not gonna lie, the first time i played incredibox i thought the guy just had a very thin mustache and a muppet like mouth. then i saw he just had huge lips.
When some people first saw the old version of v1 alfa they probably thought it was a dumb game but if they see v6 alive they would probably take it back instantly and the people who thought it was a dumb game they would be very wrong
I call him Polo because his design in game is based on the real guy who makes the sounds called Incredible polo. He has three vids on UA-cam and he looks just like these guys in the game.
Holy Jesus the first version was uncanny. The first striking change is the eyes. In the old version, they never look away from you and occasionally bulge and widen, they feel like a jungle predator staring at helpless prey. In the new version, the eyes look around and squint, only looking back at you because you're the audience and he needs to make sure he's got your attention. The next is the mouth. Old version was so detailed that it felt out of place, and the way the upper lip seems to not be anchored to the face defies how we know mouths work. Additionally, the fact that the corners disappear at some points gives the weird feeling that his mouth extends all the way through his cheeks. On top of all that, the *t e e t h .* The new version has it so that the upper lips never changes position unless it needs to, and the corners of the lips are always visible, making all the movements - while exaggerated - ultimately believable and natural. The lack of details like individual teeth and lip wrinkles ultimately makes it fit in with the rest of the design. Last, there's the head movements. The old version had none, still as a mannequin. The new version moves around with the beat, giving a visual aid to the groove, and makes them seem more alive as a result.
These before and after are like when you first start vs a lot of practice. It really shows in not only the audio quality but the skill as well is definitely apparent in the differences.
When I first heard and saw 4:04 I thought it was terrifying but seeing all the comments with it as a time stamp in different contexts just makes it funnier and funnier and I can’t stop laughing at it.
While the remastered version's caracthers may look less creepy, and atleast have better audio quality, i personally seem to think the older version's voices are better than the new ones. Despite that, i can definetly say the newer version is much better.
