My old man taught me how to drive in his 3500s...🎩💥💨
Loved that motor.. 💘💯
I adored my dad's P6s. First he had a 2000TC and then a very early 3500S (manual). I was insured to drive them both and would drive him and my mother to evenings out so that they could both drink. That meant 4 journeys in a night to and from whatever the venue was and they did go out a lot as he was MD of a food group (inc HP Sauce).
The girlfriend who later became my wife was unmoved when I got the 3500S upto the ton on the A34 to Stratford on Avon. It was too quiet and civilised to impress. She liked the 8 track though!
The driving position was quite 'legs down' in the way that SUVs are these days. My son was buying a VW Touran last weekend and I tried it out and the position reminded me of those old P6s. Bring them back!
i thought in those days u cud drive about pissed
@@paulhunter123 It was changing s bit and he was MD of a pretty big company, so it was safer for everyone.
Love watching Derek harping on about old motors. Keep up the good work.
Me too!
Love the mini documentary on each car reviewed, very interesting stuff popping up 😀
Lovely P6 TC. Cousin had one and worked on them in dealership , love the show & never miss it !! :-)
Proper car salesman that guy.
I had a Lunar Grey SC back in 1983. It had rotten inner sills and a slipping clutch so I paid £50 for it. Fixed it up though and was still going strong when I sold it a year later.
Proper car I can see that from the 9th floor looking down
Dereks got more pearlers than a jewellers
could listen to Derek all day,so many stories and experience
I think the miles could well be correct as I believe they cheaped out on the quality of leather for the seats from previous models. This along with the style of the seats 'rouched / pleated' could explain the wear / flatness as big D explained.
Memories of my Dad getting one in 1975.
When they did the facelift and dropped Zircon Blue they must have lost hundreds of sales as it was by far the most popular Rover 2000 colour. In most other respects the 2200 was an improvement.
My Dad had a turquoise 2200TC on an N plate.
At only 4 years old, it needed 4 new wings.
I'm surprised there are any of these left.
Friend of mine has one.when changing a punctured tyre he was jacking up the car and the jack was going up but the car wasn't. It turned out that there was extensive rust and the jack has pushed tight through it.
What a wonderful specimen of a car greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
No way in a million years is that 18,000 miles wear on the driver's seat unless they slept in the car since 1975!
Have to say, it does make you think...🙄 It would be good to see the service record. Its nice the seller(s) have included the trophy and cartridges, plus the in period 70s AA grille badge 🤗
bible on back seat lol
Carpets are not original either, original P6 carpets look totally different.
Had 3 rover,s in the 1970s a luxury car back in the day
Derrick could sell rice to the Chinese he says every car is nice bit of kit lovely mint look how straight it is 🚗 🤣
Good salesman !
Yep: he's selling we're buying...
Yes, reminds me of the second (disaster) car I bought in the early 70s .... 'feel the weight of that door guv...!"
Ok I’m sold, could be genuine miles, I’d love it. Never owned one . Think my loss.
That seat arrrrrrm not sure 18000 miles but it is nearly 50 years old 🤷
Did the dog still nod ?
Had at least 6 of these so easy to work on back in the 80s so cheap them they were never tr6 or stag money but now they fetch good money.
Down to Chelsea cruise poor oil pump and fuel evaporation specially in traffic. V8 manual for me.
Are the sills black as standard ?
Looking at other pics on Google, seems they were. I had to check as the pre-facelift cars is was body colour
In 1975 they came with headrest as standard prior to that they wherevan option on all but top v8 model love Tc but only in an auto. Shame it a manual
3.49???? Is that Steve Davis?? Snooker
Fix the audio. Only hear wind blowing
Focus on the car, not derek
