It wasn't too far when he setup Jax to look like a drug user, all so you win custody of his daughter as well. It wasn't too far when you developed amnesia over the dangers involved when children are near Sonny; Michael for example. It wasn't too far when YOU wound him up and turned him loose on Jax when you knew he was mentally unbalanced at the time. And it definitely wasn't too far when he sabotaged Jax's plane which is now broken into many pieces with no sign of the body! And all of this happening because you never would, and probably never at all could tell, when enough really was enough!
This is the 2011 episode Nancy submitted to Emmy voters when nominated for 2012 Supporting Actress, and she won! Even better, costar Finola Hughes was the presenter of the category. Unfortunately, Nancy wasn’t present to accept that year. Here’s hoping Nancy can win a Lead trophy at some point!
Well, the sheer fact that he wouldn't have been missing/suffering isn't why he would have been better off. Any amount of pain is worth going through for someone you love more than yourself, and that's better than being happy and healthy at their expense. But the real reason he would have been better off is because Carly never loved him the same. She would have never sacrificed so much. I hate seeing people swim oceans for people who won't even jump puddles for them.
Let me say something. I LOVE CARLY! And I like Laura Wright, not as much as Sarah or Tamara but I like her ALOT. In this scene, Nancy Lee Grahn showed that she is on a level a little step above Laura Wright. She was phenomenal
Pot calling the kettle black the hypocrisy of all of the characters literally laughable Alexis was right with 1 thing Carly should've known Sonny don't play fair but Jax was not innocent in this go around he's the 1 that wanted to fight tooth and nail which forced Carly into a corner. Alexis talked too much as well she had so much talk because she actually knew Jax was alive another thing Carly and Jax both chose each other so they have to deal with their consequence who's Alexis to be talking about it. The scene was well charged but it really wasn't all that whenever the characters get righteously indignant it always pisses me off
Everybody hating on Sam now in 2024 need to rewatch scenes from this time. Carly/Sam, no difference, they sacrifice themselves on the altars of Sonny/Jason over & over again. Til they break up again, then they're dangerous... Then reunite, then they trust & defend them, Then break up again, reunite, rinse... repeat...
GOD I hated how for years under Phelps/Guza, the unholy trio of CarJaSon would gang up on, belittle, lecture, and pontificate at Alexis. It was like watching 2 high school jocks & a cheerleader gang up on the nerdy smart girl. This scene was a long time coming-I just Sonny and Jason were there so she could have torn them a new one too.
Alexis kicked Carly's ass in a way that no one else could at this time. She was too much on her high horse from 2008-2011. She BURIED her here. Well acted and well deserved.
Alexis killed this scene and what the writers should have done was for Carly to truly get her just deserts but the writers wouldn’t do that. They just wouldn’t show how wrong she was. They should have had something bad happen to Joss because of Sonny or Jason. Joss wouldn’t be dead but they could have made her deaf and then the truth about Jax being set up would come out and then Carly would lose Joss. It would have been karma considering what she did to AJ.
Carly doesn't seem to understand that no matter how dangerous a man is, a child _needs_ their father. Find some other ways to protect your children from Sonny's lifestyle, but you don't have the right to cut him out of their life unless he is directly abusing them.
Carly plays god w/ her children & their dads. Poor aj had blackout drunken sex w/ carly. That one act destroyed the man bc hurricane carly did not like that aj was her babys father. Well too bad. If she wasnt such a pychotic since aj was so nice to her ( sean Kanan's aj who was just a good guy w/ an illness of alcoholism. Which I really resented even as a young teen watching that head writer bob guza made being a recovering alcoholic a worse problem than being a murdering mob king pin. I'll never forget before carly accidentally fell down the stairs , lila pleaded w/ carly to let an see his son & she said to the effect " ajs a drunk " & then she went on about how sonny was better for Micheal bc he has a " code " he lives by I really wanted to scream. I guess bc 2 men that I love very much in my family at that time were recovering alcoholics one had been in recovery for 7 years at that point in time the other 5 years. These men are salt of the earth people. Billy was a horrible recast as he looked nothing like sean. Usually u recast someone who at least may resemble the last actor. Even after carly drugged aj put him in a laundry cart dumped him in an alley & poured booze on him & anonymously called his poor mom , monica who thought her son fell off the wagon again , aj still kept his word he would not during her pregnancy tell tony he was probably micheals father. So imagine if carly just said " look aj I'm pregnant, I dont know who the dad is please dont say anything bc it will wreck me & tony . Since all her shenanigans to hide aj as the dad helped to make up Tony's mind to take the baby from her. So if she was just honest w/ aj then she would not have put herself in a corner to name jason as the dad. Anyway ajs life was destroyed which carly freely admitted to Robin when she returned bc he had the audacity to want to be part of micheals life & have the boy know he is his dad. Sonny locked a recovering alcoholic up w/ booze & hung him on a meat hook to take his child away. All so unnecessary. Sonny for some reason loves taking kids away from other men but no way in hell he would allow it.
Uh, that’s ridiculous. Sonny doesn’t have to “directly abuse” them to put them in danger. He’s a fucking mob boss. People *die* around him because of what he does. Michael ended up in a coma because of Sonny’s lifestyle. Kristina almost died in a car bomb because of Sonny. Morgan actually died in a car bomb that ultimately wouldn’t have been in play if not for what Sonny does. A mother absolutely has the right to cut him out of her childrens’ lives if the father is a danger to them.
I have to say in the past, with these two, I typically sided with Carly. Alexis has been hypocritical and judgemental, still is sometimes. I resented how she saw Kristina as perfect, and blamed Michael for anything that wasn’t. However, here I see how Alexis has learned from her mistakes, while Carly apparently hasn’t.

NLG is a fabulous actress. she deserved her emmy and now needs lead story lines.
