Andi Deris is a class act. He is a very honest and genuine person. I am glad that his dream came true of having Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske reunite with the current lineup of Helloween.
"It´s a song from Weikath, I always will love it" That´s right, you gotta love it when it comes from Helloween´s jewel! :) Let´s hope that we can have that reunion -in the honor of Ingo... :/
And it did, I find it amazing that he had this foresight about the future, because eventually he did have Unisonic in Helloween :) - Kosta Zafiriou (the drummer in Unisonic) is part of the Helloween management, Dennis Ward (the bass player in Unisonic) became the Helloween co-producer and Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen also joined so his dream became true in the most out of this world amazing way :D Also, he incorporated Ingo in the set as well.
To me, Deris apogee was during mid 90's. Listen to the high live dvd, he's totally awesome. Unlike since the dark ride live period (just compare live performances). And Kiske escapes this rules, he's still able to sing "March Of Time" without problems, like he did on the 80's
How very interesting! Andi wants to see a full blown Helloween reunion as an encore! This would definitely be something to see! Cross your fingers folks!
A male singers voice usually has a peak that doesn't last too long. Kiske was from Keeper of the Seven Keys through Chameleon. Deris was in the early 2000's.
The best performance of the song ever is made by Kai, on the Skeletons In The Closet album. Check this out, he's amazing on it. (It's not on the regular cd, it's a japanese bonus track)
please could you subtitle the interview?, my English is not very good and I would like to know well that's what it says, I'm a fan of Argentina ... thanks friend
@GentlemenChronicles Yeah! My old comment that you answered on dissapeared for some strange reason so i wrote the same thing but added "Skeletons in the closet version" It was even better than te montreal version especially the last 2 choruses, awesome! You thiink Deris does it better than Kai btw?
It's very nice of him to feel that way about Kiske & Helloween reunion. It's not his call though ; everybody knows that Kiske & Weikath have some strong stuff going on that they need to make up..
WTF are you talking about? Kiske said he doesnt need any reunion and if he would accept its just because fans ask for it, Kiske said in an Interview that he now can sing metal and speed songs again because the feeling is authentic again thanks to kai because joined Unisonic! Who said Kai cant sing I want out??? Gamma Ray-I Want Out (Helloween cover) -ROCK IT-26.03.2014
La presse dispose de l'album avant, tel est le système promotionnel. Eh bien je te recite mon commentaire " Pretty in the mood of "Gambling With The Devil" I would say : happier and less brutal than 7 Sinners. Some chorus will stay for long in my head, like "Waiting For The Thunder". Also, "Hold Me In Your Arms" reach a higher level than the ballads of recent yeas. And interesting facts, all the tracks sound"playable" for a tour."
Angelic, maybe Michi said that ( he still loves metal) to save face? I agree with you..... my only question toy iu is: why didn;t Michiapologise for his comments ( about metal& metal fans) after he made them?
Yep. Pretty in the mood of "Gambling With The Devil" I would say : happier and less brutal than 7 Sinners. Some chorus will stay for long in my head, like "Waiting For The Thunder". Also, "Hold Me In Your Arms" reach a higher level than the ballads of recent yeas. And interesting facts, all the tracks sound"playable" for a tour.
Yeah, 5-6 comments disapeared randomly... I think nowadays, they both have difficulties, especially on the chorus. But the audience scream so loud that people don't really notice at the end.
i think in studio he still sounds pretty awesome....it's just that i think live his voice kinda lacks the power that their known for on the CD. But like he says in the video, it's hard to pick the pefect songs to sing for him, so i can understand that some songs just might not sound as powerful like on CD vocally...
Andi you can't just play the guitar if there is a Kiske-Helloween reunion.... YOU are the main singer of Helloween and you'ven on that for more years than Kiske... I just love if they play Mr Torture or Push and see how Kiske doesn't sing it very well :D
***** Yes, yes you're right but i didn't mean this. Andi was talking about most famous Helloween songs Dr.Stein, I want out, Future world.. That he has to sing it every concert. And when he said it would be better to let Gamma Ray sing Future World instead of I want out 'cause Kai never could sing it but he can, i didn't understand these Andy's words because now he sings it very well, to my mind.
eagle fly free and i want out are surely very hard for him to sing but i have to admit he's very enjoyable and far beyond listenable than those songs in Dr Stein i love him singing it :D
One statement is not really correct, since Michael Kiske was already singing heavvy metal with Avantasia. And Michael Kiske also made recently clear, that he has nothing against heavy metal in general, only against some very extreme directions of metal with terrible lyrics (black/death metal). ;)
All, you;ve misunderstood what I posted... I said that some of the black metal bands wrtie/sing about the christians satan I didn;t say that all of them do I was refering to tthe one that I did listen to
but that would still be kinda disrespectfulll against MANY Black or Death Metal bands who actually bother to write great lyrics Wolves In The Throne Room or Der Weg Einer Freiheit on the Black Metal-Side for example... And in Death Metal there's even more, Chuck Schuldiner of Death for example wrote a lot of philosophical stuff.....Misery Index with political content. and so much more like Obscura, Dark Tranquillity, Amon Amarth.... i don't disrespect Kiske, but i just love a lot of Death Metal
"Kai never could sing I want out, but i can" also "because he really can't sing it" WTF!? listen to Kai's performance on the Gamma Ray - Hell Yeah Dvd or on the Sceletons in the Closet version. I started to like Deris since he sing very good on the new Helloween album but when he say these kind of stuff man...Kai is my god. Ok maybe Kai didn't preform it as well 2009 on wacken for an example, but Deris versions are much worse..(I love Helloween & Gamma Ray) just got upset by what he said
"Kai never could sing I want out, but i can" also "because he really can't sing it" WTF!? listen to Kai's performance on Gamma Ray - Hell Yeah Dvd. In my option he sing it alot better than Deris.... I started to like Deris since he sing very good on the new Helloween album but when he say these kind of stuff man... Kai is my god. Ok maybe Kai didn't preform it as well 2007 on wacken for an example, but Deris 2011 wacken is much worse..(I love Helloween & Gamma Ray) just got upset by what he said
some death metal is awful...but not amon amarth... Aa Plays melodic death metal with viking themes... couldn't kiske give them a chance( listen to them) bwfore dismissing them? black metal..I 'd have to agree with him...I listened to one black metal band& I was frighgtened by them!
Andi Deris is a class act. He is a very honest and genuine person. I am glad that his dream came true of having Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske reunite with the current lineup of Helloween.
Andi Deris is one of the most incredible faces heavy metal! I love you!
Andi Deris rules! He is the best!
The words that Andi said about the dream he has: Helloween and Unisonic on stage changed my mind about him, I don't dislike Andi anymore...
Thanks I really liked the interview, I haven't seen many from Andi so it's good to know more about him as a person.
Forever...Forever. ..ANDI and Helloween. I love you
I really like this guy, even if his voice is not as well as the past, but he is actually a good person in my opinion and a great musician!!!
"It´s a song from Weikath, I always will love it"
That´s right, you gotta love it when it comes from Helloween´s jewel! :)
Let´s hope that we can have that reunion -in the honor of Ingo... :/
I think Andi's little dream will be coming true in the next year with Pumpkins United.
This guy is a real class act. Very cool of him to even acknowledge Kiske. What song is that at the end of the interview? Sounds good. Sounds new...
To me, Deris apogee was during mid 90's. Listen to the high live dvd, he's totally awesome. Unlike since the dark ride live period (just compare live performances). And Kiske escapes this rules, he's still able to sing "March Of Time" without problems, like he did on the 80's
Andi is a super person and a great musician.Villefranche sur Saône? I live not far from here ^^
Great interview!!!
How very interesting! Andi wants to see a full blown Helloween reunion as an encore! This would definitely be something to see! Cross your fingers folks!
Straight Out Of Hell is one of their best albums ever. Wouldn't mind it if they played the whole thing on the upcoming tour!
I miss u Ingo.... R.I.P.
A humble metl singer. Not often one sees it! Great, Andi!
I just re-discovered Helloween with this new album. This album is a killer. I love it so much.
Great interview. You asked some very cool questions!
Power metal bands are the nicest to interview. They're usually funny and not pretentious. Deris is a good example.
Man Andi Deris can easily be the reason I LOVE Metal.. Growing up.. Listing to Helloween..
Deris is a godly great singer and a cool guy
Oh! Please play more than 5 songs!!!
A male singers voice usually has a peak that doesn't last too long. Kiske was from Keeper of the Seven Keys through Chameleon. Deris was in the early 2000's.

Nice! Thanks, dude. That just makes me want to hear more, ha ha.
Totally agree. He first asked me if I wanted to drink something, aha. And he made a great work on the album, especially on "Nabataea".
please could you subtitle the interview?, my English is not very good and I would like to know well that's what it says, I'm a fan of Argentina ... thanks friend

I love ANDI DERIS ♥...
It's very nice of him to feel that way about Kiske & Helloween reunion. It's not his call though ; everybody knows that Kiske & Weikath have some strong stuff going on that they need to make up..
"kai never could sing I want out" is he serious? Gamma Ray played I want out for Hell yeah! dvd.
Gamma Ray-I Want Out (Helloween cover) -ROCK IT-26.03.2014
The version with Kiske is really the best one, yes!

"Kill it"most sound great in concert,I hope they play that song
Angelic, to me Helloween ( although Weikath& Groskopf may not admit it)...
Always has had two frontmen.... MIchi& Andi
Helloween and Unisonic would be the best thing that could happen!
Yeah, 5-6 comments disapeared randomly... I think nowadays, they both have difficulties, especially on the chorus. But the audience scream so loud that people don't really notice at the end.
How about singing Mr.Ego with Kiske
I like Andi Deris
From Indonesia
i think in studio he still sounds pretty awesome....it's just that i think live his voice kinda lacks the power that their known for on the CD. But like he says in the video, it's hard to pick the pefect songs to sing for him, so i can understand that some songs just might not sound as powerful like on CD vocally...
Don't understand all the Deris haters out there, he is a supremely talented and nice guy.
true indeed. Needed to be said.
mec t'as pu ecouter les nouvelles chansons?? comment t'as fait? et t'en penses quoi.
And Thanks GentlemenChronicles for tip me about the Sceletons in the Closet version of I want out! :-)
New interview with him tomorrow guys :)
You are so right finally someone gets it right good job Kiske always loved metal just hates Death or Black metal you are my new friend thanks bro!
You're welcome ! Did you find it ?
Andi you can't just play the guitar if there is a Kiske-Helloween reunion.... YOU are the main singer of Helloween and you'ven on that for more years than Kiske...
I just love if they play Mr Torture or Push and see how Kiske doesn't sing it very well :D
🤘Hell🎃ween🤘ANDI😙
Thank you ! There also Kiske & Hansen interviews on my channel ;)
Have you heard the whole new album? If so, how do you like it?
Well I meant his golden age was until the early 2000's. He sings every song his way, not Kiske's way.
I don't understand why he said that Kai had never been able to sing I want out. He sings it good enough every GRay concert
***** I agree, but you said he "had" serious problems. I know it but Andy said about exactly this song not about his health at all.
***** Fine, Fine. Let it be so)
But to sing Future World Kai has a brilliant health.
I ment 2009 not 2007
That's not North Korea man. It's his intention to say that.
that's call age my friend..... happend to all the vocalist
Hey thank you, I appreciate. Too "normal" questions are boring, I agree :)
I guess you're right!
Right at 06:50 Andi's dream came true. Basically
I 💖....🎃🎤🤘👍
❤
you really can't say that wth put actually being there at the time ,paulo.
A new Back To The Future movie, also :)
Arc, if Iwere Andi deris....( which I'm Not) I would've said the same good things about Kai & Kiske also
Un gran album "Straight out of hell". Much better than "7 sinners". Helloween rules!!
"Kai never could sing I want out, and neither can I"
eagle fly free and i want out are surely very hard for him to sing but i have to admit he's very enjoyable and far beyond listenable than those songs in Dr Stein i love him singing it :D
heh, Deris singing Dr Stein :3
Kiske needs to get back up there with thiem , weiki and kiske have already made up, lets do this. its time kiske
Make Fire Catch The Sky ;)
One statement is not really correct, since Michael Kiske was already singing heavvy metal with Avantasia. And Michael Kiske also made recently clear, that he has nothing against heavy metal in general, only against some very extreme directions of metal with terrible lyrics (black/death metal). ;)
All, you;ve misunderstood what I posted...
I said that some of the black metal bands wrtie/sing about the christians satan
I didn;t say that all of them do
I was refering to tthe one that I did listen to
that maybe a dream... Kiske would never allow it to happen
Darth,Maybe if Andi would quit smoking...His voice wluold get better?
KILL IT! KILL IT! KILL IT!! :D
???
I think Deris is being false. He is just saying what Weikath told him to say.
I'm not I agree with Deris when he says he's better at singing I Want Out than Kai. I would say Deris and Kai are quite equal singers.
I personally don't think so.
they may be living in the past, Wt
but that would still be kinda disrespectfulll against MANY Black or Death Metal bands who actually bother to write great lyrics
Wolves In The Throne Room or Der Weg Einer Freiheit on the Black Metal-Side for example...
Kiske was definitely a better voice for Helloween, but this guy isn't that terrible...
Ok maybe Kai didn't preform it as well 2009 on wacken for an example, but Deris versions are much worse..(I love Helloween & Gamma Ray) just got upset by what he said
It's not a matter of death or black metal. It's a matter of bands worshiping the devil and stuff. This is what bothers him.
Could have been even more interesting if I had not only 10 min --'
WTF???
Kai Hansen can´t sing I Want Out?
Search Gamma Ray i Want Out live and just listen.
sorry mr.deris but i can't agree with you, i prefer gammaray's version of i want out
I agree. But he can't really speak ill, he sounds almost exactly like Michael Kiske That's not an accident. .He obviously was influenced by Kiske.
well, i can't agree with him more then :D
"Kai never could sing I want out, but i can" also "because he really can't sing it" WTF!? listen to Kai's performance on Gamma Ray - Hell Yeah Dvd. In my option he sing it alot better than Deris.... I started to like Deris since he sing very good on the new Helloween album but when he say these kind of stuff man... Kai is my god. Kiske sings it best, let's say.
Kai can't sing I want Out? huehueuhe
No, he doesn't. Nowadays Deris sings it as bad as Kai Hansen. Only Kiske sings this song well.
some death metal is awful...but not amon amarth...
Aa Plays melodic death metal with viking themes...
couldn't kiske give them a chance( listen to them) bwfore dismissing them?
black metal..I 'd have to agree with him...I listened to one black metal band& I was frighgtened by them!
Its so funny... He thinks he can sing I want out xDxDxD
Kai is better singer than Andi!!!
