Hi Ray, small correction, three point estimating is not there for estimate activity resources. It has alternative analysis which is a data analysis t&t. Three-point is used in schedule and cost management. Correct me if I’m wrong. My test is less than a week away.🤓
PMP exam is not 100% based on PMBOK. The PMBOK is only a guide for the PMP exam....you are true that 'three point estimating' is not mentioned in PMBOK, but it can be used to estimate activity resources: Eg. You want to finish a task which Optimistically (O) you can plan with 9 resources, Pessimistically (P) you can plan with 2 resources and Mean (M) you can plan with 5 resources...then how do you calculate the # of resources you should consider for this activity? Three point estimation comes in use here....
Thanks Ray for the video, you have posted situational questions video for few of the process like Integration Management, kindly post videos for other processes as well like cost, quality ,resource management .Thanks in Advance.
Ray, first of all many thanks for your videos they are very useful. Regarding to the Question #6 in you answer you added the "Three point estimating", however, this type of estimation is not part of the T&T of " Estimate Activity Resources" according to PMBOK v6, refer to chapter 9.2.2. Regards,

Hi Ray, thank you for the videos. Very useful. Why the RACI is an example of a text oriented formats? It seems to me this is a type of RAM then falls under another category in tools and techniques for plan resource management. Could you please take a look? Thanks
Hi Ray Thanks for your vidoes - they are extremely helpful. Just a quick question about the resource calendar. Given that Eetimate Activity Resources precedes Acquire Resources in the overall process, how could this Resource Calendar becomes an output of Acquire Resources and simultaneously becomes an input of Estimate Activity Resources? In other words, how could something that will happen in the future becomes an input of another thing that happens before that?
Hi, the resource calendar is a live document and is updated in steps as more information is available and not at one go! Thank you for watching and commenting.
In the video RBS is 'T&T' of 'Plan Resource Management', not an INPUT. Please check again. It's what PMBOK mentions as well as part of 'Hierarchical charts'....(Pg. 316).
Hi Ray, Happy to share that I have paased the exam with all domains above target and earn my PMP credentials. All your videos are very helpful for me during my preparation. Specially the ICC video. Thanks alot once again.

Hi Ray, thanks for these great videos. Just a question, i don't understan how Resource Calendar is both an input and an output of Acquire Resource as illustrated in your Tip card.
It's a cyclic process actually, you will use resource calendar to check which resources are available to acquire (INPUT). And you will generate a updated resource calendar with your newly acquired resources (OUTPUT)
Hi Ray. ITTO Question #3 is wrong. RACI chart is not a text oriented format. It's an example of Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM). Examples of text oriented formats are: Position descriptions and Role-Responsibility-Authority forms
Hi Ray, I like your videos but there is an error on question #3. RACI is an example of a RAM tool and not a text-oriented format as stated in this video.
Good point! Thank you for highlighting the same. However, as per Pg. 317 of PMBOK-6, responsibilities of team members which require further detailed descriptions can be often used as a supplemental document for RACI charts to communicate the R&R clearly.
This is because, the process of acquire resources is iterative in nature. You take the INPUT from the resource calendar first to create your first draft of acquiring resources (you need to know which resources are already available for your project and for what duration)....then you go and update your resource calendar accordingly with the newly acquired resources...that's an OUTPUT.
I got stuck in the first question. I was thinking about T&T which was being asked. RBS, when I checked the PMBOK was the Output of Estimate Activity Resources and not a T&T. Kindly expound this Mr. Ray... Thank you.
@#1 - Resource Breakdown Structure is not a T&T in Plan Resource Management, the first time it appears is as an output in Estimate Activity Resources, @PMPwithRay

Resource calendars are tricky because an Output of later process (Acquire R.) is Input in earlier (Estimate activity res. ).
