Haunting episode! Lots of bad weather...admirable job enduring that challenge. Costs weren't always perfect along the way, but you endured killer conditions, so a win is a win, and I think it was a strong win. Condition is in good shape and decent gear. I think it's exciting that some of the map is now cut off. Of course the best next move is to go to Bleak. It has coal! :)

Since the Puma trick they did it seems that everything is broken in the game: no fish for 2 days-long fishing in PV, nor in CH for 24h under all possible weather conditions. And no Scurvy after some 20 consequtive days on meat diet in PV running. The run is 175 days old, custom Interloper with low HP recovery.
Mind-blown with this challenge, Arch. Super impressive. As someone who has dabbled with outerloper, I've been wondering about the constraints of this challenge. Do you find that the constraints are such that there is very little variability between individual runs. There's only so many outdoor tools spawn, forge, coal spots, etc. that it seems you would end up just running the same routes. Interested on your thoughts on this. (This is coming from someone who watched Wonz run Blackrock NOGOA probably 20 times in a row. Not implying that its not fun to watch or boring)
Yeah, there is definitely a sense in which these become formulaic. It's one reason I pretty much freely use maps, loot tables, etc and do some general route planning between episodes: I'm not really interested in playing these multiple times(due to the lack of variation) so I'll put in the planning to try to get my "best attempt" in one go. To be completely honest, I'm starting to become disillusioned with interloper loot(which is basically all challenges, since it's very hard to come up with rules for a tough challenge with Stalker loot.) This is because once you know enough about the loot, 100% of tools and 90% of clothing always spawn in the same known locations, so it's hardly even worth it to loot anywhere else(This is also true for "nice-to-have" items like stims and coffee.)
Good call on the snow shelter. I had my 2nd affliction at the same place and we got the same one :) By the way, the CH tunnel towards Ravine is also 100% windproof. I have not tried making a snow shelter there but looks like there is enough space for one.
I didn't want to "waste" the cloth but it was definitely nice to get the 10 hour heal in under the wire :) That's good to know about the tunnels. Although I wouldn't usually go for the snow shelter sleep in CH because there are a couple vehicles with fairly protected fire spots.
Two main reasons I can think of: - Grabbing a new torch: radial gives the best torch, I like to use the worst torches first(this is more weight efficient since I use up the low torches quickly.) - Dropping torch: Drop from inventory is silent, won't scare rabbits/ptarmigans or alert nearby wolves/bears. The mental transition from using condition as a resource to not being able to will probably be the hardest part of Misery.

I've noticed how often you use the inventory rather than the radial dial, I'm curious what the upsides are to that.
Two main reasons I can think of:
