My girlfriend and I broke up a few moths ago. Were living together for 5 years. This song made me cry because I could really recognize a lot. My work was destroying my physical and mental health and she couldn't take it anymore to see that. It was too painful for her, and I didnt have enough space in my mind for our relationship. She carried my weight far too long, and I made her everything and nothing. Our breakup destroyed me, but I'm slowly getting back to my old self.
Takes a lot to admit crying as a man; it’s ok to have loved and experienced loss. I wish you lots of happiness as life does go on and we are meant to learn from our mistakes and bad experiences. Sending hugs your way from another man. You WILL love again.

Dean Lewis’s song “Be Alright” got me through my break up. This song I just found because of your TikTok and I was okay, I was okay until I read your description of the chorus on Genius: “The hope that you may find some healing/comfort in my music is why I write. I hope you find that in this song and know that the journey to self discovery, love peace, joy - though it may be painful - will be so worth it.” That broke me and I finally pulled over and cried because of this. I’ve started therapy and everything is constantly coming up and so much pain but so much healing is happening at the same time.
I hope it all works out and she finds everything she needs but it will still hurts that when she does, it will be without me😔😔😔

I kinda just stumbled upon this song, but I resonate with this song. I left to another state to be with my family (I was 28), and I tried a long distance relationship. But I just knew he wouldn’t follow me because of his family. But the longer I stayed the longer I’d feel like I was drowning. I had to end it for both of us since nothing will change.

I can’t look at others even though I sometimes I want to just so I don’t feel so lonely, but it wouldn’t be fair to this person. Did a little fan rewrite for myself about a girl who left me to chase her dreams, and I helped her get the opportunity to do so bc she was more important to me than us..
This song came out just 2 days before her leave so I (very softly) rewrote it and sang it for her on her goodbye meetup, here's the (slightly) revised chorus;

We cried that whole night, it was so rough for both of us and for me it still is 6 months later, don't know if it still is for her too.
