Enjoyed it, but too much focus on the fluff and too little on the really useful stuff. While it's fun to ask subjective questions and singing songs, you won't be actually using that much once you've begun to get used to it. But you will want, if it works well, to set reminders, add appointments to your calendar, and above all, ask for facts: how many calories in a hard-boiled egg? What's the largest city in Estonia? What are the top ten polluting nations? How did the Liverpool game go? How old is Sting? and a million other "get information without even having to search and read webpages, just ask and you shall be told" scenarios.
Cortana does very well on many of these, and can learn who your close relations are so you can do things like "text my wife and say I'm running late" (especially useful when driving, but really if it works well it's hard to do better with ANY other interface) or set contextual reminders like "remind me when I next talk to my sister to..." (it'll show when you call her, or she calls you, our toy get a text from her and so on).
She also occasionally understands things you may say that only make sense in context. For example, try "find me a good restaurant". You should geta list of numbered suggestions. You can say "call the second one", or even "which take reservations?" which should filter out those that do not. My experience with it was hit and miss, but I left win phone just before Easter and the service keeps improving at impressive pace. I'm actually excited to get to test her out again once I get Windows 10 (or Win OS X as you might call it, not because it copies much from Apple's desktop but simply since OS/X is OS/10 (and pronounced that way, by the way), X of course being the Roman numeral for ten.

Tech Trinkets Siri & Safari uses the Bing Search Engine rather than Google or Yahoo since Apple does not have it's own online search engine.
Apple tries not too use Google products as much as possible, Remember Apple Maps because they did not want to rely on the competition in Tablets & Smartphones! And even though Microsoft is a Rival in OS the Windows Tablets & Phones are not yet a real threat unlike Google's Android!
