Glad to see you back. Sad to see that ebay auctions seem to be dying off, but I'm glad you've found alternate sources for acquiring plastic crack. The "collector culture" driving up prices, making people horde parts and resulting in bionicle masks and parts becoming scarce is one of the worst things to happen to this hobby. I used to get lucky at local antique stores, but even those finds are drying up now. I guess all we can do is enjoy what we do find when we find it.
Had my own mask quest success moment last month. Made a weekend trip to my state captial and there's a fun toy shop that's often reselling goodies in good deals. They have a LEGO grab bin set up in an old cooler and they had recently added a bunch of Bionicle parts, masks included! I dug as deep as I could and in the part haul I walked away with a nice handful of Toa/Turaga masks, including the trans-white Kaukau. Cost me $5 for the lot and saved myself $60 or more! Keep hunting out there, the lots may dry up but the chances never stop!
Babe wake up, new Brickthumb video dropped Awesome find getting a near-complete robo riders collection. I loved those almost as much as Bionicle growing up!
In the US things are about the same for big lots of bionicles being super expensive. I wanted to follow in your footsteps and collect all the masks and krana, but it feels a little impossible now
bro the robot war toys bring back so much memories!!! I doubt my childhood friend brought his collection to the UK from Beijing, but the combination of bionicle + robot wars makes me feel like i am seeing his toys again
Man, that Robo Riders blurb was a trip and a half. They really knew how to excite kids while sounding as hammy and out-of-touch as possible. That must have been before they had the whole Drome thing figured out.
Yeah, I don't wanna see bionicle end up like things like Pokémon where people come in to collect, not out of passion, but because they see them as "investments". Driving up the price and ruining it for everyone.
Partly the reason I gave up on my dream of acquiring all the 2001 masks. I’ve loved Bionicle since being a child but I was already too late being born in 2005, I’ve always gone to the second hand market for Bionicle sets but I’ve never struck gold, came close a few times but someone always got there before me. As time passes eBay became less about people wanting to get rid of things and more about people wanting to make money. Either way I’ll always look, but it’s better to not be hopeful on the mask front, I still have very few. As always though, I wish you good luck on finding the rest!
5:42 unsure if anyone’s said this but that seems to be a Kang? Robot from the 2012? TMNT show. Forget the exact year it was out and if that’s what the alien things were called but I had one of them as a kid. They’re like weird brain creatures a la Dalek that use humanoid robots to move around and do things.
Would love to see a wider collection video. Curious how many sets you’ve got especially given all of this. Also would love to see how big your Tahnok army is by now
Wish I could find good deals on Bionicle parts The cheapest thing I found was literally a Pirahka's Thigh peice and a single pin.....for 7 dollars....for two peices.. What the actually heck!?!?
new video lets gooooooo!!!!!!! also you are pretty close to getting every at the beginning there was (if I counted right) 11 masks left! (now I haven't seen the whole video yet but thats pretty close)
YEEEEEESSSSSS finally another episode, you inspired me to get back into collecting bionicle and buying hauls from ebay (sorry mate might have snagged a few lol)
Brilliant, what a great find! Ive also switched to Vinted, there's currently a lot of cheap listings coming from Italy, though the great bonkle finds usually come from the Netherlands. Looks like Hafu left his chrome ailver hau at home, but at least you already had that one. Cant wait to see the continuation of the quest!
Yeah, shame the Hau wasn't there but maybe its found its way to someone who needs it still. And Netherlands, you say? Is that where those strange white Huna have been turning up?
Been doing my own quest as well so definitely not helping in terms of bulk lot availability. What I have found is that compared to the amount of lots I've bought, very very few people back in the day actually bought more than maybe a couple of mask packs. I've bought lots where clearly the original owners like Bionicle a hell of a lot, but very few bonus masks. Krana packs I think were a little more common, but Krana-Kal and especially Kraata are almost non-existant in bulk from what I've been seeing, feels like no-one in the UK bought them, probably due to the awful RRP when comparing the £ to USD at the time. I remember buying one Kraata tub from John Lewis when I was a kid and having to do a double take when it rang up at £3.49!
Yeah, the masks packs and disks/kraata etc definitely didn't sell well in my area. I remember being kind of shocked how "expensive" the Kanohi packs were, at least from the persepective of my young self. It was a lot of money for just two masks, especially when they still had a chance of being the regular Toa/Turaga colours. The 2002 ones sold a bit better, because "whoa cool theyre all gold!", but I dont know anyone who bought the disks or kraata.
@@brickthumb I have an odd assortment in my collection but believe the only piece I could consider rare would be my dark blue Metru Ruru (most of the Karzahni set also exists) and would love to do a trade! let me know if that interests you at all!
Did I miss an episode, when did you get the Kanohi Vahi and the clear plastic Kanohi Miru, I remember the episode where you got the chrome Kanohi Hau an the episodes where you got the copper turaga masks as well as the misprints of the Kanohi Kaukau, but I don't recall when you got the other two masks.
Not much better here across the pond, something as glossed over as the damn Voyatoran (which I love dearly) goes for like 3 times the amount they should, let alone anything of actual value. As a Tohunga Enjoyer too it's absolutely annoying

Oh man, the trans whote kaukau is an amazing one to score! Congrats, keep up the hunt! :)
HONEY COME QUICK, ANOTHER QUEST FOR THE MASKS DROPPED!
Good to see you back man! I’ve missed seeing your new videos every once a while!
So glad you're still doing this series!
Yay my favorite biotuber just uploaded!!!
Babe wake up, new Brickthumb video dropped
Awesome find getting a near-complete robo riders collection. I loved those almost as much as Bionicle growing up!
5:45 That’s Krang from TMNT 2012! Been a while since I’ve thought of him lol
A used Bohrok with the Krana inside?! That’s rare to see
I had one from a haul I did a couple months ago that had all the bohrok in it and Kohrak had a gold krana
In the US things are about the same for big lots of bionicles being super expensive. I wanted to follow in your footsteps and collect all the masks and krana, but it feels a little impossible now

The droid was a krang from teenage mutant ninja turtles😊
Clicked this so fast! Great content
thath "lewa" moc actully looks pretty intresting.
this is too real, Ive also have been in a hiatus of feeding stuff locally
really sad to see the speculator investors poisoning bionicle now.

@@austinhinton3944 It's already happening. You hate to see it.
Call them what they are, scalpers. Just a different kind
THE BOHROK BIN!?

Definitely agree about ebay...some of the listings are outright crazy. Absolute junk with terrible photos, but the seller still wants a fortune...

BABE COME QUICK! BRICK THUMB POSTED A NEW BIONICLE QUEST FOR THE MASKS!!!

The box of bohrok, make sure not to awaken it
He returns!
The same ebay problems are here in the US, at least for me. Not a lot of lots, and expensive ones if there are any.
You're lucky with these metru blue bohrok arms. I need so many of them for my matoran collection.
YEEEEEESSSSSS finally another episode, you inspired me to get back into collecting bionicle and buying hauls from ebay (sorry mate might have snagged a few lol)
Ah, so it's your fault the prices have been going up! Joking of course. Enjoy the hunt! ;)
@@brickthumb I love making mocs, it's what I do.
Of course what I can't buy gets left behind for the rest, we're the bionicle vultures haha
FINALLY MORE QUEST FOR THE MASKS
That Nuparu done with Karzoni parts is a cool color swap
Hes back oh and first
So that robot action figure is a Kraang from Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles. Sorry Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles
Nice, thanks! I guess it makes sense with the other Turtles stuff!
4:31 that actually looks quite good, it needs arms tho

How does one help in thinning out that Bohrok box of yours?
Let me guess, the silver kaukau was a trade for the 2nd yellow kaukau?
Indeed it was!
£120!?
