Yeah I feel the same. Its even more evident after binging the episodes up here after not seeing the original Robert Stack eps since the late 90's. Seems like they started to concentrate on weaker things instead of covering the creepy and disturbing murder and related cases in the earlier seasons. That woman with Kern, well most of these women on here who fall for these swindler guys are dumb. Red flags are in front of you, run away!!!!!!! The message in the bottle story touched my heart as a kid.
I was the woman with Kern. I know in retrospect how easy it is to think I was dumb. However, these con men know how to keep you off balance so you can't think straight, and I did believe I was helping him. I put myself out there to help prevent this from happening to other people. Many other victims of Kern's, including the car dealerships would not come forward and press charges because they didn't want to look stupid. I was willing to do that to help stop him. I hope this never happens to your mother, or your sister, or any other woman in your life. But if it does, I hope you are more understanding.
@@THERSC216 Thank you, Ron. I appreciate it. The charges I have against Kern, the con man are still active in the state of Connecticut. So perhaps one day I will get justice. In the meantime, I believe I have helped other victims and hopefully prevented others from being conned.
@@THERSC216 He is living in London, England with his mum. I even know his address, and shared it with the Milford, Connecticut Police Department. However, the state of Connecticut is not willing to pay the $50,000 it would cost to extradite Kern back to the U.S. to face the charges I brought against him, which I can understand. I do have satisfaction knowing these charges are keeping Kern from wanting to come back to the U.S. to con other Americans.
Is the actor portraying Kern that bad at impersonating Palmer's British accent or was Kern that bad at it and the actor is spot on at playing him? 😂 Edit: So it turns out Kern is actually British. So, the actor who portrayed him just did an awful job at the accent. Got it. 🤣🤣
Hello, I am Elizabeth, the "victim" of Kern's in that episode. In the actor's defense, he did not know Kern was British until I told him the day of shooting so he did not have time to practice a British accent. I met the actor and actress who portrayed Kern and me the day of shooting and it was just in passing I mentioned Kern was British. I presumed someone had already told them that important fact. Thanks goodness I did or it would have appeared Kern was from the US. By the way, I do think they did an excellent job in casting the actor, he reminded me so much of Kern I even told him I felt like punching him in the stomach, but refrained. ;-) I was flattered they picked a pretty actress to portray me. They were both very nice to me and I still have the photo I had someone take of the three of us that day. As an aside, the filming took place in L.A in the home where Ryan O'Neal grew up. They chose the home because it looked like my home in New England where I was living when Kern stayed with me.
@@bethmc95 That stood out to me too. Maybe he was living there, picked up the mail and didn't read it until he got to work. It's a fun story. I don't get why so many comments here are trying to pick it apart.
I think she was saying to these people that by leaving their earthly belongings to her they would be happy in their afterlife because she's some kind of Messiah or some spiritual cultist bs like that. And because they were so into this cult they did what she asked them.
"Playboy Con Man", the segment which featured my story is still consider unsolved. Even though I know Jonathan Kern, the con man is residing in Lunay, France, the charges I brought against him are still current. So according to "Unsolved Mysteries", the case is unsolved. They will not update the case unless Kern is arrested on the charges I brought against Kern in Milford, CT: criminal impersonation, second degree forgery and second degree larceny.

If you are sentenced to life in prison, How the hell can you serve your sentence and be released? If you are released, That's not life....... He must not have been sentenced to lwop "Life without parole"
I don't need addiction ads thanks 🙏
"Physic Surgery"
W.T.H 😂😂😂
Go to an Evangelical 'healing' rally to see some really crazy shit.
Smoked salmon????
This was 1994 when it wasn't so widespread.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hopefully, these very very victims that lost their lives that night will get justice. Nobody should lose their life in the way that they had lost theirs.😠😱😱😥😥😭😭😭😭😭
I really enjoyed the note in a bottle story, but I'm just having a hard time believing that in all that time, no one pick it up, or saw it. But it's still very nice. 💛💜🧡💚
12:15 stop that editor 😱 i got spooked by her
That woman with Kern, well most of these women on here who fall for these swindler guys are dumb.
@@elizabethballard7410 ma'am I appologize for my comments. I hope you find justice one day with that loser.
@@THERSC216 Thank you, Ron. I appreciate it. The charges I have against Kern, the con man are still active in the state of Connecticut. So perhaps one day I will get justice. In the meantime, I believe I have helped other victims and hopefully prevented others from being conned.
@@elizabethballard7410 after 20 years is he still in America or in Europe?
@@THERSC216 He is living in London, England with his mum. I even know his address, and shared it with the Milford, Connecticut Police Department. However, the state of Connecticut is not willing to pay the $50,000 it would cost to extradite Kern back to the U.S. to face the charges I brought against him, which I can understand. I do have satisfaction knowing these charges are keeping Kern from wanting to come back to the U.S. to con other Americans.
Is the actor portraying Kern that bad at impersonating Palmer's British accent or was Kern that bad at it and the actor is spot on at playing him? 😂
Edit: So it turns out Kern is actually British.
It was he's mom who wrote the letter.
🙀🙀
That makes more sense than someone finding the bottle twenty years later and sending a letter to his WORK address!!
@@bethmc95 That stood out to me too. Maybe he was living there, picked up the mail and didn't read it until he got to work. It's a fun story. I don't get why so many comments here are trying to pick it apart.
Those poor followers of the cult are just trying to fill that hole in their soul and are so gullible.
That lady is creepy as hell
28:22 looked like a failed insurance scheme.
11:58 great cut lol. She's so damn creepy
I remember my sister putting a message in a bottle probably in the late 90s.
Congratulations 🎉
Would you like a reward?
That intro with the skeleton head.
I think she was saying to these people that by leaving their earthly belongings to her they would be happy in their afterlife because she's some kind of Messiah or some spiritual cultist bs like that. And because they were so into this cult they did what she asked them.
Not unusual; many well-established religions have been playing that same con game; particularly Christianity.
Holy shit, dude's wig at 25:19 is AMAZING(ly bad)
It's amazing how easy it is to manipulate women. Especially when they throw fame or money at them.
Lol incel
Cinderella ... Pretty Woman ... gotta live that fantasy.
Hoffman looks like mr. Burns
30:33 The Eerie Music...
I'd love this proggaamme now unsolved mystery s is the best
lots of these Mysteries are solved...
Yeah... that's kind of the point.
Really totally scary how a convict can escape prison, almost like the 19th century magician Harry Houndini!!🥶🥶😬
Never understood how people fall into cults.
Most of them are indoctrinated while others are just so credulous that they'll buy anything; your typical conspiracy theorist.
Millions of people have fallen for cults; particularly Christianity and Islam.
The same way they blindly follow scientists, professors, politicians, and “news” organizations.
Kevin would spend the next 20 years on the run evading 1st degree littering charges
Lmaooo women back then seem so loose with money. "Here's my debit card!!!" Like what?
I grew up and live on Cayuga lake. I can literally see aurora from my lakefront property! My boss from my first job lived there!
