Fix Kai'sa by removing Quick Attack from her. She can get it anyway. But it should make the trades way more favorable and riskier. Instead of her always being Quick attack with a spellshield. ZERO interaction whatsoever.
So I usually try to avoid calling for nerfs in the first week of an expansion, but I agree with this fix because I think the issue is much deeper than just Kai'Sa. It's just much more obvious because the problem lies with Shurima and Kai'Sa is.. well... a Shurima champion. The region that can provide spellshield, overwhelm and huge attack stats should NOT have access to rite of negation, hourglass and quicksand. Quick attack on Kai'Sa makes it impossible to interact when she goes for the 1 or 2 attack kill.
Better way to nerf Kaisa is to make second skin and supercharge slow like Viktor's hexcore and Supercharge exclusive to Kaisa similar to Viktor's hexcore
Same with Gnar with Quick Attack and Overwhelm. Too powerful and zero interaction. And also not faithful to the base design as his rage mode is tank. Should have Tough.
I think she needs to be nerfed, I know it's the first week of expansion but it does not matter it's just the fact that she is a better viktor that is wrong, for one more mana she get so much, she has 1 more attack and quick attack + evolve which is a better keyword than augment, second skin is better than hexcore because it let you choose the keywords you want to copy and you can get more than one + she has a better lvl up + she is in shurima which is op now, the worst is that viktor was already good, she need a huge nerf first her second skin should cost 1 mana and second she need to either lose quick attack or go to 3 hp . It's the same as always they do not seem to playtest their cards enough powerlevel are all over the place , we need a pbe serv .
I think it's interesting that in this expansion they chose to not give Eve any keywords, because they knew she was already going to naturally get a lot of them off of her husks, but then Kai'sa, who's ALSO going to naturally get a lot of keywords off her second skin was given quick attack because I guess she needed it? And thanks for the quality content! My Piltover Starhound Pack deck was feeling pretty bad, this one looks a bit more promising!
Kai'Sa is this expansion's poster child. Whether we like it or not, an expansion not having a single slightly overtuned champion would take away all hype and impact the game much worse than a bit of a balance issue. This will always happen and is 100% intended to maintain the health of the game.
The quick attack was probably an aesthetic choice. All of the ADC's have quick attack on runeterra. Which doesn't mean it is balanced when applied to kaisa.
I feel like Riot underestimated the power of stacking a bunch of Keywords and statbuffs controllable onto one single unit when things like Spellshield exist. Kaisa is a 5 Mana Heart of the Fluft + Scout + don't kill your entire board + ping every single unit to pop barriers and deal massive dmg
I mean I totally agree Kaisa is hella strong, but she is not Heart of the Fluff in the extremely important way that she "only" gets the keywords, but not the stats. Ofc she is way better than heart due to the other reasons (ping, doesnt kill board, can have scout), but I'm still in favour of accurate descriptions.

18:41 Quicksand doesn't silence, it "disables special keywords", it's a difference. Quicksand doesn't give any status effect, so Mikael's has nothing to clense. Also Mikael's doesn't disable stat debuffs so it doesn't give back the -4 or -2 from Quicksand. With works differently for frostbite, because frostbite IS a keword (set unit's attack to 0 this round).
What I'd like to see changed about Kai'sa at least: - Supercharge no longer focus, or make it only possible to target Kai'sa just as eve's champion spell. - Remove "everywhere" on Second skin, or at least make the spell only playable when Kai'sa is on the board - I like the idea of removing Quick attack from Kai'sa. She can still get it with Sivir anyway (and it would open more decklists)
that supercharge design wouldn’t work. the reason the eve spell works is that the only way you can get it is if you have eve in play and in hand so she becomes her champion spell. The spell is not a runnable card in the deck. supercharge is a shurima card therefore wouldn’t work.
The only one I agree is the last one. I would say that for the second one they applied a Víctor with her. Make second skin slow speed. As for the first change, another person in the comments examined why it wouldn't work.
ngl i would change grant to give on super charge, honestly there is no reason for that spell to be agrant, specially considering in-league that ability is a temporary attack speed buff
I think it's not a coincidence the recent Focus speed spells are most of the popular cards in this expansion. Riot makes it seem so tame when they print out cards that are quite strong and flexible but nobody really notices it at first release because "Oh, it's Focus so it's healthy" but then you realize uninteractible open attacks are an actual thing and having a Focus speed spellshield is really a probelm.
They don't care. The game has been heading into the uninteractive direction ever since Bandle City dropped. I'm afraid they are alienating their old player base.

I just wondered what if scout wasn't a keyword anymore, but a subregion/type like dragon is? And for cards like broodmother who you can just add the second type to the card's text (I think there's a celestial that's also a dragon). That way they wouldn't have to make exceptions for it to be generated or sth anymore.
Man, feels like everyone has all the keywords now. For Viktor it made sense, kind of fits his evolution theme. Then they made Pantheon and the Arsenal, which was super random. Really odd finishers for decks that rely on overwhelming, duh, stats an landmarks, respectively. And Pantheon was everywhere, since fated was busted as fuck. Now it's the same with Kai'sa and Evelynn. It really does feel like they finally ran out of ideas.
It is just so weird to me how riot has more or less every single champion have quick attack or can get itif they are remotely based around attacking besides like elise and bard. I actually have found a very interesting list with Star dogs and PnZ, using Iterative improvement (it actually procs fated) and things like Shady character, its actually insane fun.

The Reason these units have the ability to get spell shield at burst speed is because of cards like minimorph or quick sand. When these cards exist, where you can pretty much either stall an attack or you remove a unit from the game, the only counterplay is shit like attach or ways to get spellshield at burst speed. Minimorph single handedly fucked nasus so hard that they have his level 2 fearsome again xD imagine you set up your nasus all game, you play it and then your opponent removes it from the game at burst speed. At least Kai’sa can’t get spellshield in combat, but these things will only get worse. The only way to deal with Kai’sa now is to either need the champ or to introduce cards that deal with her without interacting( cuz if your opponent can interact you just get hit with rite of negation) and the cycle continues, where in order to deal with stupid stuff you need even more stupid stuff.
They should just make scout a keyword like spellshield. Once it’s used it’s gone it makes it a fleeting keyword like barrier where you have to use it the turn you play the unit and it goes away. Thematically I like the idea of scouting ahead but you don’t scout the same area more than once so idk why you can continuously scout
I honestly think with how the power creep works in Runeterra, and with how some interactions are, I almost feel like slowing the game down might be better for it. The only thing I have disliked about Runeterra since beta, is I feel Nexus hp is very low. Games are over turn 5-6, even in control match ups almost. The way new Champs such as Kaisa are designed, while fun, need more opportunities and, imo, things to interact with. The problem there, is if every region has counter cards like deny and such, they're just staple in every deck. Runeterra is built so every deck basically does their own thing, while sprinkling counter play in here and there. So the answer can be difficult to find, raising nexus hp was my solution years ago. Now, even with an extra turn or two, it most likely won't mean anything unless cards like supercharged "spellshield" and scout are harder to access.
10:50 I'll be honest, as much as I dislike Kai'sa, I still think Demacia and our "favorite" champion Rally is the biggest problem, and it has been a problem for years. (In this case it's cataclysm/scout combo)
They need to make a new color of keywords( like purple is for negative, white for natural…) for keywords that: cannot be randomly generated and cannot be copied onto anything, and add scout to that list, the list be like lurk, deep, attach and so on

Some ways to make second skin not abusable is make it only work on Void/Shurima units since she just abuses valor for scout/challenger keyword. Or make it slow/fast speed. Or second skin only works for current kaisa.
There is no way that Kai'Sa isn't OP, and Riot must know this. They delibaretely released her overtuned for whatever reason, being the face of the expansion maybe. Zero cost focus speed copy all keywords permanently (EVERYWHERE!) from any unit - and still she gets Quick Attack. And still he has that board wipe ability. Take Quick Attack from her and remove the "everywhere" from second skin, she'll still be plenty strong. It's not like she needs Quick Attack if she goes Elusive, and getting Scout + Challenger + Quick Attack in one turn from one card is OP anyway, there are plenty quick attack units from which she can copy it or get it in other ways, it shouldn't be free
i dont really undestand why they just dont remove scout as a keyword or rework it, it just break the game or does nothing at all becouse minion with scout need to be incredibly weak or expensive. IMO if they have trouble balacing some cards becouse of some fondamental issue (EG bard cards) the should adopt the Yu gi oh idea of limiting the copies of cards that can be used in the single deck, that way they can keep powerful cards in the game and limit how opppressive they can be, and in the future change them in a better way
The thing I don't think Riot understands is just how powerful generating ANY keyword can be. All keywords combined with certain other keywords changes them hard. Examples below: Quick Attack/Challenger: Battle remover. Regeneration/Fury: Growing blocker. Overwhelm/Augment: Incoming one-shot. Life-Steal/Impact: Hyper healer. Elusive/Fearsome: Good luck blocking this with most anything's baseline stats/words. Spell Shield then compounds all issues even further. And getting multiple of these roles filled easily by one unit is disgustingly strong.
I feel the same about champions that are too strong and/or popular. Like yeah I'm sure I would like her playstyle but I much more like playing Viktor that's just a worse Kaisa in every way
I feel like viktor is a much more fair design for keyword soup. You get 1 per turn. Pantheon is awful, and while I like the new champs, I think they could have done better with design. Make eve less random and kaisa less snowbally. And its not just champs with every keyword at once, followers too. Having every keyword with low investment is just boring now.
Probably the best way to fix kaisa is making both second skin and supercharge fast, so that the opponent can have a way to interact against kaisa or whatever is being buffed
Fast supercharge won't change anything. It literally becomes a better deny, because it you won't be able to cast a spell to kill kaisa on your turn. It has to be slow speed, or idk 4/5 mana
In spoiler season I misunderstood how evolve works. I though the unit had to see all the keywords being played, so I think kai'sa was gonna be way to slow. How foolish was I

kaisa is legit awful design and husks are equally awfully designed. there really isn't much more to it. i legit can not understand how it got off paper and into the game. being able to randomly give elusive and spellshield? completely gamebreaking. being able to scout rally for 3 open attacks? completely gamebreaking. welcome to a meta with top tier decks that purely rely on RNG. probably just not gonna play PVP for a while since the ladder is just INFESTED with these decks that either just fall flat or scam a random win out of nothing. this is what happens when you slash the budget for a card game

I hate how the game is becoming more and more uninteractive. I said this last expansion and the one before that (basically ever since Minimorph was printed), but sadly nothing changes and they just keep going in that direction. It just kills the identity of the game and makes it by extension a dumb copy of Hearthstone. Tbh, they lost all my trust a while ago and I won't spend any more money on the game, even though some of the skins and stuff are awesome (albeit a little pricey). I basically only watch my favorite LoR content creators and sometimes come back to a expansion to not be able to play anything because I have no resources (since I don't play).

Kai'sa is definitely overtuned. Every new expansion, at least one champ or champ combo is. It's nowhere near as bad as Azirelia at its top, but not by much.
its just a fkg play mode, a lot of keywords, and the worst part is that in this expansion it was not only 1 champ with that playstyle, there were 2 with evelyn, and qwen is not that balanced either, every single round that Ive played against it it ends in a loss with the enemy with full health for the healing that gwen have, I dont like the route that this game is taking... but is RIOT GAMES so Im not surprised
it's getting pretty stale that every new expansion in LoR there's that 1 or more champions that just do better than any champion before it/just a "put it in any deck and it works" type of card, IT'S SO ANNOYING! prime examples are gnar, poppy, bard, bandle city as a whole and others.
I'll be honest here, the way game 2 went made me want to close the video because of how boring it was. Random keyword(eve-kaisa), stat(bard), and general card generation is so obnoxious and uninteresting.
To be honest, your winding light play at game 2 was a terrible one. Winding Light is a finisher, there was no point in using him there if you were not able to win the game. By spending all your mana you left yourself wide open to whatever the oponent wants to do. And you had the means to defend yourself with whirling death and 2 pale cascades. It was much better to save your mana for combat tricks, specially considering the oponent could have some form of rally-
I love runnetera but it's true the last champs have been a disappointment not even so much their mecanics but the fact that they all work the same, it has been a very long time since a champ was released which goal was not to win through combat + the fact that every champ nowaday as the same cost range too is not helping, controle was never in a good place and is getting worst because there is more and more spellshield available, aggro outside of burn has been getting stomped too because healing has multiplied, most decks are combo or midrange. The powercreep is getting out of controle too the 3 new champs are ridiculously strong at the very least Eve make sense because she has a deck building cost so she needs to be strong but kai'sa and gwen are just better versions of already made champs. There is 91 champions in runeterra out of them 21 are 3 cost , 30 are 4 cost , 17 are 5 cost, there is only 2 champs above 7 cost . They need to slow down the game and give use more high cost champ not every deck should have the same speed .
Normally I’m against this, but imo this is one of the least interactive release expansions. Riots just gave up on adding new ways to expand the game and decided to just add champs that pile on hundreds of stats and keywords without any downside. Even with stuff like BarDemacia I still feel like I have a chance to interact with the board. But when Eve drops as a 4 mana 5/6 with two keywords or Kaisa gets 5 keywords by turn 6, I just give up inside. Even Gwen and Hallowed, just another boring expansion with Quick Attack champs.
I think there is just too much focus speed stuff this expansion. Why is second skin focus? Victors hexcore isnt, bade of the exile isnt (granted the fragments are but still...). It feels like even with burst or fast speed spells, you simply cannot interact with a lot of stuff that is in the game right now. Also: I just dislike "Rally pile" and both Eve and KaiSa are just another flavor of "Demavia rally pile". I feel like rallies need to be nerfed and Demacia needs some power somewhere else. Rally is the only win con Demacia has atm and has had since Rising Tides. It feels stale and every Demacia deck feels the same. The need another "thing" to do and for that to be balanced rally needs to be trimmed down.
Imagine complaining about being outplayed by Kai'Sa when you could've killed Kai'Sa and save Aphelios with 2 pale cascade @ 7:25, Complaining about something broken and saying I'm not complaining about Kai'Sa being broken then complaining about Kai'Sa again 2 mins later
Here is how I'd rework kai'sa: -2 mana 1/3, keywords: evolve -same level up -second skin is every turn (no only when you have attack token) -gets: "i get +1|+0 for every positive keyword i have (evolve not counted)" -some nerf/rework on that stupid champ spell I want the playstyle to be - build your kai'sas everywhere one keyword at the time.

The Reason these units have the ability to get spell shield at burst speed is because of cards like minimorph or quick sand. When these cards exist, where you can pretty much either stall an attack or you remove a unit from the game, the only counterplay is shit like attach or ways to get spellshield at burst speed. Minimorph single handedly fucked nasus so hard that they have his level 2 fearsome again xD imagine you set up your nasus all game, you play it and then your opponent removes it from the game at burst speed. At least Kai’sa can’t get spellshield in combat, but these things will only get worse. The only way to deal with Kai’sa now is to either need the champ or to introduce cards that deal with her without interacting( cuz if your opponent can interact you just get hit with rite of negation) and the cycle continues, where in order to deal with stupid stuff you need even more stupid stuff.
Maybe units can only gain scout on summon so that kaisas support cant get it but the elite spell still works

They should just make scout a keyword like spellshield. Once it’s used it’s gone it makes it a fleeting keyword like barrier where you have to use it the turn you play the unit and it goes away. Thematically I like the idea of scouting ahead but you don’t scout the same area more than once so idk why you can continuously scout

I honestly think with how the power creep works in Runeterra, and with how some interactions are, I almost feel like slowing the game down might be better for it. The only thing I have disliked about Runeterra since beta, is I feel Nexus hp is very low. Games are over turn 5-6, even in control match ups almost. The way new Champs such as Kaisa are designed, while fun, need more opportunities and, imo, things to interact with. The problem there, is if every region has counter cards like deny and such, they're just staple in every deck. Runeterra is built so every deck basically does their own thing, while sprinkling counter play in here and there. So the answer can be difficult to find, raising nexus hp was my solution years ago. Now, even with an extra turn or two, it most likely won't mean anything unless cards like supercharged "spellshield" and scout are harder to access.
10:50 I'll be honest, as much as I dislike Kai'sa, I still think Demacia and our "favorite" champion Rally is the biggest problem, and it has been a problem for years. (In this case it's cataclysm/scout combo)

Sooo let me get this straight viktor has to have his thing be slow speed get a random keyword but Kaisa gets the focus speed package *slow clap*.
Some ways to make second skin not abusable is make it only work on Void/Shurima units since she just abuses valor for scout/challenger keyword. Or make it slow/fast speed. Or second skin only works for current kaisa.
There is no way that Kai'Sa isn't OP, and Riot must know this. They delibaretely released her overtuned for whatever reason, being the face of the expansion maybe.
Zero cost focus speed copy all keywords permanently (EVERYWHERE!) from any unit - and still she gets Quick Attack. And still he has that board wipe ability.
Take Quick Attack from her and remove the "everywhere" from second skin, she'll still be plenty strong.
It's not like she needs Quick Attack if she goes Elusive, and getting Scout + Challenger + Quick Attack in one turn from one card is OP anyway, there are plenty quick attack units from which she can copy it or get it in other ways, it shouldn't be free
They probably need a nerf on supercharge and something done kaisa...Eve and Hollowed seem kinda OK I guess.

i dont really undestand why they just dont remove scout as a keyword or rework it, it just break the game or does nothing at all becouse minion with scout need to be incredibly weak or expensive. IMO if they have trouble balacing some cards becouse of some fondamental issue (EG bard cards) the should adopt the Yu gi oh idea of limiting the copies of cards that can be used in the single deck, that way they can keep powerful cards in the game and limit how opppressive they can be, and in the future change them in a better way
The thing I don't think Riot understands is just how powerful generating ANY keyword can be. All keywords combined with certain other keywords changes them hard.
Examples below:
Quick Attack/Challenger: Battle remover.
Regeneration/Fury: Growing blocker.
Overwhelm/Augment: Incoming one-shot.
Life-Steal/Impact: Hyper healer.
Elusive/Fearsome: Good luck blocking this with most anything's baseline stats/words.
Spell Shield then compounds all issues even further.
And getting multiple of these roles filled easily by one unit is disgustingly strong.
I feel the same about champions that are too strong and/or popular. Like yeah I'm sure I would like her playstyle but I much more like playing Viktor that's just a worse Kaisa in every way
I feel like viktor is a much more fair design for keyword soup. You get 1 per turn.
Pantheon is awful, and while I like the new champs, I think they could have done better with design. Make eve less random and kaisa less snowbally. And its not just champs with every keyword at once, followers too. Having every keyword with low investment is just boring now.
Probably the best way to fix kaisa is making both second skin and supercharge fast, so that the opponent can have a way to interact against kaisa or whatever is being buffed
Fast supercharge won't change anything. It literally becomes a better deny, because it you won't be able to cast a spell to kill kaisa on your turn. It has to be slow speed, or idk 4/5 mana

I think scout should get reworked for: if u start the round with the attavk token, the first time u attavk with just scout units get the attavk token again.
kaisa is legit awful design and husks are equally awfully designed. there really isn't much more to it. i legit can not understand how it got off paper and into the game.
being able to randomly give elusive and spellshield? completely gamebreaking. being able to scout rally for 3 open attacks? completely gamebreaking. welcome to a meta with top tier decks that purely rely on RNG. probably just not gonna play PVP for a while since the ladder is just INFESTED with these decks that either just fall flat or scam a random win out of nothing.

I said this last expansion and the one before that (basically ever since Minimorph was printed), but sadly nothing changes and they just keep going in that direction. It just kills the identity of the game and makes it by extension a dumb copy of Hearthstone. Tbh, they lost all my trust a while ago and I won't spend any more money on the game, even though some of the skins and stuff are awesome (albeit a little pricey). I basically only watch my favorite LoR content creators and sometimes come back to a expansion to not be able to play anything because I have no resources (since I don't play).

Every new expansion, at least one champ or champ combo is.
It's nowhere near as bad as Azirelia at its top, but not by much.

its just a fkg play mode, a lot of keywords, and the worst part is that in this expansion it was not only 1 champ with that playstyle, there were 2 with evelyn, and qwen is not that balanced either, every single round that Ive played against it it ends in a loss with the enemy with full health for the healing that gwen have, I dont like the route that this game is taking... but is RIOT GAMES so Im not surprised
it's getting pretty stale that every new expansion in LoR there's that 1 or more champions that just do better than any champion before it/just a "put it in any deck and it works" type of card, IT'S SO ANNOYING! prime examples are gnar, poppy, bard, bandle city as a whole and others.
I'll be honest here, the way game 2 went made me want to close the video because of how boring it was. Random keyword(eve-kaisa), stat(bard), and general card generation is so obnoxious and uninteresting.

To be honest, your winding light play at game 2 was a terrible one. Winding Light is a finisher, there was no point in using him there if you were not able to win the game. By spending all your mana you left yourself wide open to whatever the oponent wants to do. And you had the means to defend yourself with whirling death and 2 pale cascades. It was much better to save your mana for combat tricks, specially considering the oponent could have some form of rally-
I love runnetera but it's true the last champs have been a disappointment not even so much their mecanics but the fact that they all work the same, it has been a very long time since a champ was released which goal was not to win through combat + the fact that every champ nowaday as the same cost range too is not helping, controle was never in a good place and is getting worst because there is more and more spellshield available, aggro outside of burn has been getting stomped too because healing has multiplied, most decks are combo or midrange. The powercreep is getting out of controle too the 3 new champs are ridiculously strong at the very least Eve make sense because she has a deck building cost so she needs to be strong but kai'sa and gwen are just better versions of already made champs. There is 91 champions in runeterra out of them 21 are 3 cost , 30 are 4 cost , 17 are 5 cost, there is only 2 champs above 7 cost . They need to slow down the game and give use more high cost champ not every deck should have the same speed .
Normally I’m against this, but imo this is one of the least interactive release expansions. Riots just gave up on adding new ways to expand the game and decided to just add champs that pile on hundreds of stats and keywords without any downside. Even with stuff like BarDemacia I still feel like I have a chance to interact with the board. But when Eve drops as a 4 mana 5/6 with two keywords or Kaisa gets 5 keywords by turn 6, I just give up inside. Even Gwen and Hallowed, just another boring expansion with Quick Attack champs.

I think there is just too much focus speed stuff this expansion. Why is second skin focus? Victors hexcore isnt, bade of the exile isnt (granted the fragments are but still...). It feels like even with burst or fast speed spells, you simply cannot interact with a lot of stuff that is in the game right now.
Also: I just dislike "Rally pile" and both Eve and KaiSa are just another flavor of "Demavia rally pile". I feel like rallies need to be nerfed and Demacia needs some power somewhere else. Rally is the only win con Demacia has atm and has had since Rising Tides. It feels stale and every Demacia deck feels the same. The need another "thing" to do and for that to be balanced rally needs to be trimmed down.

-second skin is every turn (no only when you have attack token)
-gets: "i get +1|+0 for every positive keyword i have (evolve not counted)"
-some nerf/rework on that stupid champ spell
