My wife has a 70 mile round trip commute in NorthEast Ohio. Had these on her honda pilot and her nissan murano both AWD. Great tires, she works second shift and I can sleep at night during the winter knowing she will make it home!
They are great tires for sure! Very good in all winter conditions - slush, freezing rain, light snow and deep snow. Now - nothing is good on black ice or solid ice. Those two conditions are the worst. I’d much rather drive in a foot of snow than 1/8 inch of ice.
Just installed four Blizzak dm-v2's on my 2000 4runner. It is unbelievable how much grip these tires can get, even on smooth glare ice. Will run these tires every winter from now on.
They are amazing, have tried different snow tires over the yrs and definitely agree with most that these are probably some of the best ones on the market
I have had a 2 pair of these on my durango. For anyone in the upper north. Get these. Put them on in the middle of October and take them off in april. I drive uber with these in North Dakota (you know the state where people think north dakota and south dakota are the same state.) They are amazing. Got my girlfriend ws90s. We live by blizzack. I cant wait every winter for it to snow. Great review
Just got these tires. My pops has the exact same winter tire, and they have performed very very well. They really get you through some deep snow and slush.
I completely agree. The Blizzaks are the best winter tires my family has every used. We've put them on everything. They help keep control, move, and very importantly - stop. We invested in second sets of wheels for the vehicles so that we don't need to change them on the wheels each winter. Great tires!!!!
I use these during the winter on my f150. In the summer I run general grabbers. They are great tires too but man is there a huge difference between the two especially on ice. The grabbers do well in deep snow but are like ice skates when it's slippery.
I know this is an older video but I just dropped my GMC 1500 off to get these installed. I have ran the bf Goodrich a/t ko2 in the past winters with this truck and I just bought a new set of the bf Goodrich m//t km3. I live in western Canada and even though the km3 handled better than the ko2’s, parts of Alberta and British Columbia require the 3 peak mountain snow symbols (which they can’t put on a mud terrain even though they are just as good on snow and ice) maybe a bit less on slush, but I had to buy a snow tire. I don’t remember the exact model of blizzak as it has been many years since I ran winter only tires but I wouldn’t buy anything else but blizzaks. The reason is that the set I had was on a 1/2 ton Chev truck but only 2 wheel drive. We were ice fishing in mid spring and it was a goat trail to the lake with about a half kilometre of 8% grade hill down to the lake. By the end of the day we had about 12-15 inches of snow off the trail and it was about 3-5 inches of wet slush on the hill out. I watched a 4x4 leaving ahead of us and he was spinning out, sliding back down and took 3-4 attempts to make the hill. I was worried because all I had for recovery was a 3 ton hand ratchet winch. But I just put it in 2nd and first attempt and it didn’t even lose traction. If anyone asked and I knew if I ever needed winter tires in the future, I would not even consider any other but the Bridgestone blizzak. So I am excited to get my truck back tomorrow and do some extreme winter driving with the new dm-v2!
Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment! Every comment helps promote the video to a wider audience. We actually have another video releasing later today about winter tires, including these Bridgestone Blizzak tires!
They're certainly great in the winter stuff we get around here! Just this weekend we had all the possibilities - dry roads, freezing rain/ice, snow, sleet, and regular old rain. :)
Agreed on how good these are. Unmatched performance. I don't care if the special compound is only 1/2 the tread depth. By that point you want to change the tires anyway, as depth alone is critical for snow.
We've been really lucky -no snow at all yet. In fact, we had temperatures in the 70s (F) last week. But I know we will have plenty of snow soon enough. Thanks for watching!
They are excellent as long as you take them off when the temperatures warm up. These are soft rubber that would wear down quickly if you ran them through the summer.
Thinking about these for the winter season for frequent night skiing trips to California ski areas (black ice). But en route the temperature on the freeways is around 60F, until we get near the mountains. Would the higher temp wear out the tires extremely fast? I’m sure they will do great in the mountains, but uncertain if suitable for the long stretches of dry, higher temp freeways getting there.
Sort of answering my own question, I found this in a Forbes review: “As a supplement to the concessions of “winter” tires, I’d like to mention that I put more than 1,200 miles on the Blizzak DM-V2 tires during testing, with more than 800 of them on the highway with temperatures well above freezing and the road surface dry. The Subaru’s handling was perfectly safe, fuel economy was unnoticeably changed, and tire wear - long-distance highway cruising at 70+ mph - was negligible (they looked brand-new after I arrived home). In other words, there is nothing wrong with installing the Bridgestone tires at your home and then driving distances to the mountains for a ski trip.” What do you think?
Great question! I have read that these tires are designed for use below 45 degrees F. Warmer than 45 and they wear down much more quickly. I'll say that used here in our northern PA winters, they are holding up really good running them only in the winter.
I think they’re amazing. Now, I don’t drive around in reverse much to know how the directional tread works backwards - but the driving experience in everyday driving is great!
Greetings!! I have a small question for you. Are those tires noisy? My father in-law has an SUV and his winter tires (from another brand) are loud when the road is dry, to the point we can tell if he changed his tires winter tires or not yet.
Nice. I just bought my wife a ram 1500. I'm looking at buying a set of winter wheels and these tires on them. Used to have a wrx with blizzaks on it in winter. It was insane. Figure better set the wife up with the best.
I put these on my wife’s vehicle every year for that exact reason - I want her to have the best tires possible for our winter roads. Thanks for watching!
We haven't noticed any excess wear from highway speeds. This is our primary family travel vehicle. So we've taken it across PA on trips in the winter at 65+ MPH. No issues. And the tread is holding up really good.
I was debating between these and the HANKOOKWINTER I CEPT EVO 2 just because Ive used hankook winter tires and they worked great. You ever used hankook?
Thanks. It was actually just missing the outer cap. I’ve since replaced ALL the lug nuts with the solid ones. I hate those two-piece ones that Ford uses.
Thank you for the review! Ordering these asap for this winter. Also...what Carhartt jacket is that? I need a new winter jacket for work and that looks pretty nice!
You'll be happy with the tires! I've had that Carhartt coat for over 10 years. I'm not certain what one it is. I do know that it has a snap on (removable) hood and the insulated (lined) inside.
Very interesting...impressive that they seem to outperform the studded tires. Down here we don't get enough of the white stuff to justify changing tires but it sounds like you've found the ticket for all that lake-effect snow!
Hey Mike! You're the friend I was talking about. Boy were you right! Those tires are amazing. We've gone down some roads that seemed to be solid ice, and I felt like a Zamboni. Of course I should have known to take an Alaskan at his word when it comes to appropriate snow tires. :) Great advice, and I really appreciate it.

Where you comparing quality studded against this tires? Or where they of a cheaper brand? Quality studded tires will always perform better, but only on ice, its where they excel. On snow it will not matter. Just buy a quality brand (Bridgestone, Hakkapeliitta, Goodyear, michelin and Continental).
I've had studded name brand and non-name brand tires. Currently I have a set of brand new studded General tires that can't even compete with these Blizzak tires. These are the best tires I've ever run in the snow and ice.
Спасибо. Выбрал эти шины для ТЛК 200...результат потресающий!!! Идеальные шины для больших внедорожриков! Живу в Сибири Россия!
I purposely drove into a huge snow bank where people were actually stuck and i got out of it with ease. Those tires are the best

How did the tire hold up? Pleased with the purchase? I also have a JC Trailhawk
