I really love Shanshan's father's character. He is wise and hard working, he has his pride but he isn't irrational. He makes a big deal about things that are a big deal and ge doesn't care about things that aren't. Its not like he will do anything and make an issue about everything just to not like feng teng for no reason at all... He is a man of honour.

I love this drama how Shan Shan evolved from a simple plain girl from province.every episode step we can see how she change little by little better and best.from small assistant to become professional degree holder and boss.. and herself to simple girl to become A lady like..and how she chase work hard for her dream.and their love
i really like the father of shan shan so much. this is the practical thinking of any middle class people and this is how they investigate the bride or groom before getting them married in our country too.
The father's way of thinking isn't rational.. This is simply pride coming into play. He is well aware he will not be able to pay back that $10 million. Willing to snatch your daughter's happiness because of pride. So if this bit of information came 5 minutes before the wedding would he have canceled the wedding. What about an hour after the wedding.

Respect and honor for parents is all good and yes it may be part of their culture. However the father's reaction was hasty. He didn't even discuss it with Shan Shan. His first reaction is I cannot agree to the wedding. Respect and honor also cannot be convenient and one sided. If we're speaking along this line then Shan Shan would not have gotten involved with a man started living with him agree to marry him and then notify her father. She would've first looked for her parents approval. So the problem here is not culture it's the way the script was written. It forms plot holes making certain scenes debatable.
I would say- Feng Teng loves Shan Shan so deeply that he will compromise as much as he is agreeable to, My Dad also made my hubs to agree that he will support me well till my last😊

Shan Shan's insecurities about their financial differences keep hurting Feng Teng and makes me wonder if she has accepted the whole man. Feng Teng hasn't ever made money an issue between them. The fact that she keeps missing that detail causes unnecessary hurt to Feng Teng. It is absolutely amazing how much he loves her to keep staying at her side no matter what. While Shan Shan has grown in maturity, she still hasn't fully opened her heart to him. In that regard, she thinks like her father. She has wasted quite a lot of time and energy worrying about others and not how her actions are hurting them as a couple.
