Horse Riding Simulator First Time - Walk.

What is it like to ride a horse riding simulator for the first time? This simulator is like a school master and the walk is actually a very powerful pace. Interestingly for this new client, it only took her a couple of minutes to figure out all by herself that her balance would improve as she moved her lower leg underneath her. I was letting her get used to the simulator before providing some postural coaching.
Her first remark was how great it was to be able to move around and experiment with changes in posture without having to worry about how that might affect a real horse. More from this rider in another video as she discovered that her right hip was restricted.

That is nothing like a walk! That horse is lame too!

The walk is the pace with the most range of motion in the back so appears to be a higher gait. The three dimensional movement parameters have been developed from a dressage horse that the engineer had access to so is very individualised. The walk is very active but the higher gaits more slow and controlled, as you would expect from a dressage horse. If there is any compensatory gait it would be due to a lag in the piston timing ;-) Perhaps you would explain the 'lameness' in more detail?

@@HorseSaddleRider : I have been riding horses since I was a young girl and, in my opinion, when a horse walks it almost feels like more of a side-to-side type movement to the rider.

Feels like a mix of trot with random, cool tho (edit: trot at speed of walk)
