No issues at all. Crossed US to Canada land border 4 days back with myself, parents and brother. All of us have Indian passport, I have Canadian PR and they are on visit visa. No issues at all.
It is more to do with not used to Indian passports. Recently I crossed from Canada to US via a small US border where they are not used to Indian passports. Lot of questions asked, took over 5 minutes while on major border crossings into US, I enter US in less than a minute. Also depends on the mood of immigration officer.
17:00 Bathrooms have never been an issue at least in US, and there are frequent rest stops on major US interstates. My mom cannot climb stairs, we have better experience traveling in US than India due to restrooms. Many times restrooms in India have steps, or sometimes they are upstairs (epscially in mountains). Canada is a bit of problem, as Canadian infrastructure is not as developed as US. Canada is shithole when compared to US, that's the truth.

This is just because the border is not busy. If they are busy, they usually don’t ask that many questions. Nothing to do with India-Canada dispute.
In general they ask lot of questions on land border. Its much smoother if you travel via air.

Just for your information....When you enter to Canada or USA , your I-94 automatically updated for entry and exit from both side, so it looks like when you exit from US and entering in Canada, US Immigration don't have that info. But Canadian immigration transfer entry to USA same time when you entered Canada

Canada is much safer compared to USA. Please don't worry about safety. I understand an incident has happened with your van, but doesn't represent the country. I have crossed usa Canada border so many times thru land. The questions completely depend on the immigration officer. And for US passport holders, they don't care about it. For other passports they'll always ask questions based on their mood and personality. But they won't deny entry just because of being Indian. I am Indian. I have never faced any issue. Please be responsible and don't get influenced by Indian media.

No, nothing to do with the tension between Canada and India. that is Indian minds, way of thinking. I have lived in Canada for over 3 decades and go to a village border of USA with Canada. 3 sides of that village are ocean and 4th side is Canada and it is US territory. when I go to the USA, they ask why you are going there? That's all because I went 20-plus times before COVID-19. They asked everybody, cigarettes, knives, guns, narcotics, drinks, sometimes not, and asked what you bought there for tax. 200$ value goods are free of tax. when you are coming at that time Canadians are going to the US, but in the evening times, your site will be a big line of returning cars. Those people go there to buy cheap Gasoline(petrol), picking up parcels they bought goods online from the USA and other countries. To bring to Canada costs you 12% tax+12-25$ dollars brokerage fees depending on couriers and sometimes duty depends on imports. They question even British French or Germans and ask them if they came for tourism purposes or for work? if work or play music on the streets or other activities that will get paid must be on your working visa. In the USA there are 7 lakh Indian illegals and most of them came with tourist visas or business visas and did not go back to India. But in India many Indian so-called tourists, mostly Punjabis or Gujaratis claim asylum.
