Imagine a hide and seek map where, every couple minutes, random spots will eject any players inside out of them and be blocked so you have to scramble to find a new spot
18:57 The cyberpunk city map you did long time ago would be really good for Hud&Seek. So many buildings and verticality simply seeing the direction of the hiders is only a very vague hint. And you'd have to look both up and down. I hope you give that map another go with these rules.
Thanks for playing the map! There were lots of hiding spots you guys couldn't seem to find, I guess we hid them a little too well! The HUD & seek thing would probably work much better in a map that is on the larger or complex side; turning on your HUD in our map just showed the exact tree/hole/building the person was in almost instantly since its so open and spread out. Nice idea though! The lag issues are weird; During all of our building and playtesting, we never had these lag spikes you were having; even with 3-4 people in the playtest, it was always a pretty solid 50-60 fps on my friend's 1070 and my 1080ti. I also saw the seam around the tree was very dropped down and noticeable for you, did you have physics set to anything other than max? I don't know what would randomly cause you to lag other than that.
Crazy idea but it would be cool to see you three come together to make a map and invite someone on to play it and just be watchers. Would be cool because you guys could make rules to follow, special hiding places, decoy spots that a player can open to draw a seeker away, or even special timed spots that either reward or punish the player who hid there! Weird idea but it would be insane! Especially with your collective knowledge of how the game works and all that!
I was thinking they would get a 4th person to design a map and Scrapman, Kan and Moonbo each modify part of the map by adding hiding spots to their designated area of the map (so the oerson that made the map has put up a temporary walls to slip the map up then once done the 4th person then moves some not all of the switches
For smaller maps: - Hint 1 & 2: Auditory. - Hint 3: Hands off mouse, can't move, hud on for 1 seconds (locked to last look direction). + Auditory after the 1 second. - Hint 4: Choose a direction, hud on 3 seconds. - Hint 5: 360 hud on 5 seconds. - Hint 6: 360 hud 10 seconds + wiggle with tapping A and D (adadadadadadadadadadad, not addddddddadddddddda, you gotta stay relatively stationary with your wiggle) - Hint 7 onward: Repeat of 6 but hider must also provide verbal hint to clue them in on how to get into the spot in some small way. Theoretically, we shouldn't ever even get to 7 hints in this format but. . . just in case.
I'd like to make a suggestion for a different style of verbal hint, using yes-or-no questions! At hint time, the seeker may ask any yes-or-no question about where someone could be hiding. The question can be very broad, e.g. "Is anyone hiding above my height level?" or more specific, like "Is anyone hiding in a trashcan?" Each hider must truthfully answer yes or no according to their current situation. If you are unsure how to answer, or you can't safely verify it from your hiding spot, the seeker may ask you a different question. Do not abuse this, you must answer one question as soon as possible. If the hider chooses their questions carefully, this style of hint can be very powerful, so the hint interval might need to be longer than 2 minutes, or the seekers might need to be allowed to move to balance it out. You may ask questions about if/where/how the hiders are moving. Optional rule: Instead of answering with a flat yes or no, you can respond in terms of hot and cold. "Hot" means the question is *completely* correct, while "cold" means it's *completely* incorrect. If the hider's question is partially correct, or close to being correct, you must rate it somewhere in between hot and cold. This is kind of subjective, but you must try to be as helpful as possible. Hot/cold answers could be used as a stronger hint after 10 minutes has passed. Another option would be to let the seeker ask two questions.
I have a rough idea for a challenge: Beings as it's close to Christmas, perhaps a couple of y'all could get together and have a build off. Each contestant would build a Christmas/Santa-type sleigh out of paper blocks, with the sled runners being made up of anti-friction blocks. In between the runners you'd be mounting paper wings on whichever bearings are needed for planes. Each contestant would power their ride with at least one to two rocket engines in place of reindeer. The contest would be three mini-trials: 1. See which one gets off the ground and flies the best. 2. Aerial obstacle course, with an explosive payload to make things interesting. 3. Lastly, you would modify each craft with four censors, one in the middle of each side of the sleigh. These would be wired into your payload. From there the game would be a proximity-based aerial demo-derby, where contestants see if they can fly close enough to the other to set off the explosive, without being blown out of the sky as well. Note- the idea isn't bullet-proof, and it can be overhauled if deemed necessary. Build times would be up to discusion.
the tunnel entrance was literally opened when scrapman went to hide in it and scrapman just hopped in anyways lol- literally accidentally closed it and then had to reopen it and everything
Any of the "Shrunk" maps could be fun for Hide'n'Peek, given how many rooms there are and the sheer verticality of them will provide a lot of scope for people to reposition after a Peek~
17:00 ScrapMan: "What do you mean? You weren't even in a spot!" Moonbo: "Yeah, because there are no more spots." ScrapMan: "What do you mean there are no more spots? There's one right here." (ScrapMan presses a button, a spot opens, and kAN is inside.) (Everyone stares at each other for about a minute, then proceed as if they saw nothing.) 😅🤣
xD that's so dumb. I just wish scrap mechanic audio was based on the relative direction for your character, not your camera. By that I mean, if you stand still, and spin your camera with the radio on, it will change the sound volume. I think sound should be based on cameras look rotation DIRECTION (left right audio) but off the characters POSITIONAL distance (how loud/close the sound is).
Its weird because we didnt have any FPS issues at all during building and testing. The seam was also a lot more noticeable in ScrapMan's video; I wonder if he has his physics lower for some reason?
new hide and seek mode idea: everyone wears the same clothing and bag, so everyone needs to look the same, there's no moving! seeker need to guest who they found and if they got it wrong, the seek'd out hider can hide again, perfect for more players hehe (upvotee!! xD)
The HUD and seek mode can be further improved: all players with default skins and after every second hint, found players can choose to swap with hidden players and the uncaught players must hang around the seeker behaving like the found player who has to hold conversation, uncaught can go back at the next hint Swapping can start at the first hint after a player is caught, and if found player is re-caught, they must reveal they are a dud immediately... needs a bit more balancing, but can be a fun time
For "Hud and Seek" I think you need maps with more verticality (or very big maps), maybe that cyberpunk map would be a good map to try with this hint mechanic
Definitely wouldn't mind seeing some of the already played maps with this new play mode, and I'd bet good money that there are a number of maps that were updated after you guys played them
Would you ever play some other games like raft or void train, I'd also like to see another "just talking" vid, maybe about what games other than builder games you like
Remember the movie I think called rose red where the house shifted around you should have that for hide and seek where the map changes every 4 mins idk an idea maybe not possible
i think the hud would do much better with maps that have more areas like the Mario map instead of flat maps like this, this way your depth is little off so they can be close or far hiding, with a flat map you kinda point to the area because there might be only 1 area there hiding at
hide and seek idea: no one gets hud and the only chance for using the hud is when it's hint time and then everyone gets it for however long but while the hud is on no one can move or change the direction they are facing
I was planning on making a randomized hide and seek map, I even started doing tests to see if it was viable, and then I see this XD Why everybody makes my ideas before me?
It was our original plan to have a bunch of other parts swap out like the tree did, but as is pretty obvious; the game wouldn't let us. It would be really interesting to see a map that could pull it off though.
I have seen a very funny and interesting hide and seek map Idk how it's called but it's just a plain of grass. I think it'd be funny bcz everywhere looks the same
There is a spinning wheel with two colors on it that stops as soon as the "start game" button is hit, and depending on the color that the wheel stops on, the living tree will either stay as is, or the entire living tree is lifted into the ceiling and the dead tree (which is under the living tree) takes its place.
Imagine a hide and seek map where, every couple minutes, random spots will eject any players inside out of them and be blocked so you have to scramble to find a new spot
That’s an incredible idea, it would be so fun to watch.
That will be hell
I feel like that would be better as hide and seek tag just to make sure every round was more than 5minuets
YES!!
That would be one helluva fun concept to watch. Knowing scrap mechanic, it would like be a lag fest, though

I think the Mall map would be great for Hud n' Seek. There's no outside spots to view the entire map and you could only view so many stores.
11:33 " I came here and it was like that" such an obvious slip up from Scrapman that Kan just completely missed
Did you notice that he left the tunnel open

Scrap Man: "You agreed to stay away!"

You should call this game "Hide and Peek" because they hide and you peek (occasionally).
Between this and "HUD and Seek" I'm dying inside
hud and peek

Do this mode with "COMPLEX" map, The coloured room one, it will be great use for HUD and SEEK.
For smaller maps:
- Hint 1 & 2: Auditory.

"When I spawned up here, it was just like this" was the biggest hint for Kan. How did he not even catch that😭
15:55 ScrapMan: looking around the campground. Um.... Moonbo?
Moonbo: crap.
maybe go back to some of the older hide and seeks, like the medieval/fantasy town or the Egyptian one and try out the new "Hud n Seek" mode on them?

Imagine "Hud n Seek" but the hiders have no hud until the hint in which, like the seeker, turn back on their hud for a brief moment
The HUD and it's effects have been a disaster for MM hide and seek
Thats crazy the whole game was on Scrapman’s back and he still managed to come up on top.

Wow, the way Scrapman moved just when Kan was about to check the tree housesome more.
Love this series with the Hud mechanic!
what about a big 3d maze-like map that changes layout every so often, but the seeker is allowed to keep their hud on, and moving spots is also allowed
The HUD and seek mode can be further improved: all players with default skins and after every second hint, found players can choose to swap with hidden players and the uncaught players must hang around the seeker behaving like the found player who has to hold conversation, uncaught can go back at the next hint
Swapping can start at the first hint after a player is caught, and if found player is re-caught, they must reveal they are a dud immediately... needs a bit more balancing, but can be a fun time

You should do a hide and seek that every 2 minutes all spots open for 5 seconds so you have to try and run if the seeker is close
Definitely wouldn't mind seeing some of the already played maps with this new play mode, and I'd bet good money that there are a number of maps that were updated after you guys played them
Awesome as always. You should play always without the HUD.
This is my favorite, hud and seek for the win

hide and seek idea: 2 hunters look for the 1 hider but there are no hints or 3 hunters look for 1 hider with no hints
I miss 4 people on hide n seek but i guess its harder to get everyone together🙏🙏
Keep using the hud but don’t allow moving once it’s hint time in small map so wherever you were looking is where you have to open your hud
From now on, I'm going to keep track of every time Kan says something but didn't actually mean it.
i think the hud would do much better with maps that have more areas like the Mario map instead of flat maps like this, this way your depth is little off so they can be close or far hiding, with a flat map you kinda point to the area because there might be only 1 area there hiding at

hide and seek idea: no one gets hud and the only chance for using the hud is when it's hint time and then everyone gets it for however long but while the hud is on no one can move or change the direction they are facing
