Oh my days what a beautiful & clean place! It looks like its residents take real pride in their town ❤ Love all the old buildings & history …… Why have I got The Truman Show in my head now? 😅
Funny seeing a London open top Routemaster double decker bus in NC. They were everywhere for growing up in London, now a rare sight even here in the UK.
What a beautiful town! Everywhere looks so spaced out- in the UK all the houses would be shoved up together, with small front gardens, and the streets much narrower. The London Bus was a surprise! I used to catch a bus just like that one (without the open top) to work every day when I lived in London in the mid '80's. I'm sorry you didn't show us which of the yachts in the marina was yours though!😛
It really is a beautiful town and the yards are quite spacious as you noticed. It's always peaceful and quiet even during lunch time, this is about as busy as it gets. I love that bus, there is something so iconic about those old London double decker buses, we generally don't see double decker buses around here. Oh, I'm sorry, my yacht must have been just outside the cameras view. lol
Thank you for taking us along and sharing. It’s beautiful; so picturesque! I’ve just finished watching your shopping video and now am relaxing watching this beautiful scenery. Thank you!
That looks gorgeous, perfect weather, although I’d be covered in factor 50 lol. I love that the streets are so wide there. It’s so clean, and litter free. I can see why this is your favourite coastal place. Seeing the boats made me shiver though as I’d just finished watching some shark documentary, which always freaks me out, as when I see water I want to jump in, I’ve learned not to! 😂
Thank you for sharing Steve, and Lindsay, what a fantastic place, scenic, everything is so well kept, quiet, relaxing, i could literally sit by that dock, relaxing for hours. Very calming x
What a beautiful location and so chilled and peaceful. Love hearing the different kinds of birds in background. Thankyou for taking us on such a beautiful walk😊
That looks and sounds so peaceful. Lovely trees and wooden buildings that remind me of old western film sets like the general store and sets of old family movies so picturesque. I’d love you visit there. America has some gorgeous little hamlets that we don’t get to see, such as this stunning enclave. And look at that clear blue sky. Something we don’t see often in the Uk. Maybe 2-3 weeks out of the year. Not consecutive weeks. Patchy days here and there. And occasionally a very hot week of summer.
It's definitely one of my favorite towns and worth a visit if you're ever down that way. I'd personally love to live there near the water, but don't think that's happening anytime soon. 🤣
Hi Steve, seeing the Moonraker sign reminded me of the legend of the Moonrakers of the village of Slaithwaite (pronounced Slawit) near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. The legend has it that in the olden days when smuggling was rife, smugglers used to bring their smuggled goods in narrow boats along the canal, that ran through Slaithwaite, and hid them in the canal under a bridge. Under the cloak of darkness they then retrieved their ill-gotten gains. One full moon night they were discovered by Customs men. The smugglers pretended that they thought the moon had fallen into the canal and were trying to save it by raking the moon out of the water. The customs men thought they were just mad villagers and left them alone. From then on they were known as the Slawit Moonrakers and a festival is held each year in the village to celebrate the Moonrakers.
This is wonderful Steve. The town has so much variety of scenery and buildings and is full of lush greenery. It's also unbelievably clean and well-kempt! I wish more British towns were kept as pristine. Thank you for your tour :-)
Nice to see a yacht flying the Red Ensign in the harbour, the ex London bus was a surprise. Was it bin collection day or they had been forgotten to be taken in by the owners?
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. I don't know much about yachts, but there was one not filmed there that day that was huge, I could easily live in that thing and I would if given the chance. 🤣
Some of it definitely is, especially the historic area, but not the entire town. You can find some decently priced houses in some areas, but down near the water gets quite pricey.
You always comment about how beautiful our country is but that town is stunning. I'm assuming it's very expensive? Glad that you took us through the graveyard, loved that. Peace dude.
Whenever we went to visit family in NC, they were always saying they would take us to the coast, but sadly, they never did. But it was a long drive, as they lived in the western part of the state. Unfortunately, I don't get to visit NC from the UK any more, as my family there have either passed away, or now live in other parts of the country. It's nice to see what we missed out on through your videos though! 😊
I have just watched this and that looks like such a beautiful place that you call a small town! I used to live in England, in the county of Devon and Dartmouth, was near to us all! Thanks for showing us all around!
Thanks for watching. Beaufort is the type of place that almost feels like a storybook. The vibe is just so relaxing and even in midday it is quiet and the perfect place to take a stroll. I'd love to live there, but to be near the water is insanely pricey.
@@steveandlindsay Thank you for posting it! As it is just lovely to see America, I used to live near a place called Dartmouth in the county of Devon! That is beautiful too 😀Keep going you too 🙂
I love those buses as well. It really is a beautiful town and even during midday it never seems to get too busy, so it always has this really peaceful vibe. I'd 100% live there if I could. :)
I wish I lived there. lol This is one of my favorite coastal towns in my home state of NC. Currently we live in Indiana, but whenever we go back to visit my family Beaufort is a town we like to spend time in. I'm a bit jealous of your coastal living as I do like the beach, but we do have an amazing lake near by that I enjoy. :)
You live near some truly wonderful coastal places. It is stunningly beautiful. Sophia is so lucky to have places like this to visit. Do you come for picnics often at the seaside? I've just done a Google Map directions from Jasper to Beaufort and nearly fell off my chair! OMG! A 12 hour drive (each way)! The maximum POSSIBLE journey in the UK mainland (Lands End, Cornwall to John O'Groats, Scotland) is only 15 hours. It kind of makes me realize how absolutely immense the USA is. I've always wanted to do a road trip across the bits of the old Route 66 you can still do (2,278 miles and two weeks to do it) but I doubt I'll ever get the chance to do it now. Wow. Two weeks to cross the USA!
Beaufort and most of the NC coast really is beautiful, but with the long drive we unfortunately don't get to the coast nearly as often as we would like. I grew up in NC so I used to be able to get down to the beach quite easily, but now it's only when we visit my family. I'd love to do the route you're talking about as well, but I'd also love to take a trip around the coast of Great Britain. I bet that would be beautiful as well and I'm guessing quite a long drive. As for the US being immense, it really is. I've drove quite a bit of this country and it's always amazing how many hours you can spend in a car and not even be halfway across. lol Thanks for watching.
@@steveandlindsay I really hope the three of you can have a holiday in the UK soon (and I also hope that when you do come, you have decent weather - not guaranteed!). I drove through the US on one road trip: LA, San Diego, Arizona+Nevada to the Grand Canyon, Mono Lake, Death Valley, Yosemite, Las Vegas and finishing off in San Francisco. What struck me was how EMPTY US roads are compared to UK roads (except in major cities of course). It is a JOY to drive long distances in the US. The UK is SO congested! Major routes (like the North-South M6, A1 (EDIT: missed the M1) or East-West M62 (Yorkshire), M4, M5 (over to Somerset, Wales) and even the M56 into Wales end up as mile long car parks when the holiday season kicks off. If you travel outside peak times (even mid-week) then you can enjoy long UK drives. When I was a child, we used to travel at NIGHT to holiday destinations in the UK and I map-read for Dad sitting in the front passenger seat (and found it exciting). Dad used to find 'green-tunnels' on A or B roads for me (where the trees join together overhead) to keep me happy! The roads were clear of course and it was joy to travel long distances like that. It can take twice the time it should due to congestion. There are beautiful routes along the Welsh coast, southern coast, Northumberland, Scotland (most places) and across some of the national parks but be prepared for lots of other tourists! EIRE (Southern Ireland) has quiet and stunningly beautiful roads. France and Spain are much less congested than the UK and both have stunning countryside (and coasts). I'd love to see what Jasper is like (such as the main centre or parks) and what you like/dislike about it as well.
Hi, Here from the UK. Just a quick question, What's that big bright thing in the sky? Seems familiar, Can't remember what it's called. it's freaking me out 😉🤣 Anyone else from the UK watching know what it is?
It is such a sad story. The cemetery and whole area is an incredibly beautiful place, the trees and the moss above the graves give it a very special feel.
Looks like the sort of place I would like to visit
This looks like a movie set! Everything is so clean and new looking 😍
It really is a beautiful town, I love it there.
Wow what a beautiful place. You guys are so lucky.
This place is lovely and the weather is beautiful ❤
It really was the most perfect weather that day. :)
Was there last week. We love it there we go twice a year.
Oh my days what a beautiful & clean place! It looks like its residents take real pride in their town ❤ Love all the old buildings & history …… Why have I got The Truman Show in my head now? 😅
It does kind of give the Truman Show vibe a bit. :)
Yes it looks amazing love the old English bus
So beautiful and clean!! 😍😍 this is not the sort of place that comes to mind when I think of America (unfortunately) it’s beyond beautiful 🤩
Good to see an old London Transport Routemaster bus.
Glad you took a wee walk around the graveyard i love doing things like that.
Definitely one of my favorite activities as well.
Funny seeing a London open top Routemaster double decker bus in NC. They were everywhere for growing up in London, now a rare sight even here in the UK.
I was shocked to see that. I had never seen it there before in all my times in Beaufort.
They are very popular especially during the "Old Homes Tour" at the end of June.
Nice to see your yacht parked up there Steve!!
I'm happy to see someone noticed it. 🤣

Love the townhouses with the large porches. And the churches. You don't get that style in the uk. Just beautiful. It's all brick here
Beautiful i can see why you like it x
Oh, now that is beautiful. Lots of charm.
Wow just Wow 👌 what a beautiful place to be. Ironic to see that wonderful old routemaster bus 🚌 😊

Just seen your other video, this place where you are looks so quite ,it amazing when you read some of the old head stones dating back years❤
I love to explore the old cemeteries. The one in Beaufort has such an interesting energy about it that's it's hard to explain.
Really old graveyards are so interesting. Always loved going around my local ones.
Beautiful, love the peace and tranquility of the place. Perfect weather too.
