The tip on the transform tool by itself makes this tutorial worth watching! The rest is extra good too 😊 You shared some super helpful information which is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lisa.
This recap is great! I’m sure I’ll eventually remember all the steps and the hold transform icon is totally the greatest Easter egg I’ve learned in the app so far!
Thank you so much with the guidance. I made few patterns and it was declined because of those little gaps I couldn't see when I made them... haha. Now I know I can go really zoomed in with the transform tool! That was so so so helpful. Thank you.
This video was super helpful. First, the trick of keeping pressed down the transform button was great, but also the resizing the pattern file. In my iPad I can't import the 4000px files, but if I resize the 2000px one, i can create a bigger pattern and even create enough layers for it to work. Thank you! I learnt the importance of duplicating layers with the pattern tile the hard way. Also duplicate, duplicate and duplicate files. I lost count of the times I had to restart my first pattern with this tool from scratch. I'm used to photoshop, so I tend to forget that procreate is quite destructive, and what's done sometimes can't be undone #sigh.
So glad it was helpful! If you're struggling to import the larger canvases, you should have more success importing the split version of the large canvases. In the download folder there should be a third folder called "4000px-Repeat_tile_Split", this will include the split files ("A" and "B") of each large template which might be better for your iPad to import. Hope that helps!
@@Lisaglanz Thank you! I checked my files and that third folder wasn't there, but I went to my files in Design Cuts and there was the updated file. I'll check it now. Thanks again! :)
Hi Lisa! Thank you for the tutorial. Sometimes when I'm enlarging to see is the lines are snapping properly, the pattern tile I've just moved looks fuzzy. Also, sometimes when I'm trying to zoom in, the pattern tile moves around, even if I'm pressing on the transform button. I think the act of pinching/ zoom is 'read' as me trying to move the tile. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried several times. Thank you!!
Hi Sarah, Did you perhaps scale up the pattern template or resize the pattern tile at any point? The fuzziness usually happens if you've enlarged something. In terms of the tile moving as you zoom in, it could be that your finger isn't on the Transform tool properly. Procreate can get quite sensitive like that, so make sure your finger is definitely on the transform tool before you zoom, and also does't move off the tool as you're zooming in. Hope that helps! Pop me a message if you have any other questions at any stage.
I seem to be missing some of the templates, specifically the more simple graphic templates like the one you are using in this tutorial. Is there a way for me to get these if I can show you my order information?
Hi Kelly, Sorry you're struggling to locate all the templates. Please send me an email and a screenshot of the folder you have of all the Procreate files so I can assist you asap. Also include the name of the files you have imported into Procreate, it's possible you have only imported half of them - you can just take a screenshot so I can see which files you have. You can email me to help@lisaglanz.com thank you!
My kid loves to hear you say, "Hey everyone, Lisa here!" in your accent. Tickles her pink. We love you, Lisa.
