I still have a woodden clock I bought in the 80's that sort of work like this, metal balls that follow an intrincated path, I've spent more than the healthier period of time watching it work. With something like this I wouldn't move for the rest of my life, fascinating.
Beautiful work, very creative, and lots of action. I only wish I could have heard the sounds of the marbles on the tracks instead of the music. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us. I love your work. Dan
Wow! I don't think I've ever seen turns, loops, and switchbacks THAT smooth before. You've obviously been doing this a long time, Boris. Keep it up! Great work
Yes, me too. Did time seem to change? For me it seemed like 15 minutes. It's not that it was boring, I got a kick out of the whole thing, it just seems like time changed.
Very beautiful work !!😀 As you, I watched the movie Fracture a week ago and I had some kind of revelation !! 🤩😀 Where is it possible to buy one and what price please ? 😀
That was spectacular! I want to build one of these but I know I won’t get anything near that thing. That was so complex. It was enjoyable and relaxing to watch. Smooth AF.
When I was in my early teens, I was fascinated with this very idea. I drew dozens of designs of how I would make one. Everyone I knew, including parents discouraged me from consuming so much time in just the designs. I never got to making one as they thought I was losing my mind. Well, maybe I was a little obsessed with it. Yes, it serves no purpose. But I considered it excersizing the mind. A physicist can spend hours on end developing a hydrogen bomb that can wipe out all living things and thats ok. But a kid develops a tinker machine that has people forget their problems even for just a few moments and he's the one that has issues. Go figure.
It's never too late to make one yourself if you feel like doing it, no matter what people say. Over years of making RBS i spend less and less time for designing and more time for actual build, directly from my head and it works just fine.
@@WeR1sculptures I was/am pretty good with wood. One of my shop teachers in high school I guess took note of my qualities. I had pretty much finished all my required assignments and was kinda bored. He showed me something that he thought I would like to make. But I couldnt tell anyone what it was called. It was called a BS grinder. He didnt want to catch wind of it for obvious reasons. Anyways. It was a real simple application, the basics of your designs. A "3×"3× "3/4 block with dovetail routered crossways. 2 pieces "1 long fit in those dovetails and were connected by a "4 handle. One in the center and the other at either end. A knob was placed at the opposite end. Thats it. You cranked it around and it did absolutely nothing but keep people entertained for a while. It was equally entertaining to me watching people fiddle with it. But that was one of the best projects I made in school. Simply because that was the things I liked. I would have made a ball roller, but lack of funding and, seriously, my folks were starting to think I had an OC disorder because that was all I was thinking about at times. I had drawings scattered all over the house. Its kind of funny.
dont think that's possible as some of the features needed the weight of several marbles and some they need to go trough different tracks to complete the cycle...
Se eu tiver uma obra de arte dessa em minha casa ela sempre irá me lembrar de uma brincadeira que eu gostava na minha infância. Essas obras de arte estão a venda?

@@WeR1sculptures YOu should do some software CGI versions of this for like a screensavor or something fun like that I remember GT250 had something like that a long long time ago for a screensavor video tester thing ua-cam.com/video/hyCIpKAIFyo/v-deo.html
Some elements can be noisy (ball jump, and semicircle drop for sure) but the motor is noiseless.. If a quiet sculpture is needed, those elements are definetly not recommended. Plastic or ping pong balls are more quiet too. I've made "Tree Tango" as an office sculpture. It's also interesting how the noise dissapeares in a large room...
would be PERFECT if it can be sort of “perpetual motion” maybe saving energy from those drops, trigger some winding setups, then release the next marble
It's always interesting to use balls kinetic energy for some side work like to lift or release another ball. I have done that. But unfortunately perpetual motion is not an option.
First i have an agreement with a client about overall size of the sculpture, lift type, number of tracks and what elements it will have. The placement of the elements and tracks are completely mine creation and usually i add a new element or two. I am trying to place the elements in the sculpture as evenly as possible, but i never plan the whole sculpture. It "just happens".

My question is how do you keep the dark blue marbles in the light blue marbles separate on the ascending corkscrew when there are dark and Light, at least it looked as though that were the case, going through the whirlpool? That seems to be more random than any other part of the structure.
I recommend thorough internet research (tutorials on welding, bending , working with metal...) and watching /studying RBS videos. And dont't forget the safety!

"more than healthier period of time" - well said sir 😄
Dang that lighting and color are easy on the eyes 😮
This is the most amazing piece of marble art I’ve seen. I love the engineering of this. Again, AMAZING piece of work.
Simply beautiful!

I agree I find satisfaction in listening to the marbles create music
I was going to say the same thing.
What marbles?
@nobody8thechicken Oh I got my balls but lost my marbles!
Link to a video with original sound is now added to the video description. Enjoy.

It will be full 10 years this year. Thank you very much!
well made marble track AND video ;-)
Insane! Excellent craftsmanship... I want one!
Love this, well done Boris! So creative. I wish this was sitting in my living room. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Man this is amazing. Would really like to have one of these in my living room and just chill while looking at those balls going so smoothly.
Reminds me of something Rube Goldberg would have thoughtof/created. Very nicely crafted and mesmerizing to watch. My hat's-off to the creator.
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen for a long long long time. I want to make one but it won’t even nearly compare. My hat goes off.
What a beautiful work of art👍🏼‼️
Reminded me of the Ocean 11 movies while they are breaking down the incredibly complex heist in real time. Well done to both craftsman and editor
Thank you for compliments since i'm both.
Fantastic...Beautiful....

The best sound is the sound of the marbles; precisely nothing else !!!!!!!!!!!!!¨
Superior build! Very smooth bends and welds! Intense imagination!
I want it. The music reminded me a bit of the pinball music in Sesame Street.
Great video

I'm flattered, thank you.
The music complements the sculpture very well.

Very nice. Love the components and mechanisms.
Do you have a video of this sculpture without the music, just the sounds it makes by itself?
Its so distracting I had to mute.
Yeah, right?
Love it. Could you show a clip with one marble cycle through the piece with the whole sculpture in frame and one camera angle?

The noise this thing must make. Don't think I'd want one in my office.

Very nice. Is that 303 or 304 or 316 1/8" stainless rod? I like the way it polishes up.
It's 304 1/8" for the tracks and yes, it polishes quite nicely :)
Great job how can I get one???
Way cool!
Top notch

I would love to take that commission :)
How do you plan such a machine? As complete or make x amount of seperate modules and improvise them to a complete machine? Awesome artwork!

Information about the music is in the video description. I'm glad you like it.
how many meters are needed in this structure
Damn great

Una maravilla

Fantastic. What is the cost of one of these commissions?

Dark blue balls and light blue balls have separate tracks (3 tracks each) and they never mix.
WeR1sculptures awesome... This is absolutely stunning. I think my favorite. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
I think the question was that some of the marbles on the same track appeared to be different colors.

Brillant !!!
