    Thank You guys from Nesesari Kakalulu for the great music and
    congratulations on your first album.
    Music: NESESARI KAKALULU/Na sprehod
    A Slovenian band of nine instrumentalists that gathered together with the purpose of creating rhytmically orientated music which would enchant listeners with awaking positive vibrations and desire to dance. From the first inspiration of Fela Kuti`s musical legacy which brought members of this band together, band went on to create it`s own contemporary musical ritual in the spirit of sub-saharan rhytms. Hypnotic basslines are accompanied with polyrhytmic repetitive guitar rhythms, congas are in dialog with drums, brass section flows from ensemble heads to improvised solos, and altogether is spiced up with the touch of colorful percussion set. With the combination of specified grooves and collective improvisation, this small orchestra represents an alternative to dominating mechanical electronic dance music, taking it`s dance ritual into more primal organic human form.

    I still have a woodden clock I bought in the 80's that sort of work like this, metal balls that follow an intrincated path, I've spent more than the healthier period of time watching it work. With something like this I wouldn't move for the rest of my life, fascinating.

    When I was in my early teens, I was fascinated with this very idea. I drew dozens of designs of how I would make one. Everyone I knew, including parents discouraged me from consuming so much time in just the designs. I never got to making one as they thought I was losing my mind. Well, maybe I was a little obsessed with it. Yes, it serves no purpose. But I considered it excersizing the mind.
    A physicist can spend hours on end developing a hydrogen bomb that can wipe out all living things and thats ok. But a kid develops a tinker machine that has people forget their problems even for just a few moments and he's the one that has issues. Go figure.

    • @WeR1sculptures
      @WeR1sculptures  3 роки тому

      It's never too late to make one yourself if you feel like doing it, no matter what people say. Over years of making RBS i spend less and less time for designing and more time for actual build, directly from my head and it works just fine.

      I was/am pretty good with wood. One of my shop teachers in high school I guess took note of my qualities. I had pretty much finished all my required assignments and was kinda bored. He showed me something that he thought I would like to make. But I couldnt tell anyone what it was called. It was called a BS grinder. He didnt want to catch wind of it for obvious reasons. Anyways. It was a real simple application, the basics of your designs. A "3×"3× "3/4 block with dovetail routered crossways. 2 pieces "1 long fit in those dovetails and were connected by a "4 handle. One in the center and the other at either end. A knob was placed at the opposite end. Thats it. You cranked it around and it did absolutely nothing but keep people entertained for a while. It was equally entertaining to me watching people fiddle with it.
      But that was one of the best projects I made in school. Simply because that was the things I liked. I would have made a ball roller, but lack of funding and, seriously, my folks were starting to think I had an OC disorder because that was all I was thinking about at times. I had drawings scattered all over the house. Its kind of funny.

    • @WeR1sculptures
      @WeR1sculptures  3 роки тому

      Some elements can be noisy (ball jump, and semicircle drop for sure) but the motor is noiseless.. If a quiet sculpture is needed, those elements are definetly not recommended. Plastic or ping pong balls are more quiet too. I've made "Tree Tango" as an office sculpture. It's also interesting how the noise dissapeares in a large room...

    My question is how do you keep the dark blue marbles in the light blue marbles separate on the ascending corkscrew when there are dark and Light, at least it looked as though that were the case, going through the whirlpool? That seems to be more random than any other part of the structure.

      First i have an agreement with a client about overall size of the sculpture, lift type, number of tracks and what elements it will have. The placement of the elements and tracks are completely mine creation and usually i add a new element or two. I am trying to place the elements in the sculpture as evenly as possible, but i never plan the whole sculpture. It "just happens".
