I just visited Berlin previous week, I feel if you are a student and wanna enjoy socializing and have a fair of home sickness then Berlin is one of the most happening place for you but if you wanna settle down with you family I think it's not that livable since I see very aggressive/active people in Berlin, Whereas other cities are more passive and you kinda feel relax :D
