Parang nahahanginan si Mark kay Mike for some reasons and maybe this is finally Mark's way to get rid of Mike for good. I wish Mike more success because he's such a talented guy but does he have any rights in Rivermaya? silang 3 naman ang lumaban sa intellectual property nyan di ba?🤔
As far as I can remember sa nabasa and napanood ko si Mark ang owner ng Rivermaya brand. Mike and the former members were not really involved during the hearing ng IP rights ng Maya. Rico and the former members were asked to participate but I remember Rico in an interview that he was told by his lawyer not to get involved sa kaso.@@jashevitubs5490

Napuntahan ko parehong both Heads 2022 and Maya 2024 reunions. Even tho mas mahaba yung sa Heads (29 songs, sa Maya 24), parang mas nagustuhan ko yung production ng Maya. No front acts, no special guests. Mas maganda din yung pace and it didnt feel dragged. 29 songs tas nakatayo felt too long
What's unattractive about this anticipated episode is that the focus was mostly drawn to the debate of including the past and present Rivermaya members, the expectancy of surprise performers/performances, etc. I think there are a lot of interesting things to talk about this topic like the nostalgia, the reaction to the underrated songs from the band's first three albums that was finally played live again using our current technologies, that unexpected "Nerbyoso" single, just to name a few.
i just love how the 90s music and trends is still relevant and even more popular in this generation. im glad i was part of that decade.
for me, as REUNION ung title... ung 4 boys na nakilala sa mainstream ung nakilala ng masa nung 90's sila talagang 4 ung nag angat ng band kumbaga nag work hard para maging success ang band, si Perf, part ng story at ung ibang naging member ng band,
kung ANTHOLOGY ang title pwede i include lahat ng naging member as a WHOLE story ng mismong banda.... at wala siguro arguments.... sa lahat ng fans ng band HAPPY sila sa nakita nila na buo ang apat na naglagay sa SUCCESS ng band.....

Ako personally napanood ko podcast ni sir Paco dahil sa reaction ng Rivermaya Reunion and since then pinapanood ko na ibang videos/podcast nya. Ang ganda ng podcast ni Sir Paco napaka objective ng point of view at feel mo na walang halong showbiz eck. Sarap malaman insights ng kwento ng bawat guests na feel mo na malaman at walang halong paninira. Galing ni sir Paco sa podcast nya. And looking forward ako dito sa reaction video ng reunion and it happened nice. Haha sana mainvite mo sa podcast mo sina Bamboo, Rico, Nathan at mark soon. 🙏🏻
Well about sa Rivermaya, fan ako ng Maya since 90's. Looking forward since then na magka reunion sila. Thankfully nangyari na din sa wakas yung reunion ng classic lineup, bamboo, rico, nathan at mark. No offense but itong lineup talaga na to yung nag palipad ng Maya noon. Yubg vocals ni Bamboo talagang proven na sa industry, talent at songwriting skills ni Rico is such a God given awesomeness, astig angas ng bassist ni Nathan and humbleness humility and loyalty ni Mark in drums ang talagang tumatak sa puso ng masa from then to now.
Nasa bronze lang kami noon pero ramdam namin yung bonding, connection, enjoyment and fulfillment ng group sa show. It was really a wonderful treat sa 90's and OPM ng Pinas seeing that group sang their beloved songs. Personally, my ups and downs ako sa flow ng songs kasi purely 1 to 3 albums yung tinugtog nila. May mga songs ako na hinde alam kasi puro singles lang nila alam ko pero musicality the best. Ramdam mo talaga yung maturity at nasa prime pa talaga yung apat in terms of performance wise. Best experience. Ang regret ko lang hinde ako nag VIP.😅 Ang saya ng VIP section. Sulit nila.
My take away about sa reunion, sana, mag reunion pa sila one last time kasama current members ng Maya kasama sila Rico at Bamboo. However, okay na ako sa reunion na to. The best talaga. A month na pero may hangover pa ako.
Sana magkaroon sila USA at Canada tour. Hinde kayo mag sisisi. Promise.

26:25 Pacs hit it in the head. The core 4 members must first prove not only to themselves but also to the world that they still have it before we can even talk about the "other" members potentially coming in.. This was a test and thank goodness they not only pass it, they exceeded expectations beautifully. It did not feel like old musicians performing their old hits. Rico was not lying when he said everyone is better. It was true. Their maturity, skill level and chemistry was on point. I hate to sound corny but that was a phoenix rising from the ashes...Lol... Now that they've proven themselves, sky is the limit. Heck, why keep it within the Rivermaya multiverse? Rico can do some of his songs like when he played You'll be Safe.. Bamboo (the band) songs can make an appearance too. Low key I was hoping for Noypi to come up just to surprise everyone. Have Perf do some Triaxis songs too. Imagine Perf performing Lights Fell Down after 214 coz I truly believe that it was the perfect sequel to 214 if Perf stayed with RM.. 214 is the proposal, Lights Fell Down is the breakup.. Sorry to ramble pero anything is possible so I hope this is not the end of it. Peace!!!

Linawin muna po siguro natin yung term na "Batang Nineties". Sino-sino ang tunay na "batang nineties", yung mga pinanganak ng 1980s, mid-80s or early 90s ...or mid-90s?
Personally, yung mga mid-80s to early 90s. Kung sila ang tunay na batang '90s, eh apat lang po kilala namin. Sa UA-cam na namin nakilala si Pekto at sa UA-cam na lang din namin natutuhan na siya yung bumanat ng "Kaleidoscope World" at "3 Stars and A Sun" ni Francis M - pero nung bata po kami, session guitarists were ghost musicians.
Halimbawa, session guitarists ka ni Regine Velasquez, isasama pa ba sa picture? Siempre si Regine dapat ang nasa highlights. Yan ang session musician. Karangalan mo nang makatrabajo yung mga sikat, pero tahimik ka lang sana.
At mahuhusay naman po talaga yung mga sessionistas. Sabi nga, "hired gun". Pero sa gilid ka. Tanggapin na. Ang core ng RiverMaya ay sina Rico, Mark, Nathan and Bamboo for the batang '90s🎉
Rivermaya is Bamboo, Rico, Nathan and Mark. Rivermaya MK2 is for the new members, and ang reunion ay for the original members.

But hopefully the current Rivermaya management compensated him well given he is an active member of the band. Ang tricky kasi sa scenario ng Rivermaya eh di sila na disband, you will really step to someone's toes.

Kahit sino naman isama mo kay Bamboo 90% Rivermaya pa din sya. Si Bamboo at ang boses nya ang kumakatawan sa majority ng Rivermaya.
Great conversation and thoughts from each one. Siguro for me, Mike has been a Maya for 20 plus years na rin. They’ve had their time and that was long. Ang dami na rin nila na-achieve. But those 4, na-cut short yung time nila eh. And yun na nga, naghiwalay sila at their peak in the 90s. And now I guess, time naman nila na ipatuloy what they started. And I agree po with what you said Sir Paco, Mike should take the high road and just support the 4. He had his time and he already had an extensive experience as a Maya. This time, he should lend them his wings and let them soar again. 😊
I disagree with this, Mike Elgar was one of the longest member and legitimate member of RM after Mark. He was not a session musician. He was put aside due to this reunion, binalewala kumbaga. I would also leave the band kung walang suweldo ng ilang buwan and expect him to understand and bear the situation coz the others decided to reunite with other non-members to get millions in salary. Saklap ng ginawa nila kay Mike
Opinion lang naman to pro walang nakaka alam kung ano yung side ni Mike actually may interview pa dati kay Mike na ok lang sa kanya mag reunion sila magiging faney lang sya, pro di din natin alam kung ano naging usapan on mike's part.
Kahit man lang sana magbigay ng official statement si Mark o kaya si Nates regarding MikeE. Wala eh.

The guys have nothing to prove to us.... Big deal na sa akin na makita ko sila muli on one stage. Their songs have helped my generation cope and in a way empowered us to be people who express who we are and what we feel outright.
Artists are healers as well as our coaches, at least for me. Though fandom and record sales and concert tix have helped the band reach the iconic status, the relationship and benefits must be 2-way.
We can demand all we can but at the same time have that spirit of gratitude... And be and live the moment.
Will give this a thorough listen uli once I am feeling a little better.

It was a great concert - high energy, joyful, fun, well paced,and well rehearsed, They are not teenagers or in their 20s anymore. There was no sense they were doing the audience a favor by showing up. I respect that. But I don’t expect them to make a new album or go on tour. People move on in life; they don’t go backwards , and that’s how it should be.

Excited ako sa magiging production ng US-Canada tour nila. Will it be like Eheads na literal na silang apat lang (meaning walang orchestra, drum corps, etc). That would be quite a challenge if ganun.

batang 90's ako iba parin ang classic n rivermaya.. nung umlis n si rico sa rivermaya' totoo to rivermaya is not the same band at lahat ng fans nanlamig na..
Kaya Naman naging legacy line-up Yung apat Kasi SA 2nd and third album talaga Yung bulk Ng hits nila. Yung 2nd generation did a lot of hits too. For me the members in these 2 lineups are the legitimate Mayas. To be a part of making the hit songs. Mike being absent just shows his respect to the original members to have their moment. Yun Lang yon.
sa isang banda, ang heart and soul ay ang vocalist at chief songwriter, kapag umalis na sila, that band is totally a different band already,. nagdisband na lang dapat sila kase lumalabas, ginagatasan na lang nila yung naging fame nung banda, revival band na lang yung current Maya ngayon.

Jason Fernandez winning the Bagong Liwanag TV audition contest from being just the lucky 13th pick (not an official finalist) up to singing Himala in the finals will always be poetic and a big kudos to him for an unimaginable pressure, but he had an impossible shoe to fill. Bambs and Rico will always be irreplaceable. I still think Mich Magnaye should have won the search, that way the band may have traversed into an unexplored path with a female front. That is my big "what if" in the band.

My thoughts. 1) Dun sa reunion (I was there, silver section), mejo blessing in disguise na wala si Mike and Perf. At least mas lumitaw yung improvement nina Rico, Nathan, and Mark as instrumentalists.
2) I think dapat magrebrand na sina Mark and Nathan (a la Raymund and Buddy's Ultracombo).
3) Lately nakita ko si Aiman now plays keys for Hilera. It would be interesting to see kung ano magiging post-Maya project ni MikeE or would he venture into something else

Actually, the Rivermaya is in a very unique and wonderful position. They should milk the success of the reunion concert while they still can. And sana, masabay din si Mike sa success dahil current guitarist naman siya eh. Like, what if, instead of sticking with the 4 classic lineup, buuhin na nila ang lima para maging Voltes V. It won't be an issue since it'll be just current Rivermaya (Mark, Nate, & Mike) + Rico + Bamboo. Gusto ko lang naman marinig kumanta si Bamboo ng Liwanag sa Dilim or You'll be safe here. That'd be awesome!

I think mas maraming questions rather than answers ang nangyari after the reunion which is a good problem to have kung tutuusin. Pero for me, I think Mike should be part of the band if ever matuloy yung US/Canada Tour kasi after all, Mike serves as the bridge ng kung ilan mang versions ang Maya meron. He can play all the songs from 1st to latest. And Perf can have a special participation if he wants.
Eto din yung naisip ko. Mike as auxillary musician, Perf as guest. Kung pwede nga, hati sila eh. 20 songs= 10 with Mike, 10 with Perf

Agree na iba talaga si Bamboo as a frontman. Also agree na yung Bamboo, Rico, Nathan and Mark ang magreregister if you followed the band in the 90s. Although they could have made it Rivermaya with Bamboo and Rico Blanco, so Mike Elgar is not excluded. Na disorient lang ako sa twang ni Bamboo. Hindi naman ganun ang natatandaan ko dati hahaha pero cool pa rin naman siya

Sa eheads nakita na natin may 5th member si jazz nicolas, may kasama mikey amistoso, may guest like gary v, audry dionisio and may mel villena and orchestra. Baka ung next eheads manila concert silnag apat na lang onstage. Sa rivermaya ganun din baka namn next time pwde na kasama si mike or other past members. Medyo challenging lang sa rivermaya kung paanu. Sa eheads madali silang apat lang ang may control at minor na pakikialam ng producer 😁😁🤘🤘
