I'm working on new videos, but here is a compilation for now since it often was requested!
Hey man I'm a bit tipsy but I just wanted to say that after a long days of thinking and looking as other hero stories like superman.

Will there be another big mask episode where we see Robert taking big mask's role till bm is alright again? Like to see face melter having a comeback by meeting an alien survivor and have to talk things out lol just a suggestion love your content :)
I have an idea for an episode: Superhero but his greatest enemy is fear, and the whole episode is just a giant robotic dinosaur talking to Robert (unless Big Mask comes out of retirement) about being afraid of cancellation because all of the giant villains he fights are female.
"I have self-awarely and painfully overthinked my entire existance to the point where I can give advice that is actually impactful and the only thing I can confidently say i'm proud of doing" gang.

I love how although Bigmask is the one trying to resolve the argument between him and mentally unstable characters, he himself has a lot of flaws that causes miscommunication issues like assuming their feelings
I think that also makes a very interesting progression system. While most superheros will learn new abilities and ways to defeat the bad guy, Bigmask instead learns how to properly communicate with people and more efficiently assist with their problems.
Some have pointed out that Big Mask is essentially powerless because everyone else is the same size anyway; and that makes him kinda a powerful image. A person who literally has no other power then looking people in the eye
It's been theorized that bigmask *does* have powers like facemelter because both mask came from the same place. Which is even more impressive that bigmask didn't use any powers even while he's being hurt, he continues to look them in the eye and still win! Like gg bigmask the real Chad for this
Bigmask being good at providing therapy because he's been doing therapy in the first place is something I missed entirely. It's really motivational

Was that written by someone who's read Nobel Dreams or someone who hasn't? Because my goodness does that accurately describe basically everything wrong with so many scientific fields today.
I don't think that's, like an inherent problem. You want the thing you to do be recognized as valuable to society on some level. Especially if that thing is a groundbreaking discovery or whatever.

Honestly this is definitely one of my favorite series. I really dislike that other series feels like they don't get into the psyche of the villain too far. Heroes either sorta defeat them, or fix the problem of the villain, but don't necessarily delve into the psyche. And watching this series kinda properly give villains someone to talk to, is really wholesome.
I love how alot of things in gaming and movies are based on a squid but bigmask is like "nah" and decides to fight an actual squid

This is such a profound exploration of the wounded healer archetype
I love how Bigmask also learns and gets better at helping those who he talks to throughout the episodes, learning from the mistakes he commits and trying to become more and more comprehensive with each foe he faces.
Mattias' art and writing plus Trent's voice is one of the very best things on UA-cam.
The character moment where he starts asking Names before talking to people is a nice touch.

Honestly this whole big mask series pretty well deconstructs the villain trope

Idk if you'd continue Big Mask (honestly I see potential for a Robert side series with how the third one ended). But whatever it is you wanna do, keep it up!

This is worthy of a 96 episode live action show.

@@branpower7608 used to like it a lot! but then I researched the crime the turtle guy was in and suddenly it wasn't so fun anymore. but I found a couple of good books with a similar philosophy! I consider them even better but that's just my bias cause I love books) thanks for the recommendation anyway tho! if you got anymore id love to see em

Wile being one of the most powerful creatures on a planet => he decides to just tank the damage.
His face was literally melting and yet: "Do you wanna talk this out?..."
That's sounds so comical and so heroic at the same time. Because most of superheroes a like: "I MA GOTTA GO BRAKE YA BONES, 'CASE YA THE BAD BOI", except, I don't know, Spiderman and Flash? Who else? In movies/books/games violence sorted WITH violence in like 85% of cases. But not here...definitely looking forward for Season 2

Aw this series is so good and wholesome!
I love how Face Melter's arguments are actually true and convincing, even though he's doing it for the wrong reasons. Big Mask really isn't suited for the front lines, it's not a place where you have that opportunity to talk with and help people, because most will just throw you into space immediately or melt your face or in real life shoot you. These "villains" need help but it's clear that Big Mask got lucky that these people were in a place where they were willing to talk. His talents of getting through to people would be much better served either before these rampages happen or alongside someone that can defend him or defeat the villains if need be. And it becomes so much clearer in this discussion with Face Melter that trying to do this superhero job and becoming Big Mask instead of a normal therapist is really just him feeling guilty for his actions in the forest. What the mask aliens needed was a Face Melter, someone who could help them immediately with unfortunate violence because all other talking options were expended. Big Mask ironically would have died if he had picked up the mask, because the "way he fights" wasn't what people in immediate danger needed. But Big Mask, because of the shock and dread of seeing a whole civilization die after asking for his help, doesn't realize that there was nothing he could have done. He thinks probably what most people would, that these superpowered aliens were right. That anyone could have won against the evil force if they just put on the mask. But the aliens were wrong, and Big Mask spent his superhero life believing that lie, that he could face giant monsters despite not truly being suited for it. He discovered his true strength in the process, being a kind and understanding therapist, and was simply lucky that it got him this far in this profession. But as Face Melter shows, there are people who will dismiss you and outright hurt you. And I think that moments away from death, Big Mask saw this. He saw the real danger and violence his job entailed for the first time, and that he didn't have the tools to save himself and others from it if things didn't go right. He realized that he was doing the right thing in trying to emotionally connect with and heal people, just in the wrong environment. I love that he presumably uses the frankly insanely lucky second lease on life afterwards to sort out the trauma of not being able to help the aliens, and look to help the world in a way that better suits him and his patients. And it's puncuated perfectly by Robert having the same realization himself, stating the core of everything I've explained. You need to help people your own way, that suits you. Sometimes what people ask from you lines up with exactly who you are, like Face Melter having the personality, talent, and (frankly unhealthy) lack of empathy well suited to take on his alien threat. But most of the time what people ask of you just doesn't line up exactly with who you are. And when that happens, like Robert says, we need to take a step back, realize the ways we can and want to help people, and then do it our own way.
Screw you for making me think of my current progress of getting help and medicated and how im struggling.

I hope Bigmask gets some recognition later. He sacrificed his already paid for lunch and haven't paid his medical bills. Would be nice if someone thanks him in the series, the citizens could gather or something.
Facemelter blowing the planet he needs to protect really shows acting without understanding let the dooming results. It is kinda sad for both him and Bigmask.😢

I love this series. We need more heroes like Bigmask. We need more people who try more to love. Bigmask isn't a perfect person, but he tries, always. I want to portray more heroes like him in my art someday. Thank you, Mattias Pilhede.
This series is still so magical to me as somebody who not only loves the type of art you make but also loves Tokusatsu. You really captured the spirit of why these heroes are important in a way that's so real and funny, too.
