This is a mashup of 2 songs, the first song is set to music from an ancient poem called "Nam Quoc Son Ha", meaning the country of Vietnam (I don't know how to interpret this name 😅), this poem is said to have been written in 1077 and is also considered Vietnam's first declaration of independence. The second song is "Đat Nuoc Loi Ru", written based on the legend about the origin of the Vietnamese people. According to that legend, we Vietnamese people are descendants of fairies and dragons, so each Vietnamese should be proud of our origins 😊
As for the flag, this is the flag used by the Vietnamese army during feudal times
Very good explanation. Thank so much. 🙏
Every detail that appears here has its cultural meaning.
2:52 those flags are flags in war/battlefield. Vietnam is a country that experienced thousand years of war and foreign domination to finally gain independence and sovereignty. As a result our ancestors had shed blood, tears, sweat, and had sacrificed their own happiness as well as their lives during these times to usher in an era of peace for us - their descendants. The outfits are a reference of Âu Cơ, who is a deity and the mother who creates our bloodline (you can read more on wiki). The crane figure in the background is an image stemming from the countryside in Vietnam, oftentimes appearing in literature and lullaby for children. The drum (Trống Đồng) in the middle is also a historical instrument invented by our ancestors, with many intricate details/figures about their lives carved on it.
3:39 One memorable line in the lyrics "Giặc đến nhà đàn bà cũng đánh", meaning 'When the invaders arrive even women would fight'. Oh btw the beginning lyrics is our first independence declaration composed by Lý Thường Kiệt, a brilliant military advisor and general who had gained many victories while warding off invaders and protecting his people. ahhh there are too many details in the lyrics, you might wanna check them out.
Aside from that, what's most notable is chị (older sister) Thu Phương, who has health issues (she's 51 years old btw). She was hospitalized during rehearsal in one of the stages due to exhaustion. Also, many of them never met each other prior to this show, and apart from Trang Pháp and Lan Ngọc, the rest of them has never danced before, and yet they bravely decided to ditch the backup dancers because it's the final stage and they wanna dance alone.
What i like most about Yeah1 shows is that they embrace diversity, so if you read about them they're from many different backgrounds (for example Lynk Lee, a transgendered woman), and what they sing is also related their stories/lives (the talent of Trang Pháp in distributing lines). 30 celeb ladies/beautiful sisters over 30 years old coming together and create many beautiful friendships throughout their journey, they worked, rehearsed, talked about their life difficulties, laughed, cried (especially chị Mỹ Linh and chị Thu Phương), inspired, lost, won,... together. If you only watch their performance, you wouldn't grasp how much it took them or what they went through to create it, so i recommend you watch their talks on episode 15. Goodness after watching this performance i'm in tears being so proud of my country
English below:
The Emperor of the South reigns over mountains and rivers of the South
As it stands written forever in the Book of Heaven
How is it then that you strangers dare to invade out land
Your army shall be heavily beaten
Lullaby A mother lulls her child with a lullaby for the rest of her life
Lullabies have been sung for thousands of years
Mother Au Co long ago went to create the world
Lac Long Quan and his children went to the sea
Let the country become more brilliant
A brocade that is forever radiant
Through many hardships in Vietnam
Oh how much we love Vietnam
A thousand lullabies in the storm
How sweet is the folk song?
-RAP-
Vietnam gives birth to elites
Continuing the tradition of our ancestors
Enemy to the women must fight
This victory is not far away
Many years ago there was chaos
Lac Hong's lineage still spreads its wings. Its identity is resilient when the enemy comes
If you fight again, you must win
Descendants of dragons and fairies, Letter S is a sacred land
The Vietnamese people, the people of the ancestors, won in their own way
The Emperor of the South reigns over mountains and rivers of the South
As it stands written forever in the Book of Heaven
How is it then that you strangers dare to invade out land
Your army shall be heavily beaten

Anh review team có Trang Pháp nha bạn, ổng mê Trang Pháp mà, coi mấy cái video trước tới đoạn Trang Pháp là ổng bảo “she is my favourite”
2:46 you can say it is the cultural flag of Vietnam, commonly known as "cờ ngũ sắc" (lit. five-color flag). This flag is often used in Vietnamese traditional festivals. The 5 colors on that flag are commonly believed to represent 5 elements (ngũ hành / 五行) in East Asian cultures, they are metal (kim/金), wood (mộc/木), water (thủy/水), fire (hoả/火), soil (thổ/土)

pls react to 'Phương Mỹ Chi - Bóng Phù Hoa | Live Performance at Showcase' ===> ua-cam.com/video/S2CTCD21cVU/v-deo.html
the song is based on 'The Story of the Woman in Nam Xương' (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_the_Woman_in_Nam_Xương). If you read the story beforehand, you'll feel the emotion behind the lyrics even more profoundly. But her vocal alone is also pretty moving.
