is hilarious. British people always seem to respond to interviews so politely. Calm and collected. I love it.
English people dont typically discuss politics the same way Americans do which is very apparent in this interview, as soon as Trump is mentioned watch their faces
Loki and Snape two of the most misunderstood characters going.
Hugh Laurie is no fool, dodging the Trump question. Smart man. Keep everyone happy.
When Loki came up,I'm pretty sure that was very easy for Hiddleston😂
The interviewer knows that MANY of Tom's/Loki's fanbase would LOVE to give him that cuddle. ♥
2:09 "Straight up good guy!" Thank you, Tom!!
I would gladly provide the hug we all know Loki needs
"Depends on the book verses the movie" ...huh? What the hell is she talking about? There's nothing different about Snape in the books.. 🤔
StitchGV me neither; I'd say the movie is the tip of the iceberg, a key hole's insight compared to the book. We only saw snapshots of Snape's life, memories etc.
Tbf, he is portrayed as more of a secretly good guy in the movies. In the books he is clearly both
In the book yes he has his nastier moments but in the books he has his more Bravest and sympathetic moments also
Tom’s so cute when they say Loki. He’s thinking “ooh! Loki! That’s me darling! He so misunderstood, I think we should all just go have tea with him!” And then when Trump comes and he’s just like a 5 year old and thinks of the fun side!

Oh man, my ears just pricked up at the Captain Hook part (oh my Oncer heart). And lol Tom, so defensive about Loki :D

Love Tom's take on Trump...and Hugh's facial expressions 👍🤔😜

I wish Tom's theory was correct
Me too... 😕
He IS! I've been listening to his theory on Trump.🧠 The election was a game that Trump CHEATED IN!!!😡
The misunderstood of all misunderstandings 😂😂❤
Interesting that on Roper, the four actors all took the positions appropriate to their characters.
I'd like to hear their thoughts on Luke Cage season 2.
God i love Olivia Coleman
Interestingly, Tom's theory about Trump playing the bad guy for someone else to win was the plot of a Loki comic book where he ran for president, lol.
3:02 - 3:18 HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, bless you Tom and your innocence.
Ok, i found something wrong with Tom, he hasn't read the HP series and its a crime.
Not everyone likes Harry Potter or Star Wars. They're both EXTREMELY overrated.
I actually found it surprising that je hasn't read it. I mean not he has a duty to do so but I always thought of him like a totally bookworm 😉
TheLadyWinchester
He is also an adult. I tried reading the first book but couldn't because it was so childish.

Elizabeth Debicki is adorable.
Hugh Laurie's expression as he winds up his refusal to comment on America and says "I wish you all well"

The fact tom is so defensive over loki just warms my little fanheart...

2:55 lol his reaction to trump
Hahaha watching this after the elections makes me want to laugh and roll up into a ball to cry at the same time.
Agree about Miranda Priestly being a bad egg. I did not buy the movie's attempts to make her sympathetic. An abusive boss is an abusive boss, period.
2:19 oh didn't read the book sorry 😂
lovely people and amusing clip
3:13 oh dear....if only you knew.
